Max's Wine Dive - DallasFantastic nightSpectacular menu offerings, very unique. Great service and fair prices.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food!!The food is always pristine! The pastry chef is a genius! The wine list is very extensive and price great! And they have a retail wine prices!! It's a great place to go and have some food and spend time with good peeps6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but very loudThe place was fabulous, except for the noise level. It could've been a tad more enjoyable if I could hear my dinner guests without shouting. Otherwise, the food, the staff, the drinks were all excellent!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome place!Amazing food; creative, upscale Southern and American. Outstanding service and killer wine selection.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat nightAs always the experience was wonderful. The food was great and the service was impeccable.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousEvery bite of food was good...our table had the fried chicken, shrimp and grits, mushroom bolgonese (hand made pasta), ham and artichoke rissotto and the braised short ribs. There really wasn't one bite that wasn't outstanding. Really good value for what you spend.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMJune 1st 2013As always I enjoyed my brunch @ Max's ...celebrating my son's 9th birthday in which they made him very special with a red velvet pancake and a candle. Service was a little slow when it came down to getting our food...could of been a delay in communication in the back, but overall, the waiter was attentive and apologetic about the situation. I have been to the location in San Antonio and hands down Max's Wine Dive in Dallas or San Antonio is a place that everyone should visit!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentBrunch was amazing. You must try the cinnamon rolls!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Sunday BrunchLots of options, great $3 mimosas with grapefruit juice and huge portions.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat scene, great foodThis is a great place for brunch and I can't wait to go back for dinner. We had the hangover pot pie and the fried chicken. Both were great and stood up to the previous reviews that I read. The cinnamon roll were awesome, and the greens almost could have come out of my own kitchen. Overall, the experience was awesome. Our server was a little slow but not bad for a busy Sunday afternoon. Definitely worth checking out.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMlooking for a good dallas BrunchWas looking for a good Dallas brunch to celebrate my daughter getting into college and decided to give Max's a try. We had such a great time!! There were 4 of us so we were able to try a number of items on the menu. The egg sandwich was incredible as were the chicken and waffles. The atmosphere was great, service pleasant, outside seating was a plus and the mimosas...what can I say!! I really liked the free CD jukebox that rocked with a great assortment of music. I can't wait to go again. Please note the portions are generous so don't plan on eating for a while after you leave. It was also very reasonably priced so it is also a great value.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food but Beware of Ice Cream! The food was really tasty and the portions sizes are generous. We did ask to subsititute the coconut ice cream for vanilla on our dessert and we were told there was a surcharge because the coconut ice cream was made in-house. This was the only snag to an otherwise flawless meal! They shouldn't tout the in-house coconut ice cream as it was overly icy and tasted freezer burnt. We don't mind paying a bit extra for something special, but I really wish we would have stuck with the vanilla made elsewhere as the coconut ice cream nearly ruined our dessert, yes, it was that bad! Fortunately, they were willing to take the ice cream off of our bill which redeemed dessert (once we pushed the ice cream off to the side)!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Service, WineReally great find! I will go back many times, since I want to try everything on the menu5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch PlaceHit up Max's for brunch on Sunday and it was great. The selection is nice and the portions are as well. The only warning - the cinnamon rolls are teeny tiny! So if you order, don't expect to get a full on cinnamon roll. It's more or less the size of a cake pop, but they are delicious and worth trying.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI love maxsMy first time going for brunch lead me with high expectations after having dinner at maxs about 5/10 times. I loved dinner but cannot explain how wonderful brunch is. Grapefruit and orange juice bottomless mimosas for $7?! Absolutely delicious and always a wonderful experience!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, but sit insideI've been twice. It's a good place, but opt for indoor seating. The patio seating is noisy and you will be inundated with traffic, including motorcycles and the loud trolley. The indoor appointments are much nicer. From a food perspective, some of the portions on the seasonal menu could be larger given the prices.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFor the soul-food-wine-bar TypeI took my mom to Max's for Mother's Day dinner. It was the first time for both of us, so we didn't know what to expect. My mom is a southern cookin', soul food type, and I'm more of a wine bar, sit-outside-on-a-nice-day type. We were both absolutely blown away by Max's food and atmosphere, even though we're looking for totally different things. I'm looking forward to visiting again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchI had the massive Red Velvet Pancakes which I couldn't even come close to finishing -- but I tried. I was thrilled to be able and purchase just one piece of chicken because of how good the batter sounded and it was as good as I thought it would be!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayI took my mom to Max's and she absolutely loved it. The chicken and waffles were on point not to mention the mimosas were on point. My mother was full and had a buzz. Fantastic Mother's Day!!!!!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy children said it was theMy children said it was the best place they have been to . They loved the cinamon rolls and the waffles.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day ExperienceEven with the high level of traffic due to Mother's Day, this place was able to maintain a quality experience!! I can't express enough how great my first experience was!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's day special,Great Mother's day special, Chef Patrick out did himself on that dish, Please bring back Fried Brussels Sprouts5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was GREAT!Everything we had was amazing! I have been on a strict diet and since this was my birthday and Mothers Day, I decided to to take a break and have a cheat day... Max's did not disappoint! My mom and I split two dishes - the Red Velvet Pancakes and the Fried Chicken with greens and potatoes. The creamy lemon topping on the pancakes is absolutely sinful! You don't even need syrup. And the chicken was seasoned to perfection. Actually, everything was seasoned to perfection - the greens, the potatoes, everything!
It's a lively place - so, if you want a quiet trendy brunch meant for lots of serious talking - this is not your spot... But on the other hand, if you want to have fun, get a little tipsy, and talk loud - this is the place for you!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMChicken and Wine at it's bestMax's Wine & Dive is a very good restaurant with a vast wine menu. The food & service was great. Go ahead and check this place out. You will not be disappointed.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent overall balanceweird that for a sunday evening, and then also for a Monday night, the place was either alone (monday), or with the kitchen about to close (sunday, 945pm)5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet Soul Food and MoreI would highly recommend this place. My friend introduced me to it a month ago, and I have already eaten there three times! Once for brunch, and twice for dinner. The Food Network likes their fried chicken, and I agree. The collard greens are slightly pickled and zesty! They are cooked perfectly, not overcooked and soggy like most others'. The pork stuffed peppers are an excellent appetizer. The Max and Cheese is a must try as well. My son does not normally like mac-n-cheese, but he'll eat theirs! The staff is also very friendly and attentive. If we didn't live 30 miles away, we might go more often!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time here for brunch.Second time here for brunch. Enjoyed it even more this time. Loved the chicken and waffles. Went on a Sunday and it was definitely the place to be. Glad I had a reservation as there were several people waiting for tables.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMlove the experienceWinfield food and atmosphere! management went by all tables! they are looking to add some gluten free items in mid June!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat comfort food!I think we all left in a carb-coma! Food was so good we couldn't help ourselves - grits were to die for! Next time I'm definitely getting the RVP - they looked amazing! Fun spot, great outdoor dining and people watching. Will be back!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCinco de WOWWe had been to Max's before but were there on Cinco de Mayo for Brunch. I love that you can buy the champagne and they supply the juice to make your own mimosas. The juevos rancheros were wonderful as were the chicken and waffles and cinnamon rolls (there were 3 of us). Superb service even though they were incredibly busy. Make a reservation. We have never had to wait when we have one. Good job guys!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMax Wine DiveMaybe it is just me, but I guess it was OK. I am not a wine drinker. I went for the chicken & waffles and they were good. I guess I got what I wanted.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMax's GREAT wine and dive...The food was excellent.
The service was outstanding.
The atmosphere was inviting.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was awesome!! I amThe food was awesome!! I am not a bread pudding fan, but the pineapple upside down bread pudding was better than any I have ever tasted. The hostess and server were very friendly. The only downside was I ordered a sprite for my beverage. They brought a glass filled with ice to the table and gave me a canned sprite. It was $2.95 for the can with no refills. Another dollar and I could have bought a 12 pack.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good, our waiterFood was good, our waiter (Jacob) was hilarious and totally made the experience enjoyable for brunch. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try some of the wines/dinner items.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy Goodness & Great AtmosphereI had been here before without my husband and knew I had to get him through the doors! The food was just as brilliant (maybe more!) than I remembered and my husband loved it just as much as I already did. Love love love the fact that Max's supports local growers and breweries.
Max and Cheese is hands down the best gourmet mac and cheese I've ever had the pleasure of tasting!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat times at MAX's!The wine selections were great (as you would expect with "wine" in the name of the establishment). The fried oysters to start were delicious, though a tad small. The fried chicken entree was fantastic - a highlight at our table. The short rib was also very good. All in all, we had a great time, with great food and great service. We'll return!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery energetic spot with wellVery energetic spot with well seasoned food. Our waiter was amazing.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe first time we came onThe first time we came on a sunday with 6 people, it was crowded and we should have made reservations. Reservations are a plus. Food was super hot and fresh. I got the wings and waffles, bf got creme brulee french toast! Mac and cheese is excellent! Have to try it, order a side order with your meal. It was chilly inside and the tables are really close together but enjoyed it!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMvery dish we ordered was great.very dish we ordered was great. We'll be back again and again4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe entire staff was amazing! It was only my second time dining and I will have many brunches here.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Brunch SpotI had brunch with my partner and a couple friends here on Easter Sunday. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and it has become a favorite of mine. My partner had the chicken fried steak and waffles, I had the french toast, one of our friends had the omelette, and our other friend had the lox and bagel. All of us loved the food and the mimomsas were just right. We will definitely be back! The service was outstanding and brunch was worth every penny.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome place! My boyfriend and I took his family to Max's for his parent's birthday. We had a blast. From the "Hook, Line, and Sinker" Rose' wine to the amazing fried chicken to the wonderful service and even an opera singing waiter...we can't wait to go back and take more of our friends. We loved everything Max's had to offer.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is awesome! TheThis place is awesome! The fried chicken is to die for.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOMG the fried chicken!!!Had the best fried chicken here! Crispy, not too oily, with a hint of sweetness. Love love loved it... will definitely come back for this.
The fried egg sandwich is humongous and tasty but I probably would not order that again.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI absolutely love Max's WineI absolutely love Max's Wine Dive, the waiter wasn't that good, but the food totally made up for it. Great brunch, will definitely go bak for the dinner menu!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff was wonderful, includingThe staff was wonderful, including the manager who checked on us more than once. All food was outstanding except the red velvet pancakes. I'm not one to send back food but they were so hard I could not cut them with a fork. The second plate had the same problem. Both the waitress and manager were very apologetic and took the item off our check. The fried chicken, chicken fried steak, waffles, and mimosas were all very delicious. This might be my new favorite place for fried chicken. The noise level was a little loud for my liking, but maybe it was because we were next to two large parties. We will definitely go back but will stay away from the red velvet pancakes.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed my food here. MyI enjoyed my food here. My only complaint would be that portions of some menu choices could be larger for the price and there could be a little more variety. I liked the vibe and would definitely return.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter countless hours andAfter countless hours and days of searching, I stumbled upon Max's Wine Dive and decided this would be a perfect restaurant to celebrate my birthday with friends. Max's has a magnificent selection of wine n a winning budget friendly menu that pleased everyone inmy party. The ambiance was evening perfect host/hostess was very accommodating. Max's should definitely be added too your list of wine and dine restaurants in Dallas.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMmy first time at maxs wasmy first time at maxs was a success. I meet friends their for brunch and everyone was pleased.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOn a recent brunch visit,On a recent brunch visit, I had both my carnivore husband and a vegetarian friend from out of town in tow. Max's satisfied everyone. My husband had the fried chicken (crispy and delicious), my friend had the red velvet pancakes (fluffy and not too sweet), and I had the huge fried egg sandwich (perfect amount of truffle oil). My husband ate it all but my friend and I had half our plates left for a second meal. We also bought a bottle of champagne with all the fruit juices we could mix for mimosas. We arrived before the crowd but the staff was perfectly attentive throughout the entire meal. Perfect outing!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
