A word from Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery
Max Lager's was one of the first restaurants to bring the fresh and natural wood-fired menu concept to Atlanta. The art of cooking with wood enhances the Max Lager's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. We feel that the investment made in the wood-fired
grill is an investment that pays great dividends to our guests.
All Max Lager's menu items are prepared daily from scratch. Wood-fired steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza are Max Lager's signature items. An inspired selection of entrée salads and pastas add variety to the American menu.

This place had a nice vibe, and
the ribs were excellent. Although the price wasn't quite as low as the $$ it said in the listing, it was well worth it....."

Everything was good except the
food. For the price the food was not seasoned very well.I had a $26 bland steak that was more dry then medium."
Dined on 7/18/2014
Great beer selection and very good
food. Can be fairly loud and service was friendly but a little slow."
Dined on 7/17/2014
Local businesses are some of the
best, and this one does not disappoint. The food and drinks were wonderful. We went at a slower time so the restaurant was not too full. Even with a lot of people though it can handle crowds and noise very well."

We attend Atlanta Market two times
a year for work. Max Lager's is always a dining spot for late Friday and Saturday evening. Great place to pull into for a burger and a cold beer. Three of us ate Lager burgers and they were larger than life, tasty, hot each burger cooked perfectly to temperature each of us requested."
Dined on 7/11/2014
Service was slow in getting food
out . But food was good"
Dined on 7/10/2014
This restaurant has the best pork
chop in town. They also have a very good craft beer menu."
Dined on 7/10/2014
We were told about this place by
some locals, great food and service."
Dined on 7/7/2014
The food was good, but not the
greatest. We tried the mac n cheese as other reviews suggested but honestly it wasn't as good as I expected. My ribs were good and , my husband enjoyed his burger. Overall the food mostly needed seasoning. That would have made it great and not just good."
Dined on 7/5/2014
It was not very crowded but we
were there in the middle of the week. The waiter we had was fantastic,,, he wanted to make sure we had everything kept checking on us. Also he gave us a couple of samples of the brews they did that we would be interested and we bought a glass,,, it was so good and different. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and the food was very pleasing. We would definitely go back there some other time and I will tell my friends that this is a place they will enjoy"

We visited the downtown Atlanta
establishment while visiting from Colorado Springs. While the food was very good it was Jeff our waiter who made the experience over the top awesome. He was spot on with food choices, excellent with splitting checks, and all around fun and efficient. Although were really busy but you would have thought we were the only people there his service was so good."
Dined on 6/29/2014
Great food, good friendly service.
The was ok, but I am fairly picky on what I like though. The Black Max was an interesting brew."
Dined on 6/28/2014
I like to try something new each
year and Max Larger made this list this year. I had the fried chicken and it was excellent!!! I had to try the wings while I was there (no I couldn't wait for my next trip, it was My B-Day) and I'm so glad I did. Loved them..............nice size, and the taste was on point!!! My bestfriend's daughter had the kid's rib plate and when I looked up the bones were clean. I was happy and my party members each enjoyed their meals, so yes I would come back here again. -sevice was great....light crowd around 6pm on a Sat"
Dined on 6/22/2014
Stated on website valet parking on
weekends after 5:30, but this was not the case. Drove around looking for a spot and then had to pay $10 for 90 minutes in restaurant. Bummer. Everything ordered from wood fired oven/ grill was tasty, as we're cheese grits. Our server, Ben, very attentive."
Dined on 6/20/2014
This was one of the worst dining
experiences ever. The waitress gave my wife a glass of beer with the broken bottom, some of the glass stuck into her fingers, they didn't even apologize, and of course we still have to pay for the beer. Furthermore, they have very strange kid's menu, we ordered baby ribs, for out daughter, and it was extremely spicy even for an adult. I would not recommend this place for dining."
Dined on 5/27/2014
Our two bartenders and ou rwaiter
were good at what they did, but Not one smile during the hole evening from anybody. They ere like machines doing a job. NO personality at all."
Dined on 5/27/2014
Great beer, great food, and a
wonderful staff! I will be back!!"
Dined on 5/23/2014
Staff was very friendly and
attentive. It was my wife's Birthday and she really enjoyed herself. We all had a great time."
Dined on 5/22/2014
The setting, the scenery and the
location is perfect. The steak and shrimp..and gumbo..and Mac and cheese were not the best. The chicken and the fish were reportedly good. Great for a group that loves to talk and wants to hear each other. Not so good if you're big on food taste. Chris and Ben were absolute darlings: not smothering but they also did not forget about you either."
Dined on 5/16/2014
I had read the reviews and
expected a good meal and a pleasant ambiance . . . what I did not expect was to be increasingly amazed with each course as it arrived at our table. I just can't pick one favorite! "
Dined on 5/12/2014
The service and atmosphere are
fantastic. They have a cool varied menu covering all the bases of gastropub type food. My mom and I both got filets and salad, and although we had to send the steaks back to be cooked a little longer, they turned out great. You also have to check out the upstairs area with all the different beers they are brewing in house! "
Dined on 5/10/2014
Best burger i had in a really long
time (I've had lots over the last 10 years) Steaks and beer were good too, burger was brilliant "
Dined on 5/9/2014
Good food welcoming and helpful
servers. It would be difficult not to have a good time at this restaurant "
Dined on 5/8/2014
The restaurant was very
accommodating for our Canadian guests who wanted to watch the hockey game. The hostess was on top of our request and made sure we were in place near the large screen TV. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed the craft beer selections. "
Dined on 5/8/2014
We had a larger party (8) and
booked a reservation - we were seated right away and our waiter was friendly and efficient. The lunch menu is reasonably extensive and they accommodated minor special requests without blinking an eye. This is a great place for an office lunch or post-work dinner. If you have a large party, reservations are probably a good idea, as it gets pretty busy during peak hours."
Dined on 5/7/2014
Took a group of 5 high school
business students here for a "business meeting" - great selection, reasonable prices, something for everyone. This place has a very energetic vibe, there was a private party going on in the room next door, lots of dining guests and happy hour guests. The aroma as soon as you walk in is delicious!!"

We found Max Lagers online as we
search for a good place to meet some old friends in a downtown Atlanta location. We made a great choice. The food was great as was the beer selection. Our table by the bar was a little small but the service to clear plates was spot on. "
Dined on 5/4/2014
We went there for prom & out
waitress was super nice & the food was amazing ! Also very cool looking inside."
Dined on 5/3/2014
Excellent spot for a good buffalo
burger and home crafted beer for lunch. Service was fast."
Dined on 4/30/2014
We were in town for the weekend,
and decided to have lunch before a full afternoon of appointments. The restaurant contacted us on our drive into ATL and we requested a table near a TV that wold show the Manchester United soccer game. When we arrived, they had a booth ready for us with a perfect view of the game. Our server was attentive and didn't seem aggravated with us "hanging out" after eating to watch the whole game. The fish and chips were wonderful (as usual). "

This brewery is really spot on. I
came here with my parents and met a friend. Dinner was wonderful. I had an appetizer and a salad. Definitely recommend the roasted chicken flatbread. The beer was good, not great but still a fun place to hang out. "
Dined on 4/25/2014
My co-workers and I were very
pleased with the food and ambience. Very convenient location to meet after work for dinner."

I was on a trip to Atlanta
recently with my son. We were famished after our trip to the Georgia aquarium and we found this gem on the way back to the hotel. Fantastic food! Fantastic micro and craft brews!! The service was awesome. Very friendly servers who know the menu and the beer. In fact it was so good we went there the next night for dinner. Try the pork chops and the southern fried chicken you'll be doing yourself a favor if you do. Can't wait to go back to Atlanta to try it again."
Dined on 4/18/2014
In town for the first time and
enjoy eating at local spots versus big brand eateries and really like to go to micro breweries for their beers. Atmosphere was below average and house brews we limited. Food was good but typical bar classics selections. Was hoping for more."
Dined on 4/11/2014
I was in town for the week in
Atlanta for a major trade show and we looked up on trip advisor and noticed Max Lagers and felt we had to get there so glad we did! A very vibrant scene tastefully done service was outstanding Jeff Hoskins was our server extremely knowledgeable of their beers and very passionate about the items on their menu. We didn't really even need our menus because Jeff's recommendations were outstanding we brought back an even larger group the next night everybody had a wonderful evening and raves about how good the food is in the craft beer selection Without hesitation I would return to Max Lagers the next time I'm in Atlanta"
Dined on 4/8/2014
Like this place alot. The food was
good and nice selection of beers. Not fancy but fun. One complaint - the booth seats are too low for the tables."
Dined on 4/7/2014
It was my annual visit to
Atlanta--and we couldn't pass up an opportunity to dine at Max Lagers! The local beer is wonderful, and the food is fantastic!!! What an awesome menu! The major disappointment both times we've been there was the service. Sad to say the hostesses and servers almost ruined the experience again this year. We felt very rushed, almost like an inconvenience, and the only smiles were from the bartender! Server this visit did not go over any specials, did not have a recommendation on beer, and did not smile or engage our group the whole time."
Dined on 4/3/2014
Whatever you do, don't order
desert to go; smallest piece of key lime pie I've ever seen. Food over priced and average. Beer is probably what you go for. Service not bad until they get busy. Noisy. Best part about it is that they are on Open Table so you can make a reservation easily. Good location if you are staying downtown."
Dined on 3/31/2014
This was a recommendation by the
hotel staff and they were right! The fried chicken, mashed potatoes and collard greens were OMG Good! This is my first stop whenever I am in town"
Dined on 3/30/2014
I took a friend in from Portland
OR. The wine was so-so (and hard to compare to Portland's wines), the salad was average and the flat bread was horrible. The chicken was very dry, the crumbled cheese was just as dry, if not worse than the chicken. Very disappointing considering the reviews. The wait staff was nice though!"
