A word from Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery
Max Lager's was one of the first restaurants to bring the fresh and natural wood-fired menu concept to Atlanta. The art of cooking with wood enhances the Max Lager's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. We feel that the investment made in the wood-fired grill is an investment that pays great dividends to our guests.

All Max Lager's menu items are prepared daily from scratch. Wood-fired steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza are Max Lager's signature items. An inspired selection of entrée salads and pastas add variety to the American menu.

An informal dining experience that was positive. Enjoyed the food, service was very good and the wine selection was notable considering the restaurant is recognized for craft beers. Overall a very comfortable setting, good food, attentive staff and a general manager who talks to customers. My only wish is that I lived in Atlanta.

Very close to all major hotels in downtown area. Good selection of beers. Food is very good, but not exceptional. Pretty decent burgers, excellent pizza, and the baby back ribs are really good. Nice BBQ sauce...smokey and sweet with a little after heat. Best thing is the dessert...deep fried cheesecake. Really fantastic. Very reasonably priced.

I was attending a conference at the Hyatt Regency and went here with some customers for lunch. Energetic place with great burgers, pizzas and other items (e.g., fish tacos) that often require eating with your hands. This was appropriate for this group, but may be something you tkae into account (papers or other handouts during lunch). The food quality was very good -- everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The fried green tomatos that we ordered were also a hit and of good quality. Sevice was a bit too "casual" for my style (too familiar and acting like you're all friends), but I guess it fits the casual ambiance of the restaurant. I would go back again if I am in downtown Atlanta.

Chose Max Lagers because it was so close to the the Hyatt Hotel. Very happy with the choice. Food was very tasty and the waitress was attentive. Did not try any of the beers so cant comment on those. We shared salad, appetizer ( spinach dip with chips) and grilled chicken and pesto pizza. More than enough food for 2 and all really good. Would def return if we were in town.

The Best Western hotel across the street listed Max Lager's as a nearby dining option...Glad we tried it out! With reservations, we walked in practically straight to our table which was very nice after a long day at a convention. Waitress was great, even on a busy Saturday night, and food was all delicious. Wish we had one in our hometown!

Visited Max Lager when in town for a business meeting. Had such a good lunch, my companion and I convinced another 10 people to go with us for dinner the next night. Everyone had a great meal. Excellent burgers, macaroni & cheese, fried chicken, French fries, pizza, bison/buffalo burger.... Will be back in Atlanta in April and will likely go to the restaurant again. And we had to have separate checks; wait staff had no problems with that. Much appreciated by our group. It was that Good!

We went to Max Lager's on Saturday early evening for dinner and it was delicious. We got the fire and spice for an appetizer and it was tasty, the chipotle mayo was so good. My husband had the porkchop and I had the fried chicken and both were very good. We had the key lime pie for dessert, and that was light and delicious as well. We liked it so much we went back on Sunday after the football game for wood fire pizza and the fried cheesecake for dessert! So glad we found this place while we were in town.

Food is always good - like the home made beer options. For the casual or group occasion this is a fun place to eat. Tables are a bit close could use a little more space between the tables and I never sit in the booth - bench too low for comfortable dinning.

I loved this place because of the great brews. I'm all about trying local beers and I was excited to find this place on my visit in Atlanta. The beers are great, burgers are great and the service was great. Pizza was okay but you can get pizza anywhere so I won't base my experience on the pizza. Closes a bit early for Atlanta but has nice TV's for football saturday/sunday.

The service provided was good. Overall, it was a little loud in the restaurant. However, the food was great. Made specifically the way we ordered it. Sadly, we were disappointed that Demon D'or beer was not available, although it was listed on the restaurants website. The website should have listed it as a seasonal beer.

She was prompt and checked on us throughout the meal. We shared quite a few laughs with her, as my husband is a nut, but she played along :) I highly recommend and always look forward to going back.

Was a great place for a casual yet high quality dinner. Nice beer on site, surprisingly good food for a pub - had the filet steak and it was outstanding. Service was great too. HIghly recommended for a great time without breaking the bank like the other steak houses in that area of Atlanta.

We were on a short trip to Atlanta and were told about this place. They did a great job all around. The only "complaint" I have if you call it that is the bathrooms were upstairs where it looked like a ghost town. Not a big deal, just different.

I have been going to Max Lagers for years and, during my last visit, I was sincerely let down with their food and service! Even worse, I had pitched the restaurant to friends and they had to experience the decline of what I condsidered one of the better brewery restaurants in Atlanta. I just cannot believe that when we informed our waiter of the poor meal and he brought out something else, that the other meal was equally distasteful. It was as if we were eating at a Chilis or TGIF Friday's. This was disappointing.

Ate here twice during a business trip. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the Creole BBQ shrimp & grits. Amazing. I also tasted the fried chicken, collard greens, fried green tomatoes, spinach & artichoke dip and Cobb salad. Everything was so delicious. Our server was Chris. He was fantastic. Wonderful experience and also reasonably priced. Hope to go back someday.

The service was incredibly slow. I had to stop my waiter on more than one occasion just to ask for a drink. While he was at our table he was I attentive and made us feel rushed. It took an hour to get our food. We watched as 3 other groups, larger than ours, got their food before us, even though they were seated after us. The food was delicious once it finally arrived (pork chop and the rustica pizza). We were offered a free drink and dessert for our trouble, but I was so ready to leave, we refused. I'd go back, but only on a slow night.

My wife, daughter and I had the good fortune to dine at the bar and grille before heading back to England following our vacation in Atlanta. The Peachtree Street location was in walking distance from our stay at the Weston Peachtree Plaza. The locally sourced produce and home brewed ales were delicious whilst the service and welcome from the staff was excellent, particularly from Phillip who took care of all of our dining needs. The atmosphere and homely feel was comfortable and welcoming and the food was so good. I would heartily recommend the hickory smoked pork chop. Max Lagers will most definitely be on our itinery when we next visit what is now our favourite US city, the Big Peach.

Found this restaurant through trip advisor. I always like to try local places, so I looked at the web site and the menu. It looked like it had many different choices from beef to chicken to seafood with good looking appetizers and since it was a brew house I thought there would be good drinks there also. The place looked busy for a Monday night, which is a good sign, we got seated right away and the service during our meal was great. Our server, Ja'Kyra, took great care of us and told us about the house brews etc. All food served to our table of 4 was delicious and filling. One of us had a dessert that was described as "Oh my" and a groan!!! Overall a great experience and would definitely come back when in downtown ATL.
