Max Brenner - Union SquareFun night out with the girlsAfter a day of sight seeing, Max Brenner was a perfect night out for two mom's and their teenager daughters. It was a fun blend of chocolate concoctions and good food. The salads were delicious and they ware happy to modify to my requests. My friends also raved about the salmon and fettuccine. I highly recommend the intoxicate chocolate cocktail! The service was top notch friendly, quick put we did not feel rushed. The food, (which is the most important) was very tasty and yummy! I think the reason I never came here is because I had the assumption of this place only being for people who loved chocolate (not a chocolate lover at all) but there are many items on the menu that the non-sweets person would enjoy! The desserts and drinks are a little overpriced but the tasty food makes up for that. I'm glad I have found a new place to take my friends and family because this is definitely a hot spot. they used to have crepes with asparagus and cheese and they were outstanding, unfortunately, they took them off the menu
but pizza was very goo, too

I used to come here with my parents when I was much younger and now have my friends hooked too. All the food is delicious whether from the dessert menu or lunch menu or kids' menu. My favorite is the churros fondue and if I could I'd eat some everyday. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and accommodating. I wish my food could be cooked in seconds though! I love it all that much. My advice to people would be to go only for desserts. The entree's and appetizers are very pricey but does not compare to their desserts. So basically you shouldn't get anything that doesn't include chocolate in it (because Max Brenner is very known for its chocolate). Getting a non-chocolate incorporated dish is a waste of calories and money. Regarding service, I would have to say that the food comes out very quickly. However, it is sometimes hard to get the waiters attention due to the high volume of customers. I also think that the atmosphere is a bit loud and the seating arrangements make me feel claustrophobic. I ordered an amazing mac and cheese with tomatoes (and I added spinach) - it was so good! My friends also order the risotto and burgers and loved them. The lights are dim and every table has a candle. Mostly couples. If you make online or over the phone reservations you get seated right away. The service is excellent. The food is so good, the waiter will tell you all of the favorites on the menu. The music is good. Everything comes out fast. You don't have to wait long for food at all. You can buy chocolate at the chocolate shop before or after your meal. It's a great place and it's a great price for two. I would recommend this place to anyone. My friends and I were visiting the city for the first time and Max Brenner was one of the highly recommended restaurants to visit. And boy, we were not disappointed! I had made reservations for a Monday morning, 11AM - however, the place was fairly empty and quiet, so my group would have been fine without reservations as well.
I had the Max'ican Omelette, which comes with a side of potatoes, a biscuit, and melted chocolate. The omelette was so good - the roasted salsa added such a nice kick! The biscuit was also one of the best I've tried - very flaky and soft, and tasted great with the chocolate.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was great (the Mac and cheese is usually a favorite). If you want something more on the healthy side, the Asian salad is very good as well. Granted, we did have to wait a bit in spite of the fact that we did have a reservation, but max Brenner is a well sought out restaurant and serves many people daily, so that is definitely taken into consideration. Over the last four years they've added many wonderful menu items. We've eaten here at all times of the day and night, week days and weekends. The food and service is consistently good.
