Although we loved our sinful and tasty meal, the restaurant was crawling with families as it was Mother's Day. I accidentally made my reservation at the wrong time but when we got there, they accommodated us right away without any hassle. The place was vibrant and staffs were all very friendly.
The food and shakes were all great. The burger was surprisingly delicious. My wife felt little guilty after all the carbs and sugar but I think it was worth it. We've been here many times before, but this was her first time here and we could not have asked for a better experience. The food was fantastic as always and our server was very nice and super accommodating to our special requests throughout the meal. This time, when we booked our trip to NY, Max Brenner was one of three restaurants that we had to return to. Don´t miss the Tiramisu cocktail and the chocolate fondue. I read the Max Brenner story in the menu and it really is just how he describes. There is such a Willy Wonka experience- fun with food and chocolate! We laughed so much while making our s'mores and drinking the hot chocolate.

Max Brenner's does chocolate justice. I've been here many times before, but had never ordered anything but their desserts. This time, we ordered the 'Sliced & Diced Steak “Pillow” Panini' which comes with delicious waffle fries. Delicious. We shared this between two people to leave enough room for the 'Euphoria Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Sundae' which is as peanut buttery as it needs to be. Completely delightful meal. We made a reservation the same morning and arrived to find a huge event in Union Sq. delaying us by 15 mins. Nonetheless, we were greeted warmly and shown quickly to our table. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. Service was friendly, and helpful. Decor is great , food solid with plenty of non-chocolate fare offered so ok if you aren't into a 10,000 calorie meal. Everything was delicious and surprisingly not the cloying sweet, heavy meal I feared! The place seem warm and comforting. The restaurant was so flexible since I changed the timing and size of my table like 5 times in the last 12 hours. When I came to the restaurant one person short, the hostess was very understanding. Once arriving at our table, it took the waiters forever to come and take our order. Our waitress, Brittany, was so charismatic . The food took some time to come. I ordered a Benners Burger which came with waffle fries. The fries had absolutely no "cocoa powder" or whatever and tasted horrible. The burger on the other hand was to die for. The Oreo milkshake was delicious too but needed whipped cream. Despite being a chocolate themed restaurant, the food itself was excellent. I highly recommend the corn croquettes appetizer. After that, we had to wait 20 more minutes to get seated. I felt there was no reason to even get a reservation if I had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. I would recommend having 2 separate lines - one for walk ins and one for reservations. The host and hostess at the front were amazing! They were friendly and cheerful about seating us even though we were very late for our reservation, and had us seated within about 5 minutes. I originally made a reservation there and thought when I got there at the time I was suppose to that I would be seated right away, but that was not the case. When we did get to our table everything became much better. My biggest issue an probably the only one that really bothered was that I left a note when making the reservation that it was my girlfriends birthday and I wanted them to do something nice for her without her knowing I asked them.
