Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely devoted to chocolate, provides a “chocolate mood:” a person being surrounded by huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. Each person’s chocolate experience is exclusive to the… individual as it brings out different emotions in each and every person. This can be experienced at our retail shop and dining room.

"The food was great and unique and, of course, the desserts were out of this world! Our waiter was great and the staff in the store side were amazing. They went over and above to make sure we got the right chocolate that we wanted to bring home to our family and friends!"

"The restaurant was crowded and noisy and seemed to be full of young people. We all agreed our main course was passable but nothing special. My chocolate milk shake was watery but flavorful. The chocolate pizza for dessert almost made the hectic scene worth it."

"All about the Chocolate. The place is jam packed, and not in a good way. It is very cramped and if you end up sitting upstairs it is very hot. Noise, Noise, Noise. You can't hear yourself think here. The food is good no doubt. They have certainly thought of everything one might do with Chocolate. The one complaint is they do not take requests or change their dishes. I mean really? For what they charge if you want a banana with your ice cream what is the harm? The wait staff was friendly . Poor choice in hostess. This is NYC and that is who they chose. This is not a NYC hang out. I would say come once and you will enjoy yourself over all, but then you never have to come back again. A Chocolate Tourist Trap. Decor is well done."

"This place is absolute amazing for any age type and for any person who wants to experience a menu with many twist. The fact that the drinks are made with chocolate it's pure joy for anybody who has a sweet tooth, definitely try the "satisfaction guaranteed" also the steak panini will melt in your mouth!! The BLT sandwich is to die for...people who have a carve for cheese has to try the Mac & Cheese Crunchy which must be the best Mac&Cheese I've ever had. To the service to the wait to the cooking will be the almost best experience I've every had!"

"The decor can be best described as "Wonka-esque". The whole atmosphere is like a dim-lit visit to a chocolate cave at the factory.

Nicely, the food was fantastic - and though much of it has some chocolate in it - it was not sweet. Everything was well prepared and presented. Between the vidalia onion rings, the mac-and-cheese, and the steak panini with waffle fries, everything was delicious.

My only problem was that the place was a little too dim, busy, and noisy. It would help if the table layout was changed so that the waitstaff wasn't running right behind the people sitting on the aisle."
