  • "We went for lunch, and the food was very good. They were out of one item that someone in our party wanted, but other than that everything was fine. Dessert was delicious! Tons of good choices."

  • "The food here is always amazing. As a party of 4 we each tried a different cocktail and they were all fabulous, by far the best was their Chocolate Martini. Although the service could have been better; forgetting to ring in drinks and lengthy time for appetizers to make it to the table, the food was worth the wait. Lastly desert; fondue for two ... One word: incredible. This dessert was plentiful in size (more than enough for 4) and absolutely a fun, delicious, interactive desert."

  • "Service slow. Drinks came after we received dinner. My martini was warm and my daughters shake was melted. Should have said something but too busy eating. Food was very good though, but all in all overpriced. Music was way too loud. Could barely hear the waitress and hard to have a conversation."

  • "On Thursday, March 27th I made a reservation at 1:15pm for two people during restaurant week located on Boylston Street in Boston, MA. This was my first time at Max Brenner and unfortunately, it will be my last. After sitting down the waitress came over to my friend and I and said she would be right with us. After 15 minutes, she came over and we ordered from the restaurant week menu of our three courses including our drinks. By 1:45, my friend and I still did not even have waters. By 2:15 of not getting our entrees, I searched the restaurant to find the manager and had to request for my lunch and dessert to go for my friend and I. This was still another 15 minute process. The food ended up being delicious but there service was so poor."

  • "Dinners were fine but nothing special and desserts or at least the one I picked stated it had 4 scoops of icecream but it seemed like it had one scoop of icecream and 3 scoops of peanuts. Maybe I didn't read the description closely enough. service was fine."

  • "WENT THERE WITH A FREIND FOR THE $20 LUNCH DUIRNG RESTAURANT WEEK..THE CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CREPE FOR DESSERT WAS GREAT, AND THE BON-BONS SERVED WITH THE CUP OF EXPRESSO WERE YUMMY. THE CHICKEN WINGS WERE ALSO VERY GOOD. THE WAFFLE SANDWICH WHICH CAME WITH A CUCUMBER SALAD WAS JUST FAIR. OVERALL FOR CHOCO-HOLICS AND SWEET TOOTH(S) IT IS A GOOD PLACE TO GO!!"

  • "Our group had an amazing time at Max Brenners. The food was amazing and the desserts were so fun to try! The service was a little weak but it didn't affect our experience too much. Definitely would recommend!"

  • "The Brenner burger was great , as was the Italian hot chocolate. BUT, after being brought to our table we waited and waited for some one to take our order. Then we waited a long time to even get our water. The menu and food are fun and delicious but the wait service should be improved."

  • "Great atmosphere. Perfect for any occasion. Loved the ambiance and service was very efficient and friendly. Food was AMAZING and gift shop is a very nice touch. The menu options were perfect!"

  • "MB is a great spot for when you feel like indulging. Not only is everything on the menu large, but most things are accompanied by chocolate. Great for a different, sweeter brunch on weekends."

  • "A few co-workers and I dined here recently and from the minute you walk into the restaurant untl you walk out you are engulfed in the sweet smell of rich chocolate. This years food selection once again was wonderful and very filling. I wsh I could havestayed and indulge in some of the many chocolate drinks other than the expresso (decadent) but had to get back to work. Next visit to Max Brenner will be for dinner and I'm sure that will surpass lunch."

  • "We had a fabulous time at Max Brenner's last weekend. While a little on the pricier side, all of the food was amazing. I would recommend the strawberry hazelnut crepe and the salted caramel hot chocolate."

  • "I love Max Brenner but had a bad server. He included a milkshake he forgot to bring me on the bill. A milkshake I asked for twice :( it took a solid 15 min just to get water."

  • "The experience would have been better if we weren't sitting on stools at a high table. I made my reservations a week in advance hoping to get priority seating to a nice intimate table but instead we got a high table out in the open in front of the bar and the door behind the host. The cold breeze was the distracting and the people lounging around from the bar mixed with the people waiting to be seated were absolutely too close to our table. Our table barely fit our two plates so having people so close to our already small table was not appetizing. The fondue was overpriced for what we got. There were about an ounce or two of melted chocolate for the fondue."

  • "Was expecting a lot better. But everything turned out alright. Had a panini little overloaded but still delicious nonetheless. Drinks a little pricey for the service but right for the brand name."

  • "Went for Sunday Brunch. The menu is huge and leans toward the sweet side of brunch. Chocolate, Hazelnut Crepes and Banana Waffles to name a couple. Fun food to share and everything really was good. Service was friendly. We even got some Easter Basket shopping done while we were there. We will return."

  • "The food and drinks are excellent, and the chocolate themes are so fun! It's a little pricey, but it's worth it for a fun meal every once in a while!"

  • "I went with a group of girls visiting Boston and we wanted to go get some dinner and chocolate. We all ordered some dinner and then decided we didn't really feel like waiting and ordering dessert - so I can't comment on how that would have been but I am sure the chocolate was delicious. The main meals there are not good and I would not recommend any of it."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We had a wonderful time trying all the different chocolate-themed drinks. The restaurant was loud but our server was very attentive and never pressured us into buying food. Definitely going back!"

  • "It was a pleasant experience. A good place to take a date for her birthday!"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "False advertising. Did not offer Valentine's menu on Saturday, even though we called and asked beforehand on Wednesday when placing reservation. Said ran out of materials - could've at least prepared enough dishes to offer on Saturday, as promised."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "Honestly, don't come here for good service and entrees, stick to the bar and a desert/ hot Chocó."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "A little loud for a date night but we were able to get by with the noise. However, our waiter was very slow and not just because of having other tables but because of his socializing with his coworkers. Other than the service and ambiance, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was excellent, the mac and cheese is a must try and I would highly reccomend the salmon. There are not a ton of dinner options but going for a few drinks, a quick bite, and some incredible dessert would be the ideal trip. I will definitley be sitting at the bar next trip rather than booking a table, the service seemed much faster and even on a Friday night there were plenty of seats open, as long as you were with a small group."

  • "loved taking the kids here in NYC, and thrilled to have max"s in Boston......we only go for breakfast or brunch, but i bet its great all day. the children are now in their 20"s and it passes their "cool test". great service as well."

  • "The food was good, but portions were meager. I got 3 waffle fries in a small glass container. Our daughter loved the milkshake, and the shared sundae was adequate (between 3 of us)."

  • "conceptually get it- it is fun food- tasty sandwiches, etc. chocolate of course is really nice and there are some great gifty items in front....but music was exorbitantly loud- like so beyond the norm you could not hear the table you were dining with. for this reason, i may not go back- maybe if i was 15 i might! even my music major college age daughter and friend found noise levels crazy. btw, if ambiance was cool- one could not tell since the distraction of the noise took away from everything :("

  • "Drinks, amazing!!! White Russians with their own white chocolate to pour in...mmmmmm. Other than that the food is beat street. Went there last year for a birthday and remember it being out of this world, this time it was rank. Burgers overcooked def NOT made fresh, prob frozen and certainly NOT Kobe, others pasta cold or actually was never put in, ended up getting all of our entrees comp'd, sadly will not be returning"

  • "I have been to the restaurant in New York but this was my first time in Boston. It exceeded my expectations I had a blast an the food was delicious."

  • "The place was a great night out for adults who are not yet old enough to drink and wanted to get out in the city. The woman at the front desk seemed a bit too unfit for the job, as she was confusing and disorganized. The waffles were hard not fluffy, And the cake was dry and crumbly. Also for 22 dollars for the fondue i was expexting a decent sized pot of chocolate not a half inch of it in a tiny cup. Or 3 marsh mellows and strawberries. Overall though the expierence was decent, but i just reccomend those few food adjustments to keep up with competition at the melting pot"

  • "Currently a broke college student and wanted an affordable place to go out to dinner with my boyfriend. The service was slow but our waiter was very friendly, the food was good and the dessert was great. We both got dinner and shared a dessert for around $40. Great atmosphere and fun."

  • "I am so glad I came to Max Brenner. I think everyone should try to go here at least once. It was delicious from the drinks, to the entrees, and of course the dessert. It was pretty loud in the restaurant which made it sometimes hard to have a conversation, but other than that nothing else was bad. I really enjoyed my tiramisu drink the most! It tasted almost like a milkshake."

  • "They did't respect our reservation. No toilet paper or paper towels in the restrooms and took them 20 mins a several women to complain about it to refill it. Got charged for fries we never got and hot chocolate with an eyelash on it. The waiter apologized but still charged for it."

  • "We enjoyed an assortment of brunch and dessert items. Not sure if heater in bathroom was broken or if it's unheated, but was very cold compared with the warmth of the restaurant. Would suggest trying a new brand of green tea."

  • "I made a reservation for 5 and went with a group of coworkers. It wasn't a great location for 5 as we were seated at a table meant for 4 (on a slow weekday) and it was uncomfortable. Like many of the other reviews, I wouldn't give the service many, or any, stars. We received our appetizers with no plates, one person's drink never came and the food came out while we were just beginning to eat our apps. Since the table was tiny to begin with, clearly it wouldn't hold 2 courses. The food was [just] alright but the desserts have earned the 2 stars I'm giving this review. We shared the banana hazelnut crepe and it was delicious. I'm not sure I'd go back - I've been to the one in NY and it was a much better experience."
