Max Brenner - PhiladelphiaDelicious, but expensiveThe desserts were awesome, creative mixtures, and delicious. But 2 desserts for $35 is a bit much. Would go again for a special occasion.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA chocolaty delight!Fabulous food with a chocolate flair - great place for a date night!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Chocolate HeavenWent to Max Brenner's with my family for breakfast on Mother's Day. We were there early (9:15am), so it wasn't too crowded. I had the chocolate pancakes and my son had the black and white chocolate blintz. They were both chocolate yumminess. The white chocolate chai was surprisingly delicious, as I am not a big fan of white chocolate (but a huge fan of Chai). My husband had a more traditional egg breakfast and enjoyed that, too, but you can get that anywhere ;-). We made a big stop to the gift shop on the way out. Great graphics and packaging. So far the chocolates I have eaten have been good, but not as good as Teuscher. Would love to go back to try some of the chocolate cocktails and desserts.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFun diningThe atmosphere wss great and the food was delightful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a unique dining experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFor chocolate lovers!Food was every good, desert was excellent!!!!
Service fair to poor waitress seemed to be overwhelmed.
This was my 2nd visit there.
The 1st time very thing was great, service, food, & desert which was EXCELLENT!!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMChocolate and more!Max Brenner is something pretty special. It's a restaurant and also a chocolate store, and it's pretty good at being both. I went there for brunch on Saturday afternoon, and I got the B.A.L.T., but other members of my party got savory and sweet (crepes!) entrees. They have good food, good atmosphere, good drinks, and good chocolate/desserts. It's almost a shame if you don't get dessert there. It's what they're known for! Definitely a good place to have a nice brunch or lunch or dinner!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious time!Having been here before I knew what a blast it would be!! So when my bridesmaids needed ideas for a fun destination to celebrate I thought it would be just perfect! It was such a fun place for my bachelorette party! The service was great, the food and drink was excellent and we all had an awesome time! I hope to come back soon!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, service was great. We had several different palates will us. One vegetarian, one burger lover and two looking for a great tasting low cal meal. All were very happy with their choices. The low cal just had to try the waffle fries and loved them. The hint of cocoa powder was superb! The vegetarian, a Temple student, suggested Max Benner and we were all very happy with her choice. We will be back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant - food wasGreat restaurant - food was good, atmosphere was fun and loved the chocolate theme. Great place for a family - I have older children (14-22) and they loved it too!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPopped in for a quick dinnerPopped in for a quick dinner before a show and everything was delicious. Our server josh was fast and friendly.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMYou don't go to Citizens BankYou don't go to Citizens Bank Park for football, and you don't go to Max Brenner for an elaborate meal - you go for the chocolate in all its infinite forms. Our favorite place to go for a pre-Opera snack!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHow many times can u say YUM?Stellar experience! Our waitress didn't hurry us as we waited for late arrivals, other wait staff told us what produced the lovely smells that wafted by our table, diners told us what they were having, and inquired what we'd sampled. The sea salt carmel hot chocolate in the HUG MUG was ravable, and an instant favorite. There are so many variations that taste buds couldnt get worn out. The fact that this location is 200 feet from 15/16th & Locust PATCO station makes it highly accessible to South Jerseyans! I do recommend that you book through Open Table if you have more than 4 people. There are tables that accommodate more, but we observed they were full the whole time we were there.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest chai tea ever!!! LovedBest chai tea ever!!! Loved that hint of white chocolate in it!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place! After goingI love this place! After going her I fell in love with their creamy hummus! Went for my daughters bday she loved it4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat choice in PhillyThis was our second visit to this location, and it remains a solid choice. We were seated immediately and our server was attentive but did not hover. Their menu is large and varied, with many interesting choices. Favorite side for us is the cocoa dusted waffle fries. I had the Asian Chicken salad, which was large and delicious. My husband had a waffle sandwich with prosciutto and apples, and he enjoyed it. Sadly, we did not have room for dessert, but there were many enticing choices on that menu as well! We will return. Only complaint, and it is minor, our menus were a little sticky.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTook my 5 year old niece hereTook my 5 year old niece here for her birthday / day in the city with Auntie. The restaurant was non stop fun for her. The menu is ridiculously kid friendly and full of sugary goodness and fun.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy Food with Chocolate FunMy daughter & I were treating ourselves to a Walnut Street shopping spree & decided to treat ourselves to a chocolate lunch. We were not disappointed! Our server was very helpful with our vegetarian entree requests and offered terrific advice when it came to chocolate desserts. We enjoyed a leisurely meal & even though the restaurant was crowded, we never felt rushed. The southwestern style caesar salad was delicious as were our veggie sandwiches. Don't miss the toasted pita wedges as a starter! The milkshakes are outta sight but the best thing we ate was the chocolate pizza with the works!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPretty basic comfort-foodPretty basic comfort-food done well and with a twist - like roast-beef sandwiches on savory (not sweet) waffles - and oh, the chocolate... The chocolate martini was definitely a hit for taste (though maybe light on spirits). Perfect as a date-night stop, or a bite to eat amongst friends. Seating might be a little tight for large parties, though.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and desserts were excellent.Food and desserts were excellent. We were surprised however when we received our bill at the end for over $200 including tip for four people. We each got just sandwiches and then finished with a dessert and just did not expect it to be this expensive when it was all said and done.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFun spot for familyI took my family here for Sunday breakfast and we had a lot of fun perusing the interesting, chocolate-infused menu and trying different things. My wife and daughter especially liked the "hug mugs" and bought a couple of them for home. This was a nice last stop for a meal in Philadelphia before we left to return home to the DC area.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSo VERY GOOD!I knew anything with chocolate would be fantastic but I wasn't expecting the entrees to be so delicious!!! I had a turkey club on a rosemary infused waffle that was so good! My son had the panini which he loved. The chocolate martini was the best martini I've ever had. The desserts are to die for !!! You'll have a hard time trying to decide what to get but whatever you choose, it will be heavenly!! We brought home chocolate from the candy shop for those who weren't at lunch with us and they raved!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing service and food asAmazing service and food as usual. The place would not be as empty if the prices we not so high!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat find!Really fun place for a pre-theater meal--just a few minutes walk from Academy of Music! VERY kid friendly! Meals are innovative and delicious--but leave room for dessert. Hot chocolates are dreamy! Service was great too!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDaddy Daughter DayMe and my daughter loved our experience. My 7year old actually described her experience as divine lol. Kudos Max Brenner see you all next weekend my wife wants to try your fondue.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a return trip toThis was a return trip to Max Brenner. We were seated immediately (and a few minutes early) for our 6pm reservation (despite the lobby being packed). THANKS! The food was delicious (my husband had the proscuito waffle sandwich and I had the salmon). Milkshakes were tasty (oreo and butterscotch chocolate). Onion rings were yummy. Our desserts were great (lemon curd and white chocolate special and their version of a chocolate melting cake). Our server Dave was great. It was loud and vibrant but not annoying. Would go again as it was perfectly timed and distanced from the ballet (and Patco) for the 8pm show.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLove celebrating at max brenner!Came for the banana tempura fondue, did not disappoint! Always a great experience. Out server was so nice, accommodating and attentive. I absolutely love coming here!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal. It wasWe had a great meal. It was my twin daughter's birthday and the gift basket was wonderful. They were very accomodating when we ran late and got caught in St. Patrick's Day parade traffic.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great but since iFood was great but since i made the reservation with opentable i had a very difficult time changing the reservation which really turned me off.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGive your review a title (optional)Took my friend here for birthday dinner. We loved the white corn croquettes!! also loved their variety of chocolate drinks. Make sure to eat dinner first though! Those chocolate drinks fill you up quickly - I wasn't able to finish my B.A.L.T sandwich after having a hot white chocolate drink. Love the interior of the restaurant - it's fun and just a different set up than other restaurants - which makes it unique.12/18/2012 12:00:00 AM
