We had a marvelous time at Matthew kenney. This is our second time there. I am vegan, my husband is omnivore, and this is a restaurant on which we both agree. I can't wait to return to taste the rest of the items on the menu.

Absolutely delicious!!! While not vegan or vegetarian, after dining here, we have decided maybe we should become so. The food was light, tasted delicious, and extremely healthy. We can't believe this restaurant has been in OKC for 2 years, and we just now discovered it. We plan to take family and friends there ... and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Great Food. Creative, interesting menu. The only problem was that our table was close enough to the kitchen that the sound of the smoothie blender was loud and distracting. The open kitchen adds a lot to the ambiance, but I wonder if there's a way to minimize the noise.

Food was good, and we are not either Vegan or no-cook fans generally. Portions were very small, so expect that to get full you will need to purchase 2x what you usually do at other fine restaurants. Place was exceptionally clean and nicely furnished. Food was tasty and cleverly presented - it is a very adventurous place to try new things.

  • Excellent anniversary
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 8/26/2012
My husband and I selected this spot for our anniversary dinner. While we are not vegan, we are modestly adventurous eaters. Matthew kenney did not disappoint. The host was flexible in allowing us to move our reservation time when our early evening plans shifted. The staff were accomodating the moment we opened the door.. As we began to order, each item was explained to us, and both the staff and the chef answered any questions that we had about the food or how it was prepared. We feasted on tree nut cheeses, the ravioli, and sesame noodles, and finally ice cream. Each bite tasted bright and all of the dishes were artfully prepared. If this is vegan and raw food eating, I would never miss animal products. A wonderful experience overall.

Found this randomly on OpenTable and decided to take a chance on a different type of restaurant and we were not disappointed. Never in a million years would I think that the raw cuisine would be something that I would like. It was one of the better dinners that we have had. Dragon roll was a nice starter. We then split the chop salad for the second course. For entree we had the tortellini and the classic heirloom tomato lasagna. The tortellini was simple but exquisite. The lasagna was a perfect balance of flavors. Who would have thought that an uncooked entree could be so delicious and filliung. The only reason I didn't give the food a 5 stars was because upon second visit the white sauce wasn't as creamy and runny as before.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2004

I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something different for Valentine's Day, and this was a perfect choice. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing, and I quickly became a raw food fan. The choices of fruits, vegetables, and nuts intermingled nicely to make up the appetizers and entrees. The salads were fresh and complex, and could have been meals by themselves. The desserts were as decadent and rich as anything I've ever experienced before.

We had the best food we've had in years here! The salads in particular were so fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the tortellini and I had the sweet corn tamales for our entrees. They were both excellent. The food itself and the presentation of it is very unique. Also, I had a gingertini - sweet but good. The only area of improvement might be the lighting. The restaurant is pretty open and bright so you feel a little bit like you're on display to walker's by outside. Overall, we will definitely return to experience other items on the menu.

  • We Can Rarely Eat Out
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 12/27/2011
We enjoyed our food very much. Since we are raw foodists and live in a small town, it is rare to be able to eat out. Matthew Kenney's was perfect for our need. The food was delicious, great presentation, and the service was outstanding. It is very pricey, but we understand the labor and time involved in preparation, as well as the cost of fresh food vs. microwaved or cooked-from-a-can food. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary, and the experience at Matthew Kenney certainly fit the occasion.

The chef makes eating vegan, raw food absolutely delicious. The presentation is beautiful and you really feel good when the meal is over. You can even watch them put everything together, as the preparation area is open. The decor goes with the food: simple, elegant and modern. We thoroughly enjoyed the creative combination of seasonal foods and definitely plan to go back. Caveat: if you are looking for giant portions of meat-and-potatoestype foods, I would not go here. This is for the health-minded, adventuresome foodie.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 12/17/2011
Raw vegan meets haute cuisine. The entire vibe of this place is mellow, the food is very good, the service is outstanding. I loved the curried kelp noodles, and the Bixby chopped salad was divine. My husband and I disagreed on the lasagna. He thought the almond ricotta was overwhelming, while I think one can never have to much "cheese." Order dessert, if only to get the coconut milk ice cream. Be prepared to take your time and thoroughly enjoy your meal in a setting that encourages one to slow down and engage all his senses in a feast prepared for both the eyes and the palate.

Very tasty, inventive cuisine. Not a place for those looking for meat and potatoes. The restaurant is difficult to find, at the back end of an upscale shopping plaza, which the gps was unable to locate and there is not a map on the restaurant's website. Location aside, the restaurant is modern and sleek with an open kitchen concept. We tried the avocado roles (fresh and crisp) along with the beet gnocchi (cold) and mushroom tamales (more of a paste) followed by a trio of chocolate desserts (clove ice cream is delicious). The textures may have been a bit off, but the favors were quite good.

I got the beet gnocchi and my friend ordered the tortillas. My gnocchi were an absolutely unbearable texture. I couldn't even finish the very modest portion I received. The flavor was fine, slightly bland but the texture triggered my gag reflex in the worst way. The side of cauliflower tasted like pumpkin, which was pretty interesting and yummy even despite it's Luke-warm temperature. My friends tortillas were basically tacos made with vegetable leather tortillas that were impossible to chew and VERY salty. I had really high hopes for this restaurant and I am not a picky eater. I would never recommend it to anyone. Perhaps their salads are better?

The restaurant is 100% raw. We were so delighted that we actually went back two more times in order to try as many items on the menu as we could. It's in the middle of an Oklahoma City neighborhood, but easily accessible and very near the new Whole Foods that finally opened in OC. We follow a pretty strict vegan diet and can absolutely recommend this restaurant. Very innovative, original and delicious. Wine menu is not large, but very adequate and the wines we tried paired well with the food.

Matthew Kenney was absolutely AMAZING! The food was great (as long as you pace yourself and don't eat it like it's fast-food).The atmosphere was relaxing. The music was selected perfectly. If you wanted to listen to it, it was nice to listen to, but it was also able to fad into the background if you didn't. The service was awesome, our waitress had answers to all of our questions and was willing to talk to us when she approached. We never had to worry about anything. AND last, but definitely not least, their desserts. By far the best fudge I have ever had. Highly recommend going their if you want a night out with one person or and entire group. Just be mindful of the prices (it is not somewhere you go all the time, unless you can afford it)
