I wasn't disappointed as the Yucatan empanadas and panuchos were on the menu as well as the best huevos rancheros ever and a fantastic margarita. I wish that we had room to try more dishes and we will definitely be back! We sat in the back courtyard which is so pretty. The servies was perfect too. Don't miss this gem!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, prepared withDelicious food, prepared with care and a lot of flavor. The freshness of the ingredients and the recipes themselves are a treat. Presentation is also beautiful. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes- althugh the myago oyster salad appetizer and the Cocinita Pibit entree are outstanding.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and fresh and funMateo butcher's his own meat and makes everything from scratch using local and homegrown ingredients. It is authentic, casual, with a wonderful patio, and has really interesting flavorful food. Try the margarita caliente with the fresh fish - a great combo. Our new favorite place!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner for 3.Enjoyed dinner and the many interesting flavors created by sauces, salsas, dressings etc. Was surprised at how quickly the tab added up however. For 3 of us with only one medium priced wine........the tab together with the tip was $180 and that seemed a bit much. Ambiance was very comfortable and the service fantastic. Our waitress really knew the menu. The produce was all very very fresh.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice Spot. Great interestingNice Spot. Great interesting menu! Fun Food! Great Food!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSustainable LAtin food with a flairFinally a Latin restaurant that devotes itself to fresh, sustainable ingredients...and Mateo does it with such a creative flair! Favortie dishes: tacones - taco cones with scrumptious fillings; shredded pork marinated with achiote and pumpkin seeds topped with pickled red onions and cinnamon along with rice and microgreens. Tortillas are made fresh....and the aqua frescas are always seasonal. Service is top notch and very good at describing all dishes should you have any questions. Also - don't miss the phenomenal selection of tequilas....but get a designated driver so you can really let loose:)3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWas there on a Sunday afternoon. Was there on a Sunday afternoon. Food was above expectations and ambiance was terrific. I will return and return with friends. Unusual to find Mexican with flair and diversity. Only downside was a rather lackluster Margarita...so so.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
