We ordered three separate meals, all of which were hits but the fire and smoke reigned supreme. The mix of chipotle peppers, smoked gouda, fresh basil, garlic puree, spanish onions and fire roasted red peppers is frankly unbeatable for those that like things a little spicy. Service is usually excellent too, but my last visit was with several colleagues and the waitress didn't know the wines or beers and when we asked for change of a twenty. She brought us back the credit card slip to sign, but not the change...and looked surprised when we asked for it. There is plenty of space, nice ambience, the staff is friendly, great menu selection. I went with two coworkers for lunch the last time and our waiter split our checks without us even asking. In an area not really known for its dining experiences (Rockville), Matchbox stands out as an attractive location with very good food and service. I haven't tried the wine list, but have been very satisfied with the selection of beers on tap. Matchbox's burgers and pizzas stand out as among some of the best in the immediate area.
