Mastro's Steakhouse - ScottsdaleNew favorite steakhouse!Went for the first time for my wife's birthday. We each got the filet, it was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The wine recommendation was spot on by Frank, our server. You should ask for him when making reservations. He is a consummate professional and evokes the professionalism and outstanding customer service skills not typically displayed elsewhere.
There's live entertainment nightly in the lounge. The piano duo we saw were absolutely fantastic. So much so that we stayed for a nightcap after finishing our dinner wine in the lounge!

They have an excellent wine list and a pretty knowledgable staff on it. The Kobe steak just melted in your mouth, and not to mention the exceptional sides and dessert. The service, drinks, steak and sea food all outstanding, Warm Butter Cake really good also. The only negative thing i could mention was the table, there is a stretch of 7 or 8 tables in a row, and we sat at a table for two between two tables of four, there is barely room between the tables, but by the time we received our apps both tables were gone and no one sat at either table the rest of the time we were there. We had just returned home from Las Vegas before dining here and none of the 'named chef' restaurants we ate at in Vegas even came close to the quality of Maestros. This is a great place to take a romantic date or have a nice dinner with a group of friends. I don't think this is a good place for children however, leave them with the sitter and go out and spoil yourself! THE best steaks and sides (lobster mashed potatoes to die for). Veggies sauteed are a nice alternative to steamed, and the Triple Chocolate Layer Cake with heavy whipped cream and raspberries...OMG...our favorite dessert.
My husband ordered the Japanese Wagyu for his steak choice. Not always available on the menu, was a very special treat. This was the most tender and flavorful he has tasted, and it "melted" in your mouth.

The food is consistently wonderful, & the service is outstanding. Your every need is anticipated, & they check back often to make sure. The steaks are tender, flavorful & served on sizzling platters. But they also do a great job on seafood, too. Appetizers & side dishes are amazing. Nice choices in wine by the glass. Drinks are generous. Fun touches on the cocktails, like dry ice for drama. Although I prefer a romantic dinner in the dining room area, the bar scene is vibrant. Always great music in the bar, but if dining and conversation are the goals, you'll prefer the dining room. Save room for dessert. The service was outstanding. Highly recommend you request Frank and Dustin for wait staff. They were terrific and really added to an already terrific evening.

Escargot, bone in filets, veal chop and rack of lamb were all excellent. Wine list was very good and the suggestions were spot on.

The quality and selection of the food were superb and the service was very accommodating. If the bread and cheese selections were "plain," the egg dishes were well-prepared and the fish was exceedingly fresh (monster-size prawns, delicious ceviche, etc.). Don't pass on the "bottomless" Mimosa/Bloody Mary $20 option. And remember that most of the menu items are available during — and included in the price of — the brunch.
