  • "Probably one of the best steaks I ever had. Service was great. Only issue is this place is REALLY expensive! For special occasions only."

  • "Mastro's continues to impress after all these years. Great food, arrives hot, STAYS hot, and HUGE portions. Good value for money, although admittedly not inexpensive. Love the wait staff - my water glass was never empty."

  • "I took a dinner date to Mastro's and she is very dear to me. Normally I would not take her to a place I was not very familiar with but Open Table has never steered me wrong so I took a chance. We had great fun exploring the menu and the wine list together with the great assistance of our server. The rooftop lounge was the perfect finishing touch for dinner and the start of the rest of the evening."

  • "I love this place, this was not my first time, I took my daughter for her 28th birthday and we had a really nice time. I plan on returning soon. I love the idea of the shared steaks. The broccoli was cooked to perfection and the lobster mash is always perfect. Walked out of there under $300 - GREAT!"

  • "For a steak house the signature bone in rib eye steak I was served was terrible. I had to spit out more than 50% of the meat I put in my mouth because it was so gristly and chewy that it was impossible to swallow. I didn't kick up a stink simply because I was with overseas guests who had just flown in from Europe and were looking to eat a quick dinner and go to their hotel and get some rest. I certainly will not be going back."

  • "Mastro's is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Beverly Hills for a great meal!"

  • "This was a good choice for our friends visiting from Switzerland and celebrating their anniversary. Steaks cooked as ordered and very tasty. Signature salad and garlic lobster potatoes were delicious. Excellent wine list. Requested a quieter area to make sure we could talk and this request was satisfied."

  • "I have been a loyal Mastros' customers, have dined there quite often and also every year to celebrate my birthday. We were seated downstairs, which is no comparison with 2nd floor. Our server was great, but he seems overwhelmed. The delivery time of our food was very choppy, 35 minutes for the seafood tower, another 20 minutes before our lobster bisque and then another 30 minutes before our chef rib-eye came out. No one checks up on us during that time. We waited ~ 1 1/2 hours for the steak. The seasoning or the rub for the steak is way off, tasted very bland and it was cut off very poorly. My business partner has echoed similar experiences few weeks ago they dined at Mastros. Very discouraging as I know Mastros hold highest standard."

  • "I've eaten here four times over the last several years and I love coming here despite all its excess. This place is first and foremost a steakhouse - a big, loud, obnoxious steak house. Nothing here is subtle - loud music (played live or recorded), ginormous proportions (DO NOT order a side of fries or a dessert for yourself alone!), garish decor, and garishly-dressed patrons who arrive in German luxury cars, Italian sports cars, or brand new Rolls Royces. In short, it's a place that Putin's 1% would frequent. Still this restaurant delivers with exotic appetizers (shrimp cocktail served on a bed of dry ice), delicious steaks served on a 400 degree plate, decadent sides (try the lobster mash!), and decadent desserts (get the buttercake!)."

  • "Mediocre food quality, noisy & very crowded, just a few inches of space between our table & next 2."

  • "Wonderful special occasion restaurant. Service was excellent as was the entrees. Salads did not match the rest of the quality of the other dishes. Very pricey which is consistent with the Beverly Hills imagery and presentation to the consumer."

  • "Starting with our waiter, his service, the food and our first time being there, made for an unforgettable experience. Definitely will go there again one day. Perfect for special occasions or just a night on the town. Our waiter was extremely helpful and helped make us feel very welcome , especially , since it was our first time there. Had a wonderful time, can't wait to do it again"

  • "Wanted to say that I noted on opentable reservation "notes section" that my husband and I were celebrating our 8th year wedding anniversary and how we love the butter cake. The waitress brought our butter cake and on it they wrote "happy 8th wedding anniversary". I love how they pay attention to details including my reservation notes. The food and service was outstanding as usual. Will definitely be back soon."

  • "From the warm welcome to the pleasurable thank yous' it was a great experience. The food was full of flavor. The lighting made great for a romantic dinner. The live music was at a perfect volume and up to date. We found ourselves quetly singing along many times. . They even joined in to singing happy b day for the table next to mine. It was just a little crowded and the tables a little small. But the service was aware of this and did a great job managing table space. It was a plesure interacting with every employee. All in all we had a great experiance. Even when I accidently payed less than what the bill they handled it professionally and courteously."

  • "Overpriced, loud, cramped table and bad service for, at best, mediocre food. I think this restaurant is living on a false reputation"

  • "World famous, but our service was poor and it was just a steak. Go to Buchon across the street for real food."

  • "This being our first visit to Mastro's and hearing many wonderful reviews, we was not disappointed. Service from every staff member was impeccable - from reception to wait staff and servers. The attention to detail was much appreciated. Food is plated dramatically and is the finest quality and preparation. Our out of town guests were treated to a very memorable evening."

  • "Loved this place. This place has great atmosphere. Upstairs inside was a bit noisy but we got given a table the patio which have us a great view of all the amazing cars pulling up. Service was very good. We were dining as a couple but inside would be great of you were with a group out for some fun. Bar area was busy so chairs were few and far between but otherwise a great spot."

  • "We wanted an elegant evening with a upscale menu. The experience was top notch. Mastro's called prior to confirm and even called the day after to thank us and to ask about our dining. We went early because we had young kids. The restaurant was very accommodating. Put us in a private wine room. Portions were large. Could have shared. Waiter Gary was extremely knowledgeable and we were served food to our perfection. Everyone was friendly and we learned about the food we were served and how to order the next time we come. Outstanding."

  • "I've been to Mastro's several times and this time was pretty poor. The lobster mashed potatoes (always a favorite) were way too liquid - almost sent them back to be honest. They were swimming! The steak was fair but not spectacular. For a $98 tomahawk steak it should have been cooked properly - overcooked and under seasoned. Won't be going back any time soon. In addition, it was way too loud - couldn't even hear ourselves speak to each other. So very disappointed for such a very expensive ticket. $400 and a bad meal is not a good return."

  • "New to LA and I still have to get used to walking into a dark oak-paneled hideaway from the early summer evening sun... but once my eyes adjusted I went with the flow. The steaks are phenomenal and worth the indulgence. Trefethen Cabernet, caesar salad, bone-in filet, lobster mashed potatoes, crab truffle gnocchi, chocolate sin cake... in a word... WOW! It was worth the calories and co$t. Definitely great for a special occasion, but a dinner for 3 set me back close to $500 with the tip. We were celebrating so it was fine, and my stomach was beyond satisfied, but I couldn't do this all the time! Service is great and it was buzzing for a Tuesday night."

  • "Yikes, where has the quality at Mastro's gone? Are they so reliant on the celeb-spotting vibe that they decided to let go of the kitchen staff. My visit to Mastro's on June 13, was just plain awful. If I order a porterhouse medium-rare, it better not come out well done. Our substitute waitress (helping out for an absentee waiter, Jason), was visibly embarrassed to serve the steak, and offered to send it back before it hit the table. The kitchen's second attempt was equally off, sending out a blue-rare steak that was icy-cold in the center. I was left with two inedible steaks, cold sides, a resounding lack of service, and a hefty check. Money better spent elsewhere."

  • "I took my fiance there for his birthday. None of us had been there, but I was excited after reading the great reviews. It was the best place we have ever eaten, and we go to out a lot. If I were to choose my last meal, it would be from there."

  • "Consistently outstanding food and service. Butter cake to die for. The restaurant is dark which makes menu reading impossible without help from a waiter's or cell flashlight."

  • "We went to Mastro's to celebrate my son's graduation from UCLA. The food and service were superb, but every is priced a bit over the top. When we arrived, the hostess asked if we wanted to see the wine list and I was given a list with the least expensive bottle priced at $105! Reluctantly, I ordered one, which I fortunately was able to cancel when the menus arrived. On the left side of the dining menu, there was a second reasonably priced wine list priced at $40-$80. That was fine. We ordered an excellent wine for $46. The seafood tower was exquisite and the steaks were perfect. Mastro's comped us a chocolate cake with "Congratulations" in Chocolate sauce around the edge of the plate. We all appreciated the gesture."

  • "Really enjoyed eating here for my father's birthday. We frequent many steak houses, and this is definitely one of the bests! Side note: Get the mushrooms as a side! I'm not a huge mushroom fan and these were FANTASTIC!"

  • "This was my first time in Los Angeles and came here to treat my wife to an early mothers day dinner. We tried the porter house and it was a lot of food for 2 ppl imo. BEST STEAK WE EVER HAD! The drinks wore also a highlight of the occasion and we both had a great time."

  • "Although this place made for a fun night out, I think it was just to say we've gone. I'm a HUGE steak person, and some may say I'm a steak snob. I know a quality steak... And hands down Ruth's Chris has a better tasting steak than Mastros. Mastro's steak was very under seasoned and pretty tasteless even with added salt. Cooked perfectly medium rare but no taste. Also, they sat us right next to the bar which was extremely loud, had to yell to hear each other. Also, tables extremely close, could hear word for word their conversation. For the price, I wouldn't come back here and go to Ruth's Chris to get an amazing steak, and for a cheaper price. Also better atmosphere there. Cool to say we've gone though! "

  • "This restaurant is too crowded, too dark and too loud. I must have bumped into 15 chairs just getting to our table, possibly because it was so dark I couldn't see where I was going. It was impossible to have a conversation -- it was more like a shouting match just to be heard. The steak was nothing special and had too much gristle in it for what they charge. The only things I can applaud were the mashed potatoes and the chocolate layer cake. All of that being said, our waitress, Sara, was fabulous."
