The food, service and ambiance
were perfect. We had salmon oscar and rack of lamb, both were perfectly cooked and delicious. The service was very attentive, we had a nice window seat, and the live piano provided the perfect soundtrack for a romantic evening."

My husband, daughter, and I ate
here for my birthday dinner. We originally tried to get a reservation at Ruth's Chris or Flemings, but due to the Valentine's Day weekend crowd, we couldn't get into either of those. I've always loved Massimo's, but I just forget that it's an option. I'm so glad I remembered it this time!! My husband and I both had the New York Strip special. It was perfect! Sliced thin on a bed of mushroom risotto with crumbles of gorgonzola - yum! My daughter had the Carbonara, and she loved it, too. She and I shared a side of brussel sprouts (cuz we're a little obsessed with the things!) Will definitely keep Massimo's in the forefront of my mind from now on. Truly a neighborhood gem!"

This was our third dinner in the
past 5 months and each time seemed better than the last. Delightful staff & service, the starters, salads, entrees & desserts all delicious. Look forward to the next trip in! There is a reason this gem has stood up to the test of time."

If you want an excellent Italian
meal this place can not be beat!!"
Dined on 2/5/2014
Our food was fantastic! Truffle
ravioli was great. Drinks were also good. Atmosphere was a little louder and boisterous than we had anticipated, especially on a late Sunday night. But loved the food and service was very attentive."

We go to Massimo's a couple of
times a year, and always have great food and great service."

Despite living in the east bay for
more than 20 years, this is the first time we been to Massimo's. It will not be the last. Wife had the Veal Piccata - which we both agreed was among the best we've ever had. We shared the iceberg wedge salad. It came with a creamy Italian dressing that was quite unique and very delicious. I had the porcini and black truffle ravioli - it was good, though I thought the sauce was a little heavy. We also got the fritti misti (fried calamari and shrimp) - pretty standard (I'm not a big fan of fried food). Though we dipped it in our remaining salad dressing - and that was very tasty. Service was excellent. Our waiter Tim was very friendly and knowledgeable (I would definitely ask for him)."

Excellent food and service. Took
the parents here. Best place in WC I think."
Dined on 1/11/2014
Good choices for all tastes on the
menu. Very tasty and well seasoned. Hard to find a good American restaurant in W Creek, nowadays. So, we enjoyed it very much. Would definitely come back again."
Dined on 1/7/2014
My husband and I have been coming
to Massimo's for over ten years now. We always receive great service and excellent food."
Dined on 1/3/2014
We booked Massimo for the 4th
straight time to spend our New Years Eve celebration and everything was perfect. Starting with getting our favorite table for the entire night, the food, the dancing and midnight celebration, and mostly our wonderful server Shawna and our gracious host Max."
Dined on 12/31/2013
A great place for a business
lunch. Good food, good service, little distractions. To be fair I also took my wife there for Valentine's Day. It was perfecto!"
Dined on 12/20/2013
Massimo's has a wonderful menu
full of delicious entrees. It's hard to choose just one! I heartily recommend the cannelloni cannelloni cannelloni"
Dined on 12/14/2013
Arrived few minutes before our
reservation time for 4 and hostess could not find the resrvation. She told us no table was available. They had open tables but claimed all were reserved. The manager told us open table people do not show up so they disregarded them. After 20 min wait we were getting ready to go elsewhere when they miraculously found us a table. Since it was late we stayed. Food was mediocre and noise levels were annoying. Hard to talk. Manager refused any accomodation for our inconvenience. Would not even waive the corkage fee. Unbeleivable arrogance with no customet orientation. Will never return and suggest everyone go elsewhere. Many other better restaurants in Walnut Creek."

All dressed up for the Holidays!
Not me - but Massimo! So festive and beautiful. The pianist was wonderful - providing live holiday music throughout dinner. Each plate was beautifully presented and the food was delicious. I finally tried something different - the specialty pasta and it was wonderful. Thank you for another memorable and delightful evening! Service was excellent. We will be back very soon."
Dined on 12/7/2013
The owner has a terrible attitude
and could care less about the quality of the food they serve. Do not frequent this restaurant."
Dined on 11/22/2013
all was well, the food was good
and very good. not a new favorite but would return without hesitation."
Dined on 11/20/2013
This place is great for food and
wine a must try by me!"
Dined on 11/16/2013
Haven't been back to Massimo for a
few years but remember them from several restaurant walk samplings. Service was excellent.Split the bruchetta and an order of mussels for a first course andf they were excellent. We ordered the spegetti and meatballs.(In the mood for comfort food) as an entre and it was spot on!. Enjoyed the meal and will return again."

We went to Massimo's prior to
going to see a play at the Regional Center across the street. I usually love carbonara of any kind so I ordered their Carbonara special. First of all, there were these little "twigs" on top of the pasta. As I ate, I discovered that some of them were so tough that they couldn't be eaten. Our waitperson found out that they were leeks of some kind. Awfully tough leeks! When I was mostly done eating, I discovered a wrapped candy in the dish! I immediately showed our waitperson. The manager apologized and told me that he would remove the carbonara dish from our bill. He also offered a free dessert that I shared with my two companions. I should mention that they said that their food was pretty good."
Dined on 11/2/2013
We loved the veal scaloppini, and
the pork chop, but at the end of the meal the regular, and cappuccino coffees were disappointing. The coffee should be commensurate with the great quality of the entree."
Dined on 11/2/2013
Have been to the restaurant
multiple times and have always enjoyed the food. At times it is noisy but not too bad this time. Love their wine selection but a bit steep in price."
Dined on 10/31/2013
We were greeted by Max, the owner,
and promptly seated at a nice booth for this special night for our friend. The food was absolutely delicious. LeeAnn was delightful as our server. A great Sunday night excursion."
Dined on 10/28/2013
We had a very nice meal. The
mussels were awesome! We shared a Caesar Salad and it was plenty for two. I would have liked a little more dressing but I think there was plenty for most. The stuffed pork shined above the veal piccata; however the veal was tender and the sauce was very good. The waiter attended to our needs but was not intrusive. All in all, Massimo's was a great choice for a tasty meal."
Dined on 10/27/2013
This is truly an amazing
restaurant, that is why it has been in business for 35 years. If you have not been yet you are missing out. The food is always perfect in taste and presentation, we have never been disappointed. We have many favorites but here is two I would suggest, RISOTTO DEL CINGHIALE which is a Creamy Mushroom Risotto and Wild Boar Ragu and LINGUINI MASSIMO, Manila Clams, P.E.I. Mussels, Jumbo Prawns, Pancetta, Chorizo, Garlic, Cream. The service equally is fantastic."
Dined on 10/26/2013
We like this restaurant . The menu
offers many choices. The service is good ad the owner is very observant . The restaurant is steeped in professional courtesy."
Dined on 9/29/2013
The food and the service were top
notch and the outside seating was delightful. A good time was had by our whole party!"
Dined on 9/28/2013
We really enjoyed sitting on the
street side, outdoors. Food and wine were both great although the variety offered was short."
Dined on 9/18/2013
I don't know why I had not
explored this restaurant before, as we visit this area often and always dine out. I am glad we discovered Mossimo. Nice atmosphere, very good food and attentive service."
Dined on 9/15/2013
There was as mix up with the bill
which wasn't noticed until after we had left. We were charged full price for the wine which was supposed to be half price for the month of August. Max, the manager, was very understanding and apologetic about it and immediately took steps to give us a refund. All around a very good dinner."
Dined on 8/31/2013
Everything was fantastic!! Great
service (Shawna), incredible food, sooooo delicious- superb ambience! Can't wait to go back and bring friends...."
Dined on 8/25/2013
Been there several times. Food and
choices are excellent. Always an enjoyable experience."
Dined on 8/25/2013
Our table had the pork chop,
calamari and steak and all of my companions gave rave reviews. I had been looking for a good calamari appetizer and theirs won. And the panna cotta is a must espcially with extra raspbery sauce. The piano music added to the event. Everything was topped off with the excellent wait staff. My friend from Miami was quite impressed"
Dined on 8/18/2013
We had a great dining experience
"again" at Massimo Ristorante. Max knows how to treat his customers. The food is wonderful and the service is gracious and the experience is dining - not eating."
Dined on 8/18/2013
Ambience, service and wine was
excellent. I had the stuffed pork chop and it was over cooked and dry. My dinner partner had the duck and it was wonderful. I was in the midst if a business dinner and could not afford to disrupt the flow of the evening by sending it back. I would give this place another try. Great back corner booth if you want quiet conversation."
Dined on 7/19/2013
Carpet has a smell that ruins the
whole experience - I don't know if it is water damage but it is such a pity..."
Dined on 7/12/2013
We have dined here a number of
times and are never disappointed. The atmosphere is refined and romantic with live piano music. Service is always spot on, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient, this time provided by Terry. Our entrees (Peking duck breast and leg confit, and the Prawns Putanesca) were excellent. We also had a tasty jumbo prawn cocktail appetizer. There is a creative specialty cocktail list and an extensive wine list with about 30 wines by the glass. Nothing was lacking on this visit and we are already looking forward to the next one."
Dined on 6/30/2013
My wife and I paid another visit
to this terrific restaurant with a friend visting from out of state. As always, the food was great, the service enthusiastic and friendly. I had the Linguine Massimo, one of my favorite dishes. If you like Italian food (who doesn't?) you will love this place."
Dined on 7/6/2013
Uniquely charming setting in
downtown Walnut Creek, Massimos offered a quiet dining experience made easy by exceptional and attentive wait staff. We started with prawn cocktail which was quite filing. My entree was veal which was ok. My Pop had salmon which was quite tasty. The bar was open and drinks were ordered. Downtown parking is easy before five in the afternoon, otherwise valet is available after five o'clock."
Dined on 6/28/2013
If you are attending the W.C.
Lesher Theater. I strongly suggest that you have dinner at Massimo first. The food the ambiance and the noise level are all a great preparation for enjoying a theater performance. The menu is eclectic and the wine list superb and . the servers are exceptionally cordial and helpful. The appetizer selections are classic . I strongly suggest the Carpcrcio and Calamari Fritti are very good , the salads are crisp and flavorful and large enough to be shared., the entrees are fresh and varied. I particularly liked the Wild Boar Risotto. The desserts and port selections are rich and varied. All of them are very good unless you're watching your weight."
