Masraff's on Post Oak Blvd is a casually elegant upscale restaurant owned and operated by Houston restaurateurs, Tony and Russell Masraff. The restaurant has quickly become a local favorite with it's unique American cuisine and contemporary ambiance. We had our usual favorite appetizers of the garlic-seared calamari steak, flavored with reduced sweetened soy sauce, oyster mushrooms, mild purple onion slices, and the equally fantastic wild mushroom ravioli with truffled lemon sage broth. My wife then enjoyed the lamb chops, and I had one of the best servings of King Salmon I've ever been served. When I informed our server I was not a fan of Brussels sprouts, a substitution of asparagus was made without problem. Wine selection by the glass was excellent and varied."

  • "As much as we love the food at Masraff's (and we REALLY do!), we go on Wednesdays to hear Harry Sheppard play in the lounge. He is an amazing jazz vibraphonist. Blend the music with incredible service and inventive and delicious food, and it adds up to a wonderfully uplifting evening. We requested a particular table when we made the reservation, but sadly, it was not reserved for us. We chose another table and moved it around a bit so we could see Harry better. All's well that ends well."

This was going to be one of my best sales opportunities for the year, so I put special notes in my request for a table. I was unsure as to whether they would even be noticed when I showed. They were beyond noticed! The hostess escorted my customer to me because she watched where I went in the bar to wait. The table provided was a perfect, round corner table with little noise for our party of 5. Appetizers recommended were spot on. Patience in the wait staff to time approaches coincided with our business conversation flow. Entrees, desserts, and wine were all devoured similarly. Everyone at the table raved! Brilliant!"

  • "My wife ordered the Salmon and specifically asked for it to be without the skin, - but when the food came out it was with the skin! My Fillet was supposed to be medium well & came out medium to medium rare. They took it back and recooked it to a crispy tough meat. My brother ordered the lamb chops - the were COLD on the inside - like out of the freezer! Though they prepared another serving, the dinner was already messed up so bad that it was comical. We were beyond complaining. No offer of food comp or even a dessert for the kitchen's disastrous performance. Have to compliment the service. It was exceptional & that only saving grace-reason for the fair rating. Don't know if we will go back or recommend the restaurant."

The hostesses (who were great) called back and Mr. Masraff personally came down and gave me a detailed explanation of some choices on the menu and took my order. When we arrived later that evening, everything was already set up, our food came out at a perfect pace, and every course was fantastic. It was a perfect experience for my wife and I."

  • "If you have a special occasion, this is the place to make a reservation. We sat next to a large business group, but they tend to leave early. The place will quiet down after 7 p.m. We had foie gras for appetizer, Duet (tuna & scallops) and swordfish for entrees. Tuna was excellent. Strongly recommended if you are OK with raw fish. Apple pie, crème brulee and espresso ended our delightful dinner, which lasted for 2 hours. My daughter and I shared everything, and extra plates were offered cheerfully. Thank you, Brian for your great service."

I adored our wait staff, unfortunately I forgot her name but she was on point from the beginning to the end. The food was ok, my meat (Coffee Rubbed Filet Mignon) was a bit over the medium I asked but it was still good. Will definitely visit again when I go back to Houston."

  • "My date had the coffee rubbed filet mignon. He said there was too much coffee on it. He likes the one at Backstreet Cafe better. I had the duet of seared hawaiian tuna and scallops. My entree came with two slices of tuna and exactly two scallops. I left there still hungry. Not worth the $28. And I'm the type to go to Killeen's and overpay for an amazing piece of steak. A friend recommended this place and said their food was absolutely delicious. It's good, but not great. I was disappointed. Sorry guys, but your food did not impress. I am not coming back."
