  • "Our waitress heard that we were celebrating a birthday, so she put a candle on our dessert. It was a very nice surprise and much appreciated!"

  • "Our server was friendly, attentive, knew the menu, offer great suggestions. The restaurant was full, with two very large parties. However, the food arrived promptly. Good happy hour till 7:00. The black bean dipping sauce served with the edamame was delicious! The tuna tartar with the wantons was very fresh tasting, seasoned well and delicious. The shrimp coconut curry was some of the best I have ever had. Full of shrimp and veggies in a wonderful broth. The Pad Thai was a bit sweet but it is a large portion and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The beef wrapped around asparagus was also a generous portion, the meat tender and the sauce very good. I would highly recommend Masa."

  • " The food is great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Tuna Steak is the best I have had. Will be going back again and again."

  • "We all enjoyed our dinners, from the friend who had sushi to two of us who tried something new on the menu. Two of my friends had never been to Masa; they were very pleased."

  • "My only complaint was the noise level and nearness to other diners' tables. Service was great and food we'll prepared and prompt."

  • "This was the first time I used Open Table to dine out in Tallahassee. Dining in Florida's capital tends to southern and heavy foods. But Masa was a great find through Open Table. Incredible oriental slant to Thai and Japanese food. Will plan to go back there when I visit."

  • " A varied menu including Japanese & Thai dishes ensured that there was something for everyone in our party. Loved the steamed dumplings and the uniquely prepared calamari! The sushi was very fresh and delicious. My family members enjoyed the pad Thai, udon noodle soup w/tempura soup & chicken fried rice. Staff was very professional and courteous. So thrilled to find a terrific asian restaurant near my son's college. We'll definitely dine here again!"

  • "First and foremost the food was fabulous. The disappointing part for me; my reservation request was not met. The service was slow. The noise level was a little high. The food prices were a little high as well... Dropped $140 for 4 people and no one even had drinks. I will say (as earlier stated), the food was really good. If you don't mind a wait, above average food prices and some good food... Then hey, head out to Masa."

  • "I booked because of the range of options and prices on the menu. I was shocked at the large portion of seafood I received for the price. My food was great and tasted fresh. I went earlier in the evening because I had an infant and was accommodated. The waitress was attentive. Great experience and we plan to go back."

  • "Chose Masa for our 40th Anniversary dinner. They did not disappoint. Food, service, ambience was outstanding. Great food for a reasonable price. And when they found out it was our Anniversary they surprised us with a great dessert. Continues to be one of the top five restaurants in Tallahassee!"

  • "I enjoy having dinner with friends and frequently invite them to join me at MASA. I have a friend who visits from Britain twice a year and always indicates MASA as her restaurant of choice when I suggest we go out for dinner. The food is consistent and the atmosphere very welcoming. I also recommend the restaurant to friends."

  • "I booked using OpenTable for 11:00 am slot on Mothers Day. Arrived to find restaurant did not open until noon. No one wanted to wait outside or in the car for an hour, so we left. Masa claimed that OpenTable changed the setting for opening time. Doubt I will trust or use OpenTable again"

  • "During my visit to Masa I enjoyed the food very much, and the service was excellent. The only things I didn't like was the noise, there aren't really any partitions or objects in the decor that will absorb sound, so the place was a little noisier than I would have liked, but still a great dinner."

  • "Very Nice menu with attractive presentation. Fresh sushi and interesting seafood dishes. Definitely a go to place in Tallahassee."

  • "We booked a table at Masa because Open Table showed a reservation available at the time we needed. It was our first time there, and what a pleasant experience! The food was memorable, especially the Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the service was impeccable - on-going but not intrusive. We will definitely eat here again!"

  • "Went here for my daughter's birthday. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We ordered tuna steak, duck, and Chilean Seabass. They all were prepared superbly. Even though the place was packed there is enough space between tables to feel like you are just with your group. It was a lovely evening!"

  • "Masa is an asian fusion restaurant that has a little bit of everything. The food is great and the service is good also. The dining area is not large, but it seems sufficient. Anything from sushi to thai food is available. The Volcano Oysters were wonderful. I would highly recommend this place."

  • "Masa has never disappointed me. It continues to be my favorite restaurant in town and lives up to my expectations every time. Even though I went on Valentine's Day (I used Open Table to make reservations weeks in advance) and it was extremely busy, the waiter took great care of our table, the food was served promptly and was delicious."

  • "I was promptly seated at the time of my reservation. A server was with my party within a few minutes. I was there for a business lunch. The food came out quickly and it was an excellent meal."

  • "I had the Tuna Steak slightly seared. It was great. The flavor was very fresh and you could taste the grilled flavor. The Philadelphia roll was excellent. You could taste the smokiness in the smoked salmon. The service and food was excellent. Made reservations and got right on in. Will definitely be going back."

  • "Visited Tallahassee on a business trip and Masa was recommended. Ended up dining there 2 of our 3 evenings in town. Started out with the calamari appetizer. Tasty and different from any other calamari I've had. Portion size was adequate for 3. For dinner we tried Grilled Garlic Sesame Glazed Salmon and Pad Se-ew. Salmon was great, a tad dry but very flavorful. The Pad se-ew was the right spiciness (the server took great care to guage the orderer's desire). In fact, that dish was repeated on the second night. After seeing the sushi walk by the table so many times, I tried that the second night. Was not disappointed. Highly recommend, we will be back."

  • "Masa has a unique and varied menu, and is not just for sushi lovers. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were non-sushi entrees, with good sized portions and a decent value for the price."
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "The calamari appetizer was great and so was the peanut butter pie dessert. The Chilled wines always come in a chilled wine glass which keeps the wine cold. I was somewhat disappointed in the Chilean sea bass. It usually is very tasty but it lacked flavor and was somewhat mushy this time. Service was good."
    Dined on 12/17/2013
  • "My only problem was that the restaurant only served beer wine and sake."
    Dined on 12/14/2013
  • "Great food. Very good service. The spacing was a bit tight, as we were along the wall, and servers w/food trays could barely get by, whenever another person was nearby, serving the tables near us. Noise level was higher than usual (graduation weekend). Otherwise, all was very positive."

  • "Come for the fabulous sushi, well-chosen wine, and delicious hot dishes. We had Thai coconut curry, a sushi roll, a bok choy and fried tofu dish with perfectly cooked bok choy, amazing vegetable dumplings, and a calamari appetizer. They're one of the few Tallahassee fine dining restaurants open Sunday nights, and we are so glad! Delightful, savory meal. And with appetizers, entrees, and wine, we still didn't break the bank. Don't expect your wait staff to be well-informed, but do enjoy the seasonally fresh and wonderful menu."

  • "the service was pretty awful. They were packed and very busy so, I understand the wait staff being harried. But, there wasn't even so much as an acknowledgement that it took 15 minutes to get our drinks or refills on water or tea. We are loyal fans of their "cousin?" Azu and wanted to try the downtown version. The atmosphere tried to be cooler but our table for 6 rocked when you moved your plate and the lack of elbow room was irritating. As I said, the food was OK. It might have been better had it come out in a more timely fashion. However, the salad that I'd been warned was super spicy must have been mixed up with someone's request for plain lettuce. We may give them another chance but with Azu just down the road, we may not."
