This is the second time I've been to Masa. The food is great as is the service. My only complaint is the extremely uncomfortable chairs. We were a party of 3 and all agreed that the discomfort we felt from the chairs was enough for us not to come back to the restaurant. The powers that be at Masa should sit in the chais for an hour and see how they feel.

Met with a couple of friends for dinner on Saturday night. Place was hopping. We had reservations ( would recommend that) and we were seated promptly. Definitely would recommend the Margaritas ( spendy at $10 but worth it). The one with habanero was fantastic. Food was excellent. Sound level in the restaurant made it hard to hear our server but we had no problems with our own conversations at our table. Great views of Nicollet Mall. Will definitely be back

We enjoyed our meal at Mass for several reasons. When making the reservation I requested a quiet spot and the hostess gave us several to choose from. She also took our coats and hung them on hooks near the host stand. The waiter appeared immediately to take our drink orders. My husband is vegetarian and the Mexican cuisine gives him many options. Having said that I appreciate unique Mexican food and good sangria and Margaritas and Masa has both. The drinks and entrees are more expensive than the Mexican restaurant in Eat Street but the location was perfect for a pre-concert meal as it is across the street from Orchestra Hall. The servers were very attentive, filling our water glasses often, bringing extra chips, and clearing our plates. The coffee was fresh and hot and the dessert menu looked amazing but we were too full to indulge. We'll be back!

I enjoy MASA for pre-concert dining (with a great margarita,) happy hour and when I brought my vegetarian nephew they were very accomadating. Last year was there with a group of about 10 and that worked well, too. I love the decor, and it is busy and energetic without too much noise - so yes, you can have dinner conversation without shouting.

In an effort to provide good and attentive service, the wait staff and managers are ENDLESSLY stopping by to inquire "if everything is all right." Please STOP!! You are way TOO ATTENTIVE, to the point of constantly interrupting table conversation. We object to be interrupted and disturbed so often. If there are any problems, leave it to us to tell you. Thank you.

This is a great spot for a quick dinner before a concert at Orchestra Hall. I have enjoyed the food in the past, but I ordered the three taco dish this time and found it to be quite average. Other dishes looked quite good and the desserts were tasty.

Overall nice evening out. Sat in the bar for a bit, was treated well with attentive service. Wine list is extensive. Once we were transferred over to the main dining room, still experienced top notch service. Wife had the sea bass (after being recommended by friends) and deemed it too fishy. I had the hanger steak and it was fantastic. Very tricky to cook correctly and it was perfect. Wonderful dessert (ice cream and four layer cake). Overall good night. We will be back.

Chicken Tortilla soup - this was prepared different than what I have had in the past, well with the exception of the garnish of tortilla strips. It was a bit tangy/with some heat and I'm a fan of both. Chicken tacos with chipotle crema - it was nice a moist. The later sound of sniffles was a sign that the heat sneaks up on you --and I love dishes that give me the satisfying sniffles. Carnitas torta - who doesn't love roast pork??? The only issue was I finished only half of it because it seemed quite dry, plus I was filled up.

My third time there and this restaurant continues to impress me. We went with a party of three and we were all impressed. Nice attention to details, that don't seem to be the norm anymore. for example.....water glasses were always filled, and when someone got up the napkin was re-folded. The servers as well as other wait staff all had a good grasp of the menu. Also...Hat's off to the bartender...great drinks.

You wouldn't expect to travel the heart of the Midwest for good Mexican cuisine, but that's exactly what happened. Our research team wanted to gather for dinner the night before our presentation. I found Masa on open table and if my position on the team wasn't't solid before, it is now. The food was fantastic--true Mexican flavors with fresh ingredients. All 9 in our group were happy with their meal. The only downside--we enjoyed our food so much, we almost forgot to talk about work.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2013

Upon reading the reviews online, which stated things like this was the best Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico, we decided to give it a try. This was most definitely NOT the best Mexican food outside of Mexico, for that matter it wasn't even close to being the best Mexican food in Minnesota. There were three of us dining and not one of us enjoyed our meal. The food was lukewarm at best when served to us and all dishes, two different taco plates, one tamale plate and two aps, were bland and flavorless. They boast wonderful margaritas and sangrias; however, I would suggest that rethink that boast, perhaps they might consider adding some alcohol. We each had one WEAK drink and then switched to water, it was stronger.
