As a vegetarian, I'm always worried that I won't be able to find suitable dining options, but I found so many choices as did my carnivore family! I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants a fabulous brunh experience. And the pickleback shot was out of this world as was the cornbread with assorted spreads.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in BostonThis is my new most favorite restaurant in Boston! I loved the Santa Fe Eggs Benedict! An extremely enjoyable meal!.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Food & ServiceWhen my "foodie" family visists Boston I am always a bit nervous making the restaurant choices. That being said, Masa was a HUGE hit! I have eaten dinner there a few times and been to the tapas happy hour more times than I would care to admit- but this was my first brunch, and it held up! The Southwestern Eggs Bennedict was the gem of the morning and the jams they served with their cornbread were SUPERB! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and while the restaurant was packed, we never once felt rushed to leave. I highly recommend this South End gem and will be going back soon myself!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious & very affordable brunchLove the brunch here. Oh-so-yummy and only $7.95 including coffee. Just wish the parking situation was a bit better, but that's the city...5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMarvelous for Cinco de Mayo!My fiancé, mother and two friends chose Masa to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The appetizer was amazing - seared scallops with bbq duck! For the main course - My husband had the Steak Frites and I was jealous! Although I thoroughly enjoyed my Horseradish encrusted salmon served on top of cucumbers and cilantro! The dessert was outstanding - melted dark chocolate with vanilla bean ice cream on top of a corn husk! I practically licked the chocolate off of the husk! Bonus - 1/2 price bottles of wine! It was very interesting to people watch - average age was 25 years old with lots of couples and groups of young women! I know that Boston is a college town but it's hard to imagine that all these 20 somethings can afford the prices.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMservice was a little slow, service was a little slow, but good overall. restaurant week menu was delicious.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food and good atmosphere.Delicious food and good atmosphere. Dinner felt rushed - I like taking my time, and because it was restaurant week and we ordered everything at once, it came out in quite a succession - but was very enjoyable. Definitely planning on dragging my friends for $8 brunch, I hear it's great!
Also - their bar is beautiful. Definitely want to come back for drinks.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AlwaysGreat food and service. Would definately reccomend.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother gem in Boston! We've been wanting to try out Masa for a while but just never got the chance. When we saw the Restaurant Week menu, we decided it was time to stop putting it off. Three of us dined on this occasion and all three of us agree that of our several restaurant week experiences, Masa is indeed in the top five experiences! Great food, beautifully prepared and presented, even with substitutions made for folks like me who have picky stomachs. The waitress was very accommodating and informative. Our beverages from the bar were top notch and very unique! We will definitely we heading to Masa again for another great dining experience!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch with a groupGreat brunch with a group of friends before the St. Patrick's Day parade. Service is good, food is tasty and you can't beat the price.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe brunch here is WONDERFULThe brunch here is WONDERFUL (and inexpensive!) I had a great plate of huevos rancheros, and because it was before 11:30, I got a plate of fruit with them...for under $10. Cocktails are great, but passed this time because had to work later :(. Only complaint was the host team: they refused to seat us until the whole party had arrived. While I understand the policy in principle, when it's 10:30AM and you have an empty restaurant, just skip the 'tude and let us sit down & get some coffee while we wait for the others to park their car.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMmmmMasa is a favorite brunch spot with delicious, fresh, spicy fare and sophisticated decor. Great value, as well.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu, including vegan,Great menu, including vegan, vegetarian, gluetin free and combinations of all three!
Very impressive.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual ExcellenceFood was terrific. Menu has varied choices with something for everyone. Service was excellent. It's a great place at a reasonable price.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed ourWe thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Masa, which we found by accident. A pot theater dinner with a wonderful waitperson who was attentive and shared just enough information about what was going on in the restaurant. Delicious wines and corn bread to start. Our meals were cooked to perfection, delicious, hot on arrival (with the exception of a celeriac puree that was a little on the cool side next to the short ribs). My salmon was well seasoned and loved the horseradish sweet potato cake on top. Your spinach was divine, and plantains just sweet enough. Sadly we had no room for dessert, but hope to come back for tapas and music some Thursday. Highly recommend Masa for anyone looking for a great meal in a relaxed, romantic venue.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved MASA! Went here withLoved MASA! Went here with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and the service was amazing. We got seated right away. My girl got free shots for her birthday. Awesome time!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic Date PerhapsMy s.o. and I attended Masa in the Winter looking for a romantic evening out on the town. We arrived on time and awaited to be seated. While waiting we were brought over to there nicely crafted bar island where we tried there spirited Mexican themed drinks. The price of the drinks were not too bad for a Boston restaurant. The problem that did occur was that we were not able to transfer our bar tab to the table and pay it as a whole. Not sure why, just something we noticed. As for service on our night it was a bit slow because of the rush of people that were there. Booking might have been over done because there was a line of people standing in line at the door as we left Masa. On to the good part, the food. I ordered the lamb and was small.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Mexican food, and loveI love Mexican food, and love that Masa does an "upscale" version with its cuisine. Fish dishes are excellent, as are the masa specialties (e.g., tamales). Well-executed drinks made with fresh juices instead of the ubiquitous sour mix--always appreciate a place that will let you call your own tequila.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat buzz, great serviceGreat buzz, great service and great brunch. Virgin Mary and huevos rancheros hard to beat!2/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNice tequila bar with goodNice tequila bar with good food. Smaller portions, but quality is high.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
