My group and I did the $39 all-you-can eat tapas and drink, which was an awesome deal based on the amount of food we actually got to try. Each tapas dish was unique, and while they all had a twist, they were still connected to traditional brunch dishes, which we appreciated.

We enjoyed dining at Masa 14 but the menu is rather hit or miss. For a table of 4 people we ordered 10 small plates to share. About half of the items we ordered were absolutely fantastic, the other half, nothing to write home about. We were less than excited about the dessert menu and actually ended up going somewhere else for dessert. Still enjoyed our time there. The service was excellent, the wine selection was good and the really fantastic dishes made the evening.

Masa 14 is my favorite restaurant on 14th Street. I have a table that I prefer that provides a scenic view but I don't want to give that away. The only drawback is that it's quiet noisy. The staff were very accommodating in turning down the volume but it was low enough for me. However, the table with the good view is also a little less noisy.

  • Boring Birthday Dinner

    Dined on 10/15/2014
Made a reservation for a Weds that was apparently not needed, place was dead and the hostess didnt even look up our reservation to see the note about it being my birthday, so they never knew that detail. We were first seated at a horrible table in the front, surely a tactic to make the place look busy from the street. New location was in the very back near nobody. Ambiance was sub par, only other groups were other birthday dinners it seemed. Food, however, was very delicious! I didn't doubt that. Margaritas were great too. I'd probably come back for HH or Brunch as I hear it is hoppin.

It was just my first time down there, but it did not live up to the anticipation I've had to go down. Sushi was okay, but my salmon rolls had a higher proportion of avocado than I've encountered before, and the pizza appetizer was almost over-overpoweringly spicy. The drinks were phenomenal although the level of heat in the cucumber jalapeno margarita was vastly different between the two rounds our table ordered, but both were delicious nonetheless. Just a problem with consistency. Our waiter, while friendly, also did not visit the table very often, even though we were very clearly waiting to order our sushi after the appetizer, and waiting to pay for our meals (we had to waive him down a couple of times. Maybe it was just an off night

My friends and I didn't want to leave brunch at Masa 14. For starters, the bottomless food and drinks is an absolutely amazing deal and gives you access to the extensive brunch menu options that the restaurant has to offer. The food items were delicious and depth of the menu was evident. The rooftop made for great backdrop for an awesome meal and was quiet enough to be able of hold conversation without yelling. Service was generally consistent except for a few times that we had to wait about 15 minutes for next round of menu options. Given the brunch rush, it was understandable. Brunch at Masa14 provides hours of exquisite menu options, unlimited bubbles and wonderful ambiance.

Terrible. Went here for "half price" sushi but that only applied to items over $10. Made reservation for 730, the manager failed to inform his servers so no one helped us until 15 minutes later so we awkwardly just sat there. The food came...ONE AT A TIME!! Whole Foods has better sushi than this place. I ordered some scorpion roll that had chipotle mayo, yuck! The flavors don't go well together. I had to ask for wasabi, soy sauce and ginger and I got this looked like "um, are you really going to eat that with your sushi?" ok...anyway, what a terrible disappointment.

I went for brunch with a group of friends. Even with a reservation we were seated 20 minutes late, which normally isn't a big deal, but when you're trying to make the most of a bottomless brunch that ends at 3, it was a bit annoying. The food is amazing. Our biggest issue was the service. I know a Saturday brunch is a busy time, but long waits for water, drinks, and new silverware and napkins. The food was delivered promptly.

Food was mediocre, service was terrible. Waited 10 minutes at the bar for a drink. Bloody mary's aren't that good. Waited 20 minutes for our check. It seemed impossible for us to flag down our server. When we did she took 10-15 minutes to deliver what we asked. Was genuinely excited to try out Masa 14, but most likely won't visit this place again for food.

I had been working weekends for the last few years so brunch at Masa was #1 on my list when I finally got my weekends back. It did not disappoint. Their menu has changed a bit, they seem to have eggs with every dish (not a complaint) but they've kept up the quality and the bottomless mimosas. Why they were often a little slow to refill our glasses, overall it was great.

From the moment I walked in I was impressed. Started upstairs for cocktails before dinner. It's a root top technically, but not a ROOFTOP. The bartenders were awesome and quick, the drinks were unique and very good. Dinner was outstanding, and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, which is key when eating Tapas. She helped us find just what we were looking for. I'd recommend this Masa 14 to anyone looking for a great dinner at the right price in a great environment.

Went for dinner prior to a show at the 9:30 club. We sat on the roof top terrace and ordered a variety of items -- there were 6 of us. While the food was pretty good, the service was not. Wasn't sure what to expect from "latin-asian" fusion, but it was unexpectedly delicious. The food is all served tapas style, which allowed us to sample several dishes but still left us feeling full. The waitress was very honest in her assessment and recommendations of the food, which we appreciated. If you have a chance, check out their happy hour on the rooftop - best deal for wonderfully made drinks that I have ever found.

Heavy on the Asian. Not so much Latin/fusion. Portions good size and great for sharing. My problem is that it was noisy; I wouldn't recommend sitting outside; and the food while consistently good was not exceptional or unique. Still lots of choices and fun for a group.

Have been to Masa 14 a dozens times or so and my last visit was different from previous. Usually the food is great, value is a bargain, and you leave full and happy. This time, the food was barely ok. Menu items has changed and now they send you dishes even if you didn't order. It didn't go well - too many dishes at my table, some gets cold, new items are not that great, some old items that were loved are now gone. Service was no good this time, but that's not a reflection of the entire place, just one person. So for me it's still a decent deal/experience, but i don't like the change in menu, and the pushing of plates that disrupt my timing of a relaxed time.

I dined at this restaurant on a Saturday evening because it was recommended to me by a co worker. I made my reservations and dined with my partner. We were seated promptly and the server was quite attentive. The tapas style of service was great b/c we had the chance to try different foods during the meal. However, good the food was the noise level was at an all time high during the entire dinner. This meant we needed to yell while talking across the small table to hear each other. Plus they sat us right in between 2 other currently occupied tables which made it even more difficult to converse during dinner. Overall, the ceivche was delicious as well as the salmon with cilantro infused rice w/ curry.

This was my first time at Masa 14. There was really no "bad dish" but some dishes were great. We were there during Restaurant Week so it was a great way to sample their dishes. I'll definitely go again. I had the lemonade drink which was fine but not great. My girlfriend said their drinks were okay. I don't have enough data to really weigh in. But service was pretty good despite a busy evening, so, again, will definitely be back.
