Masa 14Great food great timeMy girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary for Brunch. We got there early so we managed to get the first come first serve roof top seating which was an awesome addition. The food is an Asian-Mexican fusion small plates style. I really liked the opportunity to get to try so many different things. The liquid brunch option lets your try their different brunch cocktails which I've never seen before, most places I've had an unlimited liquid brunch they make you stick to one drink. The only downside to Masa 14 to me (and the reason why I marked it as a special occasion place) is how hard to it can be to get reservations here. If you want to go to Masa 14 you better plan in advance.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAll TrueThe good things I'd read proved true. Selections were all delicious. We even had choices from the gluten-free menu they provided and they were very tasty. Waitress was personable and helpful. Wine list had nice finds by the glasa and by the bottle. Great place and very uncrowded on a Sunday evening.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMore please.Took my girlfriend here this past weekend for birthday brunch. FANTASTIC.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat 14th Street Find!awesome food, great cocktails, fun atmosphere! highly recommend!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeGreat place for brunch or dinner. We were able to find a table on the roof for 7. Half price wine night is great.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIf your hungry and thirstyThis brunch is for you! Our server was a bit unattentive at first, but slowly came around. The server beside us kept our drinks flowing and the food was non stop.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique and eclecticRiding the wave of the tapas/small plates craze, Masa 14 offers a combination of flavors and textures not found elsewhere in the city. Randomly point to anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed. Courteous and prompt service, to boot.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty Tapas, great serviceNice selection of tapas. We tried several items and enjoyed all of them. It was a nice evening so the patio was full, but we enjoyed the indoor ambiance as it was early & fairly quiet (except for the music). It seems like the kind of place that really picks up on weekend nights & would be a fun stop for tapas for a group on a night out in the neighborhood. The server was attentive & her menu recommendations were spot on.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMfun and funkyHot spot--terrific food and scene. I've been there many times and keep oing back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe couldn't stop eatingI took my girlfriend here for Sunday brunch. It was $35 each for all you can eat and all you can drink. It was money well spent, as all the food was delicious and we had trouble stopping ourselves from eating everything on the menu. Not to mention the attending waitress who made sure our mimosas were always full! Highly recommend.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good service, too loudFirst, if you're not a loud person this is a bad place to go if you plan on speaking to anyone more than 2ft away. Even the waitress had to ask me what I wanted about 5 times. The wait for food was a little longer than average, but not too bad, about 30 minutes. The food was really good, especially the Brussels sprouts, cod, and lumpia. Things quieted down after 8:30pm on a Sunday, but from 7-8:00 it was not a pleasant experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMasa 14 Amazing Brunch AGAIN!Another amazing brunch event at Masa! They do a great job and the place is always beyond busy. I truly can't say enough great things about the restaurant, one of my all time favorites in DC that I never tire of :)4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHostess was great, she rememberedHostess was great, she remembered my name an hournlatermaftermI checked in for my reservation. Food is unique and excellent!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been here quite a fewI've been here quite a few times, but this, by far, was the best experience at Masa. The servers, hostess, and food runners were all amazing. I was so pleasantly surprised by my absolute inability to complain about anything at all. Even the food was extra yummy. Thank you for a great dining experience!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat choiceWe thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at Masa 14. Our server, Jared, was very helpful, steering us to several wonderful dishes, including the brussel sprouts, crispy shrimp and wok-seared cauliflower. Save room for the banana cake!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for dinner at happy hour,Went for dinner at happy hour, which features an interesting collection of small plates for $4 (we also ordered off of the regular menu) but the crowd overwhelmed the service and the kitchen forgot to deliver our black card and it took forever for us to be able to pay. Our server was very helpful with recommendations though and if you're going for a drink on the outdoor patio, you won't find a better vibe in Logan Circle.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service with friendlyGreat service with friendly staff. The flavor of the food is just great!!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was awesome. MyThe food was awesome. My only gripe is the whole tapas mentality, I understand the concept of small plates for sharing but its really just a bloated way of inflating price without making it seem like you are. Dinner for 2 with a healthy assortment of plates and two cocktails each ran us 170 including tip. So not horrible for DC but still a lil inflated when some of the orders were rice heavy. The food was awesome, and as my girl likes to say I rarely give compliments....although that might be geared outside of the dining scene4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting food--especiallyInteresting food--especially coconut green chile soup. Server was knowledgable and good communicator. Obtained soup recipe for , though she and chef were very busy. Interesting cocktails, nice wine list.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Bottomless Brunch in DCBottomless booze and food? Yes please. Book well in advance for delicious food and yummy drinks.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great brunch. WeWe had a great brunch. We ordered the "all you can eat" which was a fun way to try several dishes. Everything was delicious! The drinks were good too.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBottomless brunch is a greatBottomless brunch is a great way to try all of Masa 14's menu. But be prepared - almost everything comes with (perfectly cooked) eggs. And those sneaky waiters just keep filling up your glass, so keep piling the food in.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMReally appreciated the serviceReally appreciated the service we had. There was a mix up with our reservation and Masa 14 definitely made up for it. They comped a round of drinks and dessert for us and made sure we had a great experience. Food was great as usually and a really fun environment for a date. Would totally recommend that place!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Sunday Brunch!I've only ever been there for Sunday Brunch, but it's our favorite place for that. It's a fun experience -- the food is wonderful, the service is efficient and friendly, and the Brunch price is extremely reasonable. Consider splurging on the a la carte desserts; they're delicious! One Tip: Parking is a real chore around this neighborhood so get there with plenty of time to spare.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty TapasEat bite was amazing...I enjoyed every tapa ordered!!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe kimchi brussels sproutsThe kimchi brussels sprouts and shrimp and crab lumpia are out of this world! Other dishes were mostly good, though the cauliflower was completely unmemorable.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Weekend BrunchWe thoroughly enjoyed the all you can eat and drink brunch! The small plates were tasty and innovative. The service was great--very professional! We will definitely be back!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than Asian FusionThe Pork Buns were delicious and had a different spin than what you get at Dim Sum. I also like the Black cod fish. The saki menu had plenty of choices that my friend from New York was pleasantly pleased.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my daughter to MasaI took my daughter to Masa 14 for her 16th birthday. The food was excellent. The service was phenomenal. I made the reservation on Open Table and referenced my daughter's birthday. When dinner was over, the waiter came by with a special dessert just for her that we did not order. It was superb. This spot is a must!!!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat overallThis experience was one for the books. The food came out very fast, hit, fresh and flavorful. The only problem I had with this was our server seemed to politely rush us after we had finished our meal. Lingering around after she left the check, then coming back before we had even put a card in the holder. This was very annoying as my friend and I were having an in depth conversation. With that being said, this did not decrease my overall positive opinion of this place. In he words of the terminator "I'll be back"3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend from Mexico said;My friend from Mexico said; "The food is decent, but the drinks are excellent". I think I enjoyed the food more than he did, and the drinks the same. We had really good, fast service, and enjoyed the ambiance. The brunch was a little pricey for the portion size, but it was endless, and so were the drinks so we got our money's worth.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, but very spicy.Great food, but very spicy. We did not realize the calamari or flatbread were going to be spicy so the 4 plates we got took a toll on our stomachs eventually in the night. While many Latin American and Asian dishes can be spicy at times, I think a little forewarning whether it be from the server or maybe descriptions on the menu would have helped.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderful to have aAlways wonderful to have a meal at Masa 14. The plates are perfect for surprise bites of flavor and conversation.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBreak out of your comfortBreak out of your comfort zone and eat something different! Masa 14 will help you do that.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Small Plates, Thumping MusicOur first visit to Masa 14 in eight months revealed few changes. Although the original chef de cuisine has departed, the menu and the food preparation are pretty much the same as they have been since the restaurant first opened: a variety of satisfying, often cleverly conceived small plates combining Latin and Asian flavors. Service was friendly and prompt. I could have lived without the thumping sound track in the background, more suited to a dance club than a restaurant (and entirely out of sync with the sports programming shown on the big-screen bar TVs.)3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time there and we absolutelyFirst time there and we absolutely LOVED this restaurant. Party of 6 so we were able to try at leat a dozen of the small plates. Every bite of each plate was creative, interesting and delicious. Our server was great....friendly but not annoying and had good suggestions. When she noticed we really disliked one of the bottles of wine we ordered, she had the manager come over and remove it from our table and from our bill. Very classy. We turned around and ordered a much more expensive bottle. We had dinner there but will definitely be back for brunch and to check out the roof top bar.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server, Gabriella, wasOur server, Gabriella, was fantastic! She was very attentive, without being obtrusive. The food was great, served as it was made so the table did not get overwhelmed with plates, the bus staff was great about removing plates. This was my first time here, but it will not be my last!!1/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
