We liked the listed tasting menu and were concerned that the items for the larger tasting menu would be decided by the chef, but we loved each. We had drinks rather than wine and enjoyed our cocktails. Service was very attentive, and the only time we had any issues catching the staff's eye was when we wanted to pay our bill. Although we prefer quiet environments and tend to eat early - our reservation was for 6:15 PM - we were surprised how busy and full the restaurant became so early on, but it did not detract from the experience. The short menu is onlly a starting point for a dialogue about what is going to be the dinner experience. We enjoyed the freshness of ingredients, and the nice presentation. Some combinations (fried onions on raw tuna) were a little bit unbalanced, but in general the food experience was outstanding. Service staff was very k owledgeable about ingredients and preparation of the meals. Unbelievable.1/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!Dinner at Mas Farmhouse on Jan 1/13 was one of the best meals I've ever had - and this comes from someone who routinely dines out at top NYC restaurants and has dined at the top 5 restaurants in Paris. We had a corner table at the end of the banquet that was charming, the service was friendly and attentive (with none of the off-putting "attitude" so unfortunately common in restaurants of this caliber) and the food was absolutely superb - the truffled chicken breast with escargots melted in your mouth, the Riesling matched it perfectly and the chocolate cake with rum-infused dates for dessert was "off the charts" delicious.
