Diner Reviews
  • "The food was wonderful! Sone of the best Italian in the area. The service from the waiter was very poor. The bus boy was great. He put our second drink order in but the waiter let it sit at the bar for over 25 minutes. He never checked on us because he was busy catering to the 2 men sitting at the next table. I drank every water on the table with my dinner."

  • "It was an off night. Risotto was not cooked properly and cold. It was my second time there, the first was much better. A bit expensive for what we got."

  • "Steve Martorano does a great job, and if you like authentic Italian food its amazing. I had the Fusili with Chicken and Peppers and loved every bite. I was alone and ate at the bar which was full of fun friendly people and my server Todd was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I have been here many time and decided to take mom. I took my mom her boyfriend and grandma for moms birthday. Everyone loved it our dishes were amazing. Mom mentioned that she felt like she was home eating her own food. Food was seasoned and prepared perfect. Didn't need any salt or pepper. Hint no salt or pepper shakers on the table. Thanks for the great experience. We will be back month after month."

  • "I had a friend in town who happens to be Italian and doesn't normally go out for Italian food but after the first appetizers she was sold."

  • "Martorano's did something I had never seen before. The waiter came to our table with a tablet. On the tablet were pictures of the meals of choice as he explained them to us and what they came with. This made our choices of meal so much easier and much more appealing. This is a great idea and one I see that many other restaurants will incorporate as they get wind of it."

  • "They need to have time between courses. we were still on salads and appetizers when main course came.no time to talk and share the culinary delights with our table mates.otherwise it was wonderful.service was prompt and courteous.the staff seemed to know when to reappear.thank you"

  • "I treated my family to dinner to celebrate my son's graduation from high school. While the food was very good, the portions were very small for the price."

  • "Had a great time at Martorano's. A lot going on and very lively. Service was great and friendly. Very loud and festive inside with music and people. Only possible issue to consider is that while the food is very good, it is priced nearly twice what any other very good Italian restaurant would charge for the quantity served! Example: $52.00 for a 5 oz. grouper one grape tomato and a scoop of mash potatoes, nothing else on the plate. Deserts are out of this world!! Wine list is very good! I do enjoy going there but just beware of sticker shock!"

  • "I've eaten here prior to this last occasion and returned because the food was fantastic. although a bit of a wait, it's worth it as the food is made at the time of ordering so it's not pre cooked and then warmed up. just don't order balsamic vinegar on the side. they charge $3 for a teaspoon! allegedly because it's imported. a bit outrageous considering prices. oh, don't forget to ask your waiter for the price of the specials which are very nicely displayed on a (electronic) tablet. still, worth the price...yummy"

  • "FIRST TIME DINING AT MARTORANO'S. MY PARTY INCLUDED 4 GUESTS FROM NEW YORK AND WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE SERVICE AND THE DELICIOUS FOODS.... ONLY PROBLEM A FEW OF MY GUESTS PREFERRED THEIR PASTA COOKED A BIT MORE."

  • "You're going to either love this place or hate it. I LOVE it!! The one on Oakland Park Blvd. has been a long time favorite but the location is tiny. The location at hard rock is way bigger and gives each table some elbow room. I love the "night club" ambience; great music while eating great food. Drinks and food are pricey (not suitable for a budget outing). However, the food is phenomenal. Some more than others... Must try plates are: meatball w/ ricotta, fresh mozz (only at Oakland), eggplant stack, buccatini carbonara, ricotta gnocchi and the philly cheesesteak - yes you read that right are all to DIE for. After all my visits to each location, you might get 1 dish out of 5 that is not "out of this world" but it will still be good."

  • "The volume of the music in this fabulous restaurant is ridiculous and beyond my understanding. I guess there are a lot of people that likes it loud. The food is excellent but between appetizer and main course we had to move to the terrace where it is not as loud as inside. I love the food in this place but to enjoy it you must come early because at 10 pm they will destroy you ears literary."

  • "Went to Martorano's at the Hard Rock for the first time to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. Amazing environment, very good food (the more traditional Italian fare is very good but I did not like my seafood special). Make sure your entire party is on time for reservation because the restaurant requires you to be seated together and to order together."

  • "Everything was absolutely delicious! From our amazing waiter who would personally serve our appetizers to the iPad displays they had, it was all excellent. It was unique and helpful the way they used iPad pictures of the specials and desserts to give you an idea of how the food would look. We ate our whole meals thinking we'd be too full to move until he went through the desserts. Our waiter Colin was exceptionally great. He was friendly, polite, and gave good suggestions on what to order. Overall one of the best dining experiences we've had in Ft. Lauderdale."

  • "We just wanted a nice comfortable restaurant with good food, wine, ambiance and service and Martorano;s fit the criteria. I would highly recommend them."

  • "We had a reservation, but they would not seat us until entire party was there. The waiter wrote down our order on a pad the size of a post it.Which is probably why he forgot two drinks and two appetizers. He then knocked two beers together, which caused them to over flow and soak the table. After changing the table cloth, some of the appetizers came out. Two were missing...two didn't get their drinks. The music was great, but too loud to have a conversation. Two dinners came out 20 mins after others. We wanted to eat together and it seemed they couldn't deliver. The food was very good. The service not good. I don't want to see 6 empty beer bottles on the table, when I am eating. We will spend our $600 somewhere else next time."

  • "Different DJ apparently. I hope the 70's and 80's music oldies come back quick. That's part of the energy and attraction unique to this restaurant. Also, the service on this occasion was not what I have become accustomed to at Marterano's."

  • "Not a lot of choices when you are at the Hard Rock, planning on seeing a show. This place is very expensive, over crowded and the food is not great. Extremely salty, cheesy, oily, buttery, fried....nothing to eat if you are at all health conscious. The staff is very pleasant and efficient however. And the wine is good. Be prepared to drink a lot of water after dinner and perhaps detox the next day."

  • "Compared to the location on Oakland this restaurant is made for the masses. Waiter to rushed to make sincere eye contact Pasta undercooked FISH WAS AMAZING!!! This location is fun but not food focused"

  • "Restaurant was way out of line price wise. Drinks & Food. Food Good, NOT Great. Service was excellent. I would not return unless I was attending a concert at the Hard Rock."

  • "We loved the energetic but romantic ambience of this place. Great music puts you at ease and in the mood for dancing at your table. Excellent, friendly and knowledgeable staffers made the experience very welcoming. Special seafood pasta with lobster tail was off the chain good. Seemed like we were right at home!"

  • "Been a fan of Martorano's for a long time. There is no denying his food is top notch. Some reviews complain about the price, get over it. If your dining here you already know that it's pricey. Get there early if you are going to a show, it's not so loud, and they make sure you don't miss your show."

  • "Is this place a restaurant or a nightclub? I am not sure it can be both. The food was great but I could not hear the person next to me. We were a group of 6 and I could only yell."

  • "The only reason I was even in the location was for a concert. The food was alright but the ambiance was a disaster. TVs everywhere you look and speakers with music so loud you can't hear anything."

  • "I took away two stars because of the rudeness of the young, 20 something hostess. I made the reservation two weeks in advance. This is the 2nd time we dined here in a month. The first time was flawless. This time, walked in with my guests and told the hostess I had a reservation for 5 people and asked for a booth. She very abruptly told me she had no booths available. Meanwhile, there were 6 booths open that we could see. 2 bottles of wine 4 appetizers & 5 entrees later there were still booths available. I mentioned the incident to one of the bussers and he said that she was an"insider". Our food and service (Tom) were both OUTSTANDING. The hostess should be sent back to charm school as an "insider" to brush up on her manners. $500."

  • "the food was not as good as Vegas. Took the eggplant and I only taste the fried breadcrumb it was very dry. We were not a group, only 2 persons and the bill comes with a 20% gratuity. Will not return to this restaurant"

  • "We had an early reservation and able to get in right away. The waiter was terrific and was very informative. The atmosphere was terrific with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin type of music along with Oceans 11 playing on tv. Food was terrific, a little pricey but well worth the money. Will definitely be going back!"

  • "The noise level outdoors was so loud that we could barely hear ourselves talk. My meal (rigatoni vodka) was brought 20 mins after the rest of our party finished their meals, which were all brought at different times. No extra plates were brought to guests who were sharing. When my meal was finally delivered, the pasta washard and undercooked so I was unable to eat. The manager took this pasta off the check, since I couldn't eat it. The "strip" ordered by my husband was of such poor quality that we questioned whether it was a strip at all as we have eaten stips at Morton's, Prime 112, Bourbon Steak, Capital Grille, etc. The brownie part of the brownie and ice cream dessert brought to celebrate a birthday was dry and untasty."

  • "We arrived on Vday and were greeted immediately. We sat within minutes. Someone came over and handed us menus and filled our water glasses. Another couple sat down next to us and the same young man did the same. We waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order, which was taken in unison with the table next to us. We waited 10 more minutes before another person came over to show us the specials, he then took our order along with the table next to us. I had the alfredo, which was good. My husband and the lady at the table next to us had the veal parm, they both agreed it was really tough. Our main complaint was service. We just wish it was more attentive and I did not like that our waiters did not treat us as a single table."

  • "Can't beat this combination of great food and an up-beat atmosphere. Easy to see why this place has been so successful over the years. The Scampi Appetizer and Fusilli still the best I ever ate and the service is always "on-the money". BRAVO!"

  • "Food is always great - eggplant stack , meatballs, pasta are all delish. They honor reservations. Only problem is the restaurant is very noisy - not as bad as the original Cafe Martorano, but still distractingly loud."

  • "This place is like an express Martoranos. You're better of going to the Oakland Park location. It a difference of good and great, great being the Oakland Park location. The food, service and ambiance is much better."

  • "Veal Parm was $38 and tuff, not tender. Sea bass with shrimp $52 was good but not great tasting, bland. Meatballs appetizer and calimarri were the best. Two people with one drink each a couple of appetizers and main course in a bar like atmosphere for $185. Too much. Plus the waiter served two tables with one couple each all at once. Unusual."
