Martin's Tavern reviews from OpenTable diners

There must be a reason why Martin's Tavern is still around, longer than any other family owned restaurant in DC. Hmmmm... Is it the cool old style pub atmosphere? The irrepressible cheerfulness of the wait staff? The funny but very real history of the place (we sat in the Richard Nixon booth)? Maybe it's just the best eggs Benedict in North America. I don't know. Why don't you go see for yourself?

Great Scotch and divine oyster soup. Not a fan of the beef my friend had - could use more spices. Otherwise terrific and fun restaurant with a lot of history.

The food was good, but our waiter was desultory at best and it was very noisy. Not an enjoyable place for a relaxing dinner (although with a number of $30 entrees, it should have been a nice place for dinner with a friend).

Bad service. Waited 45 minutes for the food. Have to remain the waiter for ordering and for paying. Space was very narrowed, too many tables in the room. Food nothing special but ok.

Food was very good and the service was fast and friendly. Somewhat crowded as not enough room between tables so the tablenoise was loud. Nice neighborhood bar/tavern. Was surprised it was more of a resturant than a tavern.

One of my fav brunch spots not just for the food, but for the history that you can find in each booth of the restaurant. For Sunday brunch, service was fast and friendly and the food was delish! It was crowded and louder, so if you want a quieter breakfast, get there earlier rather than later (a friend and I were there around 11pm).

Food came way, way too quickly. We barely had time to converse. My friend asked the table how it was possible that they cooked the food so fast. The waiter brought bread to the table, and literally 3 minutes later brought the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, we just felt like we were being pushed out of the door.
