A word from Marsilios Kitchen
Marsilio’s Kitchen is the latest creation of Alan Meinster. Meinster is best known for the personal dining experience he and his team of chefs provided at Marsilio’s Restaurant, est. in 1951, in Chambersburg, NJ from 1986 to 2007.

An eclectic Italian menu, balances traditional selections such as the popular chicken cacciatore dish, with steaks, chops, fresh seafood, and mouth watering pasta dishes, including Sunday Gravy.

The Kitchen’s ambiance transports diners to the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, and highlights a family style Farm Table for 14. The new full service bar offers an Italian "Tapas" menu and specialty cocktails. They also offer Theme Nights, a Private Dining Room for 100, Corporate Drop-off Catering, off premises catering, and a value menu for Curbside Take-Away.

Whether it’s a first date or a casual dinner with the whole family, there is something for everyone!

  • "We visited Marsilio's for dinner on a weeknight. We enjoyed the meatball appetizer, which is a huge meatball with cheese on a crusty slice of bread. Delicious, enough to share. My meal was on the cant decide menu and I chose Veal parm/ chicken cacciatore and broccoli rabe. Some of the best cacciatore and broccoli rabe I have ever had, the veal was tender and the sauce is awesome. My husband had the veal saltimbocca which was outstanding. Dessert was cheescake, tiramisu and a tartufo. All very enjoyable. I wanted to try the nutella mochachino but it was not available, I certainly didn't need anything else. The hostess, bartender and server were fantastic!! Will certainly return!!"

  • "Frontier now flies in and out of Mercer (Trenton) and I was looking for a quality independent place close to the airport after my flight from Atlanta. It met and exceeded my expectations. This is authentic home made Italian with excellent hospitality. They recently opened a bar, but they only charge a $5 corking fee if you bring your own. There happens to be a wine shop less than a mile away. This will be a regular stop when flying into Trenton/Princeton."

The presentation was beautiful and the meal was wonderful. My daughter got the sampler from the "can't decide" section of the menu, her boyfriend ordered the filet mignon, I had the crispy salmon and my husband loved the his selection of chicken with escarole and beans. The salads had varied greens and we were so stuffed we could not squeeze in dessert ... and even came home with left overs. Love Marsillios and will be back."

  • "Seated next to the bar with a large group of noisy women. We requested another table but were told none was available. Our experience was unpleasant for the first 15 minutes or so until they left. The server was pleasant, but inexperienced. The entrees were good. We ordered chicken dishes which were tasty, and well prepared. Salad had too much cheese. The dressing was ok, but needed a touch of sweetness to balance the cheese. The pasta was overcooked and mushy but we really didn't need it. The house wine was very good at a reasonable price. Dessert was chocolate covered ice cream which was very good. They need to do something about the tables being so close to the bar. It was noisy and distracting. Not sure we will return anytime soon."

We have eaten here countless times, from when they were in Chambersburg to the current location. I can only say this about Marsilio's, I've never had a bad meal or service. It is beautiful inside. I found the prices to be a little high for the amount of food that was served but my food was delicious and the occasion was special so I overlooked that."

Top shelf liquor, a bartender eager to make it the way you like it … you know, just that little extra (or less of) something gives it the taste you want. Their wine list is very good with good pricing, too. Now onto the food: everything from traditional down-home "Sunday Gravy" with sweet pork, sausage and meatballs on the side. The "gravy" is amazingly tasty and so good you could review it like wine. Simple food with fresh ingredients … crispy salmon has just the right crisp on it, and superb chicken dishes. The specials are masterpieces. I'm reluctant to give such a great review because Marsilios is small; I'd like to keep the secret."

But unlike previous visits, service was ridiculously slow and we had to continually remind our waiter to bring us things that should be standard - bread/butter/oil, silverware after it was all taken away after salad, check (30 minutes after dessert!). We were asked by the waiter if we had received our appetizerss - The table was empty!!! And, we had to ask 3 times for a second glass of wine. One bad service experience with a young and perhaps inexperienced waiter won't keep me from returning to this normally wonderful restaurant. But, it makes me wonder who is maintaining quality in the front of the house?"

The most attentive server informed us of the specials and we each enjoyed a choice from the specials and were not disappointed. The food quality is excellent as is the presentation An addition to the dessert menu was a 3 choice special and it is wonderful providing us with the opportunity to sample a choice never tried. I am truly amazed that the owner is out with diners who enjoy their meal. This is must for anyone looking for a 'neighborhood' gem here in NJ."

  • "Went on a Wednesday evening, celebrating a special occasion. The restaurant was busy which is great for them. A bit less so for their dinning guests. We were seated right away next to the bar (it is part of the dinning room). It took a while for someone to come by but as I said they were pretty busy. The food was quite good and once we got started it seemed to come out at a decent pace. We had the Veal Melanzane and the Filet Au Poivre, both were excellent. It struck us as odd that the owner never acknowledged the slow service, not just with us but with any of his guests. Perhaps it is always like that. He seemed content sipping wine at the bar chatting with his friends. We will probably try it again and hope for a better experience."

  • "Marsillio's a gem that moved from the 'Burg a few years ago. We all held our collective breath - hoping that they would continue to provide the incredible food and service that made them so great for so many years. The answer is - Absolutely!!! Why would a new address change anything? It hasn't. Actually, the owners have created a first-class environment worthy of the most special of occasions. And the food? Unbelievable. We has 12 people, almost everyone with a different entree. Everyone in our group a food critic. Everyone was thrilled!!! I would highly recommend Marsillio's. A Classic!!"

  • "What happned to the quaility of food and service in this place? Marsilios has been one of our favorite Italian restauarants over the years but this time my boys and I were very unhappy with the lack of good service and quality of food. I was never concerned with the NY prices at Marsilios because I always got an amazing made to order tasting Italian meal. This time the food looked and tasted premade nothing like I remembered. My $23 veal parm tasted bland and slightly burnt but I guess the waiter thought the small bowl of pasta I was to share with my son's $27 flounder dish made up for it. The waiter had poor timeing with all the courses and was mostly a ghost. Needless to say for now on I will save the $ and go elsewhere."
