  • "We are Newbies to the area and Marsha Brown was our first restaurant stop as we were becoming acquainted to this historical district. It was a good choice, with an impressive menu selection, well prepared starters and entrees, and a relaxing atmosphere. Needless to say, we will return!"

  • "Wonderful food from start to finish. This historic church has been turned into a great gem in New Hope. Leave room for dessert!"

  • "Ambiance and food were wonderful. Jack (staff) was old school awesome. True professional, made the meal an exceptional journey/pleasure."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "Our waiter Jack was great, as was our assistant waiter (whose name I unfortunately have forgotten). The southern hospitality theme came through in their immediate friendliness and gave the experience an almost "family"- like feeling. I also was very pleasantly surprised at the special treatment we had for our anniversary- the rose petals on the table set the mood and the photo of us that was taken that night will be cherished. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Marsha Brown's used to be a church and it has been beautifully transformed into a great restaurant. There are three levels of seating and each has its own beauty. We were on the top level which can be used for private parties. Our waiter was very attentive and our food was very good, served promptly and nice and hot. Our entire dining experience was terrific. A nice walk around New Hope topped off a lovely evening."

  • "My wife and I came here on recommendations from many of our friends and it would appear that they pointed us in the right direction. The space is beautiful, with stained glass windows and large paintings making for a unique experience. The prices were reasonable, as a three course dinner for two including a bottle of wine and some items from the raw bar clocked in at less than $150. The service was prompt, friendly, and professional. We never had an empty table or an empty glass! The wait staff was also very well informed on the menu and wine list and were very helpful in directing us to delicious choices. The food was delicious and the portions generous. I would absolutely recommend this charming restaurant to anyone."

  • "This is great for special occasions, a romantic night for two, or for a quiet dinner with friends. We went on the recommendation of a friend. We loved it and will be back. The staff is helpful, friendly and responsive. The food is excellent."

  • "First impressions are everything and I was disappointed from the beginning. I had held on to this Restaurant coupon for 2-3 years before I got a chance to dine here. I was so excited and looked forward to the beautiful interior. The dishes and silverware were dirty! A huge faux-paus for us but we stayed anyway. The bacon slab app was divine! The rest of the meal was just okay. The waiter brought out the wrong salad and then became visibly upset when I advised him of it. I didn't like my main dish - Eggplant Ophelia - but didn't send it back as I chose it so I had to live with it (although it was recommended by the waiter). I just couldn't get past the fact that everything including the tea cup had something on it."

  • "Great dinner and service and it was special occasion so they put rose petals on table. Just great nite. Karen our waitress was excellent."

  • "The church makes for an unusual and intriguing environment. The high ceilings, murals and artwork create a visually enticing ambience. Menu is varied with some traditional New Orleans inspired dishes, great seafood choices. Salads and a la carte sides are also delicious. Knowledgeable and attentive service. Pricey, but worth it for special occasions."

  • "Food pretty good as always. Service not so hot. We had sparkling water and first bottle was warm so I asked them to put it on ice. Instead, waiter brought a whole new bottle which was nice, but he did not take or empty our glasses of warm water. Later a server went to fill our water glasses with tap water but my wife stopped her and said we had sparkling, but instead of filling our glasses with sparkling she just left and my wife had to get up, go to the ice bucket, and get sparkling water for us. Three times my wife filled our glasses. But, I'm glad they serve dinner late as my wife & I like to eat very late. So we appreciate that."

  • "Marsha Brown features the real deal: collard greens, sweet potato casserole, crawfish, catfish, and on and on. Having grown up in Mississippi, I miss the creole and country cooking of my youth. Well, I found it at Marsha Brown's!"

  • "The steaks and seafood sound outrageous and I did have a steak there before and it was great. However, Marsha Brown does do Cajun and when in Cajun, do Cajun. I can do a good steak at home. My wife and both had a Cajun meal. I had the Jambalaya and she had the Eggplant Ophelia. They were great. I would return anytime."

  • "We dined at Marsha Brown's on Father's Day. We were seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation. The wait staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. The menu had exciting choices. Every entrée was delicious and the bread pudding was to die for. I definitely will return and recommend this restaurant to all my friends."

  • "Ate there last year and EVERYTHING was wonderful. Had dinner at the bar, food and service were both AMAZING!!! However, last Saturday we went back, the service was terrible. The waiter screwed up our order, brought out the wrong things, forgot things, was rude and charged us for the wrong dishes and it was about 10:30 & the place was quiet, so there's no excuse. We ordered the same main course (steak with Creole seasoning, comes with blue cheese and mushrooms & onions) as last time. There was SO MUCH salt on the steak it wasn't edible & I love salt! My and my husband both tried to eat it but had to send it back. Kitchen was closed at that point so they couldn't make us another one, so he took it off the bill. Crab legs & shrimp were great!"

  • "My husband and I went for early dinner after a friend recommended the restaurant. It's in an old church so the surroundings are beautiful and interesting. The food was delicious. I had the scallops and my husband had the jambalaya. Both were delicious. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely return!"

  • "We dined on Friday night and overall things were OK. We enjoyed drinks, oysters, and other apps.We both ordered the Filet Oscar style. My girlfriends went back twice, once because it wasnt prepared oscar style, and another time because the temp was incorrect. She wasnt hungry by the time her dinner actually came out. The icing on the cake was whoever boxed up her left overs threw away the "Oscar" toppings (14 dollars worth of crab meat and boxed up only the steak). Not exactly a nice touch when you're paying $220 dollars for a meal for two"

  • "Everyone in our party really loved their meals. The entre portions were generous as were the sharable sides. The main dinning room is beautiful with original stained glass, mural and alter."

  • "Everything about this meal was great! From the service to the drinks to the apps, meal and dessert. Will definitely go back."

  • "The location and service was great, but we didn't have the best experience with the food. While not terrible, it was not up to the standard I expected for the price. The food was just "okay". Our was soup was burned, which was immediately replaced, but the rest of the food just simply did not make an impression upon me. I'm from a family of foodies, so we are always up for something new and have frequented all sorts of restaurants, including multiple high-end restaurants. This has the high-end price and pretty decent service, but the food is not up to par. Maybe the cooks were just having a bad day, since to soup was burned, but I do wish we had chosen to go elsewhere for our special occasion (Mother's Day). Just not worth it..."

  • "Wonderful service! The very large wall mural of a lion hunt was somewhat disturbing. Next time my guest and I will both sit with our backs to the mural."

  • "Been going here for 11 years and it is always a treat. For a true taste of New Orleans or a great steak, this is the place."

  • "Our server was Brad and he was excellent. The food was outstanding and the Caymus was perfect. We always enjoy Marsha Brown. The noise level takes a bit to get used to but worth it. New seating arrangement works well. The down stairs remodel looked great as well. Have not missed a beat without Caleb."

  • "My husband ordered steak and I ordered scallops and we could not decide whose was better - we loved our meal and the bar is a nice place to hand after dinner. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back for more!"

  • "Food and atmosphere were awesome. Our server, Jack Shire, couldn't have been better. He truly made the night with our friends enjoyable."

  • "This is my first experience with Marsha browns and it was a very enjoyable meal. Portions are large and service was attentive. The food was enjoyable and presented well. This was a special occasion which I had called in prior for a semi private table. Unfortunately, the dining area was sparsely occupied but we were seated directly adjacent to another couple. This was my only negative as Marsha browns was unable to fulfill my initial request for privacy. The place is a former church so much of the appeal is the decor to include massive dining room painting and stained glass. The service was excellent."

  • "Wonderful dining experience. From the minute we walked in we were treated with attentive friendly service. Then came the food which was spectacular. I recommend this restaurant very highly. We are from NYC and will compare this place with the best NYC has to offer. "

  • "This was our first time at the Marsha Brown restaurant and it was nothing short of phenomenal. We selected this restaurant as we had heard of them by their reputation. The dining experience was one that everyone hope's for in the selection of a restaurant. The table was sprinkled with multi-colored rose petals as they learned that we were celebrating our anniversary. The menu selection is simply mouth watering and one must not miss "Mamere's crab cheesecake" as it is worth every calorie. The "Ophelia" was selected by my husband and he enjoyed every tidbit...........original and tasty. The sides that we selected were also mouthwatering ~ especially the baked pineapple and twice baked potato soufflé. HIGHLY recommended!!!"

  • "Setting is gorgeous inside of an old church. The menu is unique and different than anything in the area. New Orleans/creole cooking...salads were wonderful, entrees - scallops, eggplant, crawfish étouffée, chicken all amazing. We had the onion rings, string beans and twice baked potatoes which were excellent. And for dessert, bread pudding , molten cake, and sorbet....lovely evening overall! "

  • "Best tasty Creole food. We ordered Lobster pot pie, salmon & shrimp, and surf & turf which were excellent. Desserts are not much selection for Southern fare. Service was OK as our water glasses did not get filled as often as it should. Reservation definitely recommend end. "

  • "Attentive service, great menu, fabulous food, all within the walls and stained glass of an old church. A must do when in Bucks County. Not cheap, but worth what you spend. And less than a block from Bucks County playhouse. "

  • "Valet parking in busy New Hope is a big advantage ... The former church is a very imposing venue, dominated by a large somwhat bizarre painting."

  • "15th Anniversary dinner, very impressed with service. My husband ordered the jumbalia while I had the Maine Lobster. The sauces are superb, crab appetizer was delicious .. The sauce that came with that good but we asked for the coconut sauce too( maybe honey was in it?) but that was the best.. We dipped bread into that sauce too- it tasted so good! Baileys with cool whip (I would have used real whip cream though) but it wasn't bad.... Overall experience is that we will come here again and give it 5 stars:)"
