Marsha BrownFood was quite good! a bitFood was quite good! a bit pricey. Since it was mother's day evening, it was still a bit crowed with groups and tumult....not an ideal time but where is on mother's day. The plateau was very good as were chopped salad and crab cakes. For the price I would think that the entree should be served with a side.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely enjoyed the entireAbsolutely enjoyed the entire experience. The food was wonderful! The staff was attentive and friendly.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Orleans flavor. ParkingNew Orleans flavor. Parking an issue but they have $10 valet. All upstairs seating but they have an elevator.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbience/service nice, food averageFriendly and attentive service but the food is just average.
The hummus is tasty. The gumbo, church salad, and prime rib were good.
Asked for Ranch dressing on the wedge salad. Globs of dressing on the lettuce and the dressing tasted mostly of mayonnaise. They forgot to add the tomato and bacon to the salad.
The lobster pot pie wasn't very flavorful and it was like eating a soup topped with pastry. The pastry was light but that was probably the best part about it. The sauce was broth based with lots of diced carrots. The dish also included some small lobster pieces (looked like mostly claw meat) and some peas. It was definitely not worth $30.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticUnique restaurant in a quaint/artsy riverside town.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTop-notch!We were seated right on time. The wait staff were knowledgeable and very attentive. The ambiance was great as usual, the stained glass windows add a nice touch. Three of us had appetizers and entrees, all of which were excellent. A terrific dining experience, not to be missed when you are in the New Hope area.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous!Fabulous as always! We had dinner for my husband's 60th birthday. Great attention to detail....fantastic service...wonderful meal.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Eggplant Ophelia was outstandinThe Eggplant Ophelia was outstanding, as was the salmon/scallop dish served over grits.
Desserts were equally toothsome.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMwaitressThe only complaint is that our waitress appeared a little over whelmed...only when it started to get busy as the dinning room filled up. Slow in checking back on us and the check, noticed it with another table too.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!Unbelievable, outstanding!!!!!! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Cajun cooking and wants to be reminded of New Orleans.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMthis restaurant Rocks!!! Thethis restaurant Rocks!!! The food is excellent & fresh, service can't be beat- very attentive and professional with a dash of fun,....such a great place to get together, have a couple, eat some, a tad pricey however worth every cent ;-)4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFlaxless service; great experienceI was especially impressed with the teamwork exhibited at our most recent visit. We ate in the choir loft area (the top floor). We had asked to be there because we felt it would be quieter than it would be on the main (second) floor, and we were right.
We were seated in a small niche next to a stained glass window. Service was extraordinary! Our orders came right, were delivered to the correct person, even though they were delivered by a person who had not taken the orders. That means that communication among the staff was excellent.
Any requests were fulfilled quickly.
Our only quibble was that, on this particular visit, the bread was not as hot as it had been at previous visits. Otherwise, this was flawless! Highly recommended!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter, Adrian, was bothOur waiter, Adrian, was both knowledgeable and charming. He answered all of our questions fully to include our questions about the history of the restaurant. The entire wait staff performed exceptionally well and were very attentive to our requests. While the environment was loud, the overall decor and design was fabulous and really made for a unique dining experience. While all the food was delicious, highly recommend the crab cheesecake and the chopped salad, as both are exquisite!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhere Burbon St Meets the DelawareMarsh Brown resides in a staunch neo-gothic stone ediface. Once a church. Now a bit of the French Quarter on the Delaware. A surreal experiece. The interior is grand and lively, contrasting with the cold dark exterior facade. Warm, soulful Jazz piped into the spacious dining room. From a culinary standpoint, Marsha Brown is not New Orleans-esque. It is New Orleans. Whether one feasts on the traditional Jambalaya and gumbo; or something a bit unconventional - all is perfection. An extensive wine list and a full bar compliments the feast. You will be guided through your experience by the most pleasant wait staff north of Lac Pontchartrain. Mother's Day is coming up. What a place to take your mother! I'll be back!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timeMy first time and it showed how a good restaurant is run.
I will try again.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to come back!Went to Marsha Brown for the first time last Friday and my girlfriend and I both loved it. The fact that it's a converted church gives the place a really cool vibe to begin with. The food was simply outstanding. The crab cheesecake, jambalaya, and eggplant ophelia were all fantastic. And then we got the Sweet Potato Casserole. Let me tell you, we would go back for that dish alone. It was great as a side, but then our outstanding waiter suggested adding some vanilla ice cream when we thought we couldn't finish it. It blew our minds how good that combo was. Wow. Waitstaff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive as well. We cannot wait to come back here soon with more of our friends/family.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great amd theThe food was great amd the venue was wonderful. You can't go wrong with Marsha Brown's.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Eggplant Ophelia, thoughThe Eggplant Ophelia, though very good, seemed a little under par compared to my last experiences at Marsh Brown. Appetizers and dessert were excellent.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for New HopeWe went here for New Hope Restaurant week. It was Tues night and the place was surprisingly busy. Everything was excellent except my husbands brisket was a little fatty. The chef offered him more, but since the portions were generous, my husband declined. The amuse bouche course was more than I would have expected for a fixed price menu. Great night out!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, Great service! We went to Marsha Brown's for the start of restaurant week after visiting for Valentine's Day. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is incredible. The restaurant week appetizer was a trio of lobster cappuccino (still don't know exactly what it was, but it was delicious), a broiled oyster, and short rib flatbread. 2nd course was a generously portioned salad with an incredible balsamic dressing. My entree was the creole brisket, and my partner had the jambalaya. Both were wonderfully prepared. Dessert was a smaller-than-normal portion of the chocolate creme brulee.
Our server and his assistant were wonderfully attentive, friendly, and professional. Even with a packed restaurant, we didn't feel it was too loud.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there for "RestaurantWe were there for "Restaurant Week", was great. It was our first time there. I would go again + would highly recommend it to others.

I would highly recommend Marsha Brown's!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMarsh Brown Rocks!Came here for New Hope Restaurant Week but ordered off the regular menu instead. The clams and oysters were super fresh and super delicious for a starter. For an entree I had the Eggplant Ophelia and it was cooked to perfection...outstanding...a must get!!! Although I should note that my husband had the crab cakes as an entree and he thought they were very salty. For dessert I had bread pudding and that was yummy as well. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Overall a great experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for the firstWe went here for the first time during New Hope restuarant week. I was offered an elevator ride up after we checked our coats. Very thoughtful and kind staff. We had rose petals on our table as we were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. When the selection my husband chose didn't suite him, he was offered another choice with no problems. The scenery was lovely and all the staff was very cordial. Our server was most outstanding and very friendly!!! So, from the valet parking to the coat check going out of the restaurant, we were VERY pleased with the first time experience!!!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is a must whenThis place is a must when in New Hope. The crab cheesecake was awesome!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Marsha Browns but.......Only issue I have is that they have you too close to other tables. It's impossible sometimes to squeeze through without knocking into another table.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
