MarseilleGreatLunch at Marseille is one of the reasons I love going to NYC to enjoy a play!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate in the outdoor courtyardWe ate in the outdoor courtyard in mid-May. Other than the occasional loud sirens - a New York signature- the outdoor experience was great. Service was excellent. Interesting variety of menu choices - all good.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA great find not far fromA great find not far from Broadway. Lunch and brunch menus have good variety. Dishes are special, delicious, and good looking. Desserts are great also. Prices are moderate for that area and get your money's worth.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved Marseilles, great service/foodWent to the restaurant and had a wonderful time. The lamb was great, perfectly cooked and really tasty with the curry... I had the kale salad and it was a tad small, but delicious nonetheless. A good light appetizer. The creme brulee was a good portion, and good (but isnt it always)! I had a wonderful, friendly and quick waiter. Altogether nice experience. Would definitely go back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMnyc2013the restaurant reminded me of restaurants in paris. it captured the decor. i had poached lobster out of the shell on mashed potatoes with kale.

Easy place to talk over very well prepared food that has good choices for friends who are adventurous or not.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for BrunchWe went before a show. They treated us royally, didn't rush us, and our waiter came with the bill and said that the desert one of
us ordered was on him!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchHad a fabulous time at brunch. The food was amazing with lots of choices. Our waiter was outstanding, didn't rush us through like so many restaurants do in the theatre district. It's not as pricey as some have posted here. I thought the prices and portion sizes were generous and right on for this type of restaurant5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA Touch of ParisMarseille, offering pleasant and energetic service, an extensive menu featuring plats du jour and prix fixe specials, and very reasonable prices, is a winner in the Theater District. It's a bustling place for a reason.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place for Theater GoersOur group of 5 enjoyed our Prix Fixe lunch menu choices very much. Salmon and escargots were top favorites. Creme Brule and fresh mixed fruits were delicious as well. A short walk to most Broadway theatres.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI am a returning customerI am a returning customer to Marseille, food is very delightful and beautiful for taste and eyes. The asparagus soup was incredible. Combination of grilled salmon with quinoa and peas/asparagus was very pleasing even for my friends who never had quinoa before. The place has one of the largest wine selection for everyone. I would be back for sure.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Theater District choiceMarseille is an excellent Theater District restaurant, with a French bistro menu and vibe. Both the service and the food were more than competent. Everything that we ate was delicious and carefully prepared. When we were running late due to traffic, we called, and the restaurant accomodated us by holding the reserved table for an extra 1/2 hour. Marseille offers both a la carte and prix fixe dinner options. Their brunch food is also very good.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is very good, seversThe food is very good, severs freindly and very accomodating, good atmospher combines for a great dinning experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to MarseillesWe have been to Marseilles on several occasions. This time we took friends from Buenos Aires. They loved it. The food, service and wine list are excellent. We highly recommend the dining experience.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable theater area restaurantWe always like coming here. The atmosphere is lively, spacious, airy, but busy. The food is reliable as well, with most dishes being excellent. The desserts are great also- if you have any room left over for them! Even when we show up without reservations the hostesses do their best to accomodate.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AM. Everyone enjoyed their food,. Everyone enjoyed their food, the ambience was great and we had a wonder full time!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMJust rightParty of 7 family reunioners had supers drinks, perfectly rendered Benedict's, strong coffee, selfish salads and attentive service. Don't go without a Rez.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat pre-theater spotExcellent seared octopus!!!! I had the monkfish with Lentils, which was nicely prepared but I ma not sure it worked as a dish for me. Service feeidnly and efficient. My Grey Goose up with a twist tasted a little odd; perhaps the lemon was not washed very well. Otherwise a nice pre-theater experience,5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTres Magnifique! MarseilleIn the heart of the Theatre District, a gem is found! Parisienne/Moroccan flavours. Friendly service, efficient and prompt, ambience exceptional. Retro Paris chic decor...lovely. Grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes over balsamic drenched tomato slices, a mushroom tart with carmelized onion marmalade to die for, Roast duck cooked to perfection as ordered med. rare with rubharb puree and seafood couscous in a wonderful Moroccan inspired bouillabaisse sauce. Wonderful pre-theatre or post restaurant, arrive early to thoroughly enjoy. Enjoy dinner for two on the sun drenched patio. Moderately priced. We will definitely return next time in NYC.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, authentic French BistroWith a Mediterranean flair, so not as heavy as French food can be. Wonderful service. Fabulous food. Fair prices. Will return.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWill returnNot my first time to Marseille nor will it my last....food is always terrific, same with presentation and service...
Dining outdoors there is not so great, as 9th avenue at any time of the day can be pretty noisy, to say the least
inasmuch as you may want to sit outside, the ambiance of an authentic french bistro can be felt indoors at Marseille
will continue to recommend and patronize5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe will be returning oftenWe will be returning often for brunch. The mushroom tart was excellent, with a "just right" flaky crust. The pommes frites were perfection.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful brunchAfter a disappointing mid week lunch, I was glad to be reminded why we like Marseilles. The brunch was delicious, service fabulous though the place was extremely noisy. And location is perfect since we had Sunday matinee tickets.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect family brunch spotWent to brunch here last Sunday with my boyfriend, my mom and aunts. We were seated immediately for our noon reservations, service was great. Everyone loved their food and drinks - coffee was excellent and the ambiance was perfect for brunch, the big windows let in a lot of light, there was music playing and fresh flowers. Dishes were well priced for what you get, I will definitely be returning.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great place to eat.ItAlways a great place to eat.It is is a convenient location and the neighborhood is full of energy. Can't say a bad thing about it.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely French bistro atmosphereLovely French bistro atmosphere with very good food.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for ore or post theatrePerfect for ore or post theatre Food amazing. Staff went out of their way to point out gluten free offerings. This was much appreciated.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was really remarkable. The service was really remarkable. I took the time to tell the Maitre d' that the staff, to a person, was first rate, attentive, considerate and..wonder of wonders....actually asked before clearing plates, rather than hastily clearing while one person is still eating (one of my pet peeves in the bad manners department).
The restaurant has come a long way toward returning to its earlier spot for fine dining in the theater district.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMareilles never fails to deliver.Mareilles never fails to deliver. Perfect for pre-theatre dining. Great drinks. Octopus appetizer was so,so but mussels w/fries was terrific. Attentive service gets you out on time for your show4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI keep returningMy fifth or sixth time there, so I must like it a lot. We went with two young women, one from Marseille and the other from Brussels. We had a great time. I've done lunch, brunch and dinner there.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy we wentGreat find for us ,loved the food ,can't wait to go back4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only regret that I hadThe only regret that I had was that I wish I would have known that the kitchen closes for two hours when I was making my reservation. I had a reservation for 2:30 and was upset that I was given 10 minutes to place an order for the kitchen. My first choice "steak frites" was not available so I was rushed to choose a burger. Should I have known that there was a break in the kitchen, I would have made my reservation later or earlier. Nonetheless, what I did get to eat was amazing. The crab cakes were perfect. My waitress was very knowledgeable in recommending a great wine, she was extremely friendly and pleasant - always smiled! That was a plus for me. I would definitely return. Thank you Marseille!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPost theater evening meal.Post theater evening meal. Tasty food, great atmosphere, great service. The bouillabaisse was fantastic and highly recommended. Good beer menu.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new favorite pre-theater placeA perfect place for pre-theater food. Nice decor, decent service, and better than expected food. I am reluctant to say more as I may not get a reservation the next time I want one! I would even recommend this restaurant if you are not going to the theater. This was my second time there and we were pleased both times.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Place to Go near Times SquareThis is the only place to go for dinenr before a Broadway show (it's just as good if you dont' have a curtain to catch). You can get in and out quickly, yet never feel rushed. The daily specials are always good, and fairly priced. It is a stalwart.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friends and I enjoyed theMy friends and I enjoyed the brunch very mush. It was the perfect venue to start off our day. The restaurant was a bit noisy though.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is our pre-theater brunch/lunchIt is our pre-theater brunch/lunch "go to" place especially with a small group. They always get you out on time and the food is good. The pomme frites are some of the best I have had in a long time and the cafe au lait takes me back to France. It can get a bit pricey with the alcohol so opt for a bottle of wine if you are having more than a glass. We will be back.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy! We had a pre-theatre dinner here and loved it! The price-fixe for $38 is well worth it with great selections and plentiful portions. Highly recommend the Tuscan Chicken - just delicious! The onion soup, hangar steak and special red snapper received rave reviews as well. Don't miss the creme brulee and cappucino! Excellent!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMToo noisy by far. Too badToo noisy by far. Too bad since otherwise excellent4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoy MarsaillesI really enjoy Marsailles as a great neighborhood experience, unfortunately the last two times have been there have been issues that the restaurant apparently has NO policy in dealing with. I came for lunch last week, beautiful day, relaxing, and a mother and her screaming baby carried on for over an hour. No one approached her and suggested that she might want to take her lunch to go. She walked the screaming child around the restaurant to quiet him while the staff just looked dumb founded.
On Tuesday I came in for dinner with a friend and a large table of teenagers were screaming and carrying on while their mothers were engaged amongst themselves. My quest and I complained but no one approached the parents or children.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter Ben was most accomodatinOur waiter Ben was most accomodating and very friendly4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to celebrate a friend'sWe went to celebrate a friend's birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special.
