Our Executive Chef, Acharf Taby is excited to bring Morocco to Washington DC and share his experience and his love of food with all of our guests. Born in Morocco and raised in a house that catered to royals and heads of state, Chef Acharf learned early on how to prepare the delicious and savory… food that is so unique to Morocco. After attending culinary school in France, Chef Acharf returned to Morocco to begin his own catering company. After moving between Africa, Europe, and Morocco, Chef Acharf came to settle in Washington DC. Here he is able to do what he loves and share a little taste of Morocco with the nation's capital. Marrakesh P Street is a wonderful combination of the taste of Morocco and warm hospitality. Upon entering the doors, you will be greeted with the lush atmosphere of a classic Moroccan lounge. "Although there was a bar with liquor and a menu with liquor no liquor was available. Also the dishes like lentils and fava beans were served without spoons and we had to keep asking for a spoon with each new dish. Server was nice but needed a bit more training."

"Food was without any flavor and the couscous was totally dry. Smoked eggplant had no smokey taste at all and was like glue. Also they don't have a license so no beer or wine available"

"no alcohol available.no liquor license?? ...waitress, seemed as if she never worked before... food was poor and disappointing, wrong salad brought to table.. got main entree but never the side that was ordered with entree.. and side was still on the bill!!!!... had to ask to remove from bill.. was here 2 yrs agowas fabulous .. BEWARE owners have changed and the name also.."

"Belly dancer was good. Food was fair. They were not serving alcohol the night we went (no explanation given) so we were a little disappointed. Cous cous dinners were fair, they needed more sauce, too dry."

"When we got there the place was pretty empty but after bring seated we waited for our menus. Our waiter then told us they had lost their liquor license for 72 hours (which wasn't exactly true as the sign in the window said they lost it for a month and wouldn't get it back until March 5th). So, without drinks, we waited what seemed a very long time for food to come out. When I thought our food was coming out it was just a bread basket and some tasty olive tapenade. I found the mussels a little fishy but otherwise the food was fine. I just found the service extremely slow (something I might not have noticed as much if I had had a glass of wine in front of me"

"Ambiance and service were fantastic, but the food was bland. The chicken pastis was dry and hard. The couscous royale was beautifully adorned with vegetables and very tender meat, but it all tasted the same (except for the sausage). No hints of fruits or spices to liven up flavors."

"Go for the food, or go for the belly dancing - you will NOT be disappointed. We had a party of 7 on a Saturday night: 3 of which were 20-ish, 1 not particularly food adventurous, 4 of which were 50-ish - EVERYONE was delighted with the entire experience. And the service could not have been better. We all shared Hot Tapas (devoured!): In order of popularity - Chicken Pastry, Beef Cigars, Shrimp, & Moroccan Meatballs. Dinners (also devoured): Lamb Couscous, Lamb Couscous Tfaya, Chicken Tagine, Fish Tagine. Vegetable Couscous is divine. Baklava is mouth watering. Run, do not walk!"
