Diner Reviews
  • "Food was great and service excellent. It was a little noisy for my taste."

  • "We had a very nice dinner at Marley's. There were two adults and three teenage boys. We were immediately seated and had an amazing server who was super-attentive. Food was very good but not great. It was a bit noisy but we were near the bar. Atmosphere is fun and tropical."

  • "We had a party of seven. All of the seafood was overdone. The fish was dry. The shrimp and scallops were tough."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "The restaurant was enjoyable for both kids and adults but they do need to enlarge their kids menu to include hamburgers. I had what was a well grilled fish up until where it was smothered with salsa which ruined the taste of the fish. Other entrees were well appreciated."

  • "Good food. Just a little noisy, but if you have kids it works well."

  • "We met friends for dinner and a party of four set in a semicircle booth. A little cramped. Noise level was louder than I remember from the last time there. It may have been where we were seated, but it was hard to carry on a conversation. We had the red fish nightly special. I was disappointed. We thought it was overpriced. It was not what I expected for $29.00. My friend had the tuna, and liked it. It looked better, bigger, and for less price. Overall it was an okay dinner, just not what I remembered from previous visits"

  • "Great food. Fun dining experience with family or friends. Very popular place. Supa Dupa Grouper is amazing."

  • "We have been to Hilton Head Island for the past 16 years vacationing and tried Marleys for the first time. It was a hit with the family! Our server Jessica was fantastic and led us through a great meal. We loved the plantains! The fresh fish was absolutely fantastic!"

  • "First time at the restaurant and three of four meals were very average. Did not like the BBQ sauce on the salmon."

  • "Great food, fun atmosphere, excellent service! Supa Dupa Grouper and sugar cane scallops are awesome. Cuban dish:fantastic, Broiled sea food trio: excellent! kids meals: perfect. Bad choice in music and noise level off the charts...out of control, so bring your earplugs and a megaphone so you can communicate with your fellow diners, servers and kids. The music genre doesn't match the vibe of the restaurant theme. Think Metallica concert on steroids and you are seated right in front of the speaker towers during a guitar solo. Yikes!"

  • "Food lacked flavor and came either cold or under cooked. Will not be returning."

  • "Been wanting to go. Made reservations for a weeknite. Crazy My server was pleasant but hurried. My bad for going during season. The food was tasteful but not special. I will return after summer season and give it another try. I liked the menu πŸ˜Šβ•πŸ΄"

  • "Visited Marleys three times and it went from bad to worse for our last visit. Made a reservation and was seated finally outside 20 minutes after we arrived on time for our reservation. From there it took 40 minutes to get bread, an hour to get an appetizer, and then only got a part of our order. the final person in our party got his order after everyone was finished - 90 minutes after we sat down. They made things right with the bill, but this was a problem of management and the kitchen. After all that the food (never better than just average), was definitely not worth waiting for. Won't be going back."

  • "Atmosphere is okay, service is good, food is very good but the price is too high for regular folks like us. In today's economy, people still check for bargains."

  • "Asked to a booth end up at a 4 top right outside the kitchen"

  • "We were greeted and seated within 10 minutes of arrival for our 7:15 reservation. The server was well informed and quick to respond to requests for drinks, refills, etc. It was a bit noisy but it's June on Hilton Head and it was the dinner hour so we expected that, and it's not bad even though it's "energetic". The food was well prepared and great presentation as has always been the case when we've dined there. I ordered the Sugar Cane Scallops and they melted in my mouth. Hubby and friends had fish and it was also wonderful. We go at least once each time we're on the Island and have never been disappointed. It's one of our favorite dining spots on HH."

  • "We visit Hilton Head every year for a family reunion. Marley's is always a favorite place on our list. This year was disappointing. While our service was terrific - Cheyenne is a great server - the food was marginal at best. One of my favorite dishes, Supa Dupa Grouper, was really not good. The fish was over cooked and dry, the black beans seemed to be days old and the green beans were cold. The appetizer chips and salsa was also not good. The chips were stale and hard. The atmosphere is always lively and the staff seems very capable and nice but I don't think we will make Marley's part of our plans next year."

  • "When on vacation in the area we always make a point to visit Marley's, their food is outstanding. There menu is just a little unique without being outlandish, the ingredients are thoughtfully put together. It never disappoints."

  • "My family & I ate here on our last night before leaving for home. It was on a list of restaurants recommended by the Cottages of Shipyard. The service was outstanding & all of our food was terrific. Again, very sad it was our last day or we would have come more often to eat."

  • "We have been coming to Hilton Head for 10 years and have never eaten at Marleys ... Our mistake!! The food (voodoo shrimp, salmon, strip, steak skewer, chicken fingers) was outstanding! The service (Jessica) was fantastic. After a hot day on the beach this was a very pleasant environment for our family ... We loved it so much we are going back tonight."

  • "We always go to Marley's when we visit Hilton Head on vacation. The whole family can find something to suit them on the menu -- from pasta to grilled items. The staff is always accommodating and energetic. We always stop by the ice cream shop afterwards for dessert and to play all the fun games they have outside."

  • "Went there for the first time on June 15th wasn't what I expected but the food was great it was a bit noisey so I would recommend this place for a romantic dinner"

  • "Been several years since we dined here and found the food much improved. Service was only fair as two other large tables were assigned to our server right after we were seated. This was not fair to the server or to us. Enjoyed the grouper meal and the shrimp appetizer. Great quality for family dining."

  • "Great food and great service! The swordfish was awesome!"

  • "Marley's is ideal for a family dinner. If you don't have kids in your party, you'll find some sitting next to you :) We had a party of 6 (4 adults + 2 kids). The kids menu was comparable to what you'd find elsewhere. Our kids seemed to enjoy their meals. The standard adult menu had a lot of variety (including price). I took the more cost effective route and went with the Rasta Chicken Pasta. Good portion with a little zip. The Pork Tenderloin w/ Peanut sauce also go a 2 thumbs up at the table. Marley's does take reservations. Be wise, and make the reservation because it can get busy. When you're done with dinner, stroll over to the ice cream shop next door and enjoy watching the kids play the outdoor games."

  • "We've been dining at Marleys every year while on vacation for quite some time. In the past, we usually had a long wait but it was always worth it. This year we had an open table reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter, Kevin was attentive and made some good recommendations for us. Last year we were given a coupon for 25% off and we were able to use it on this visit. Sugar cane sea scallops is my personal favorite."

  • "We have been coming to Hilton Head for 20 years, every summer we pick 2-3 restaurants for our nights out. This was this years winner by far. We all shared an appetizer ( the island pu pu plater) and had an entree each. There was more than enough, The cuban pork skewers were great, not dry at all and the supa dupa grouper was outstanding. The cajan seafood special was so good, everybody wanted it. Definitely a place to return to again."

  • "Very beachy themed. Some of the best service we've had. Food was good."

  • "The food and service were outstanding. I had the combo steamed seafood which was excellent. The only down side was that the house chardonnay was horrible - we probably should have sent it back."

  • "We've always enjoyed Marley's food and we are appreciative of the specials that they offer. During this visit I mentioned that the skull creek casserole was no longer on the menu and Joy said "No problem. We have all the ingredients. We'll make it for you." When it arrived the casserole was delicious just as I had remembered it. I was and am overwhelmed. P.S. I also like the way we can make reservations on line. One more reason to like Marley's. P.P.S. We also appreciate that the new owners honored our old coupon."

  • "This restaurant is always a family favorite every time we visit Hilton Head. We were once again not disappointed this visit as well. One is the favorites is the grilled Caesar salad and Lobster tacos. Sangria is wonderful as well. Only minor negative is Happy Hour is only available at the bar, not dining tables. Enjoy!"

  • "Marley's has been our vacation favorite for 5 years, and again it did not disappoint. The drinks are great, the food imaginative and delicious, and the service exceptional. We love it!"

  • "Had a wonderful dining experience on Saturday night with a group of 8. Loved being able to use the open table reservations option and there was a wide variety of dishes & specials to suit everyone's taste. Been to Marley's many times and will do so in the future."

  • "The decor here is really cool, and you feel like you are in a tropical village that centers around a big circle bar area. The food and service were good as well, and there are many different menu selections from sandwiches to full dinners. Also, lots of fresh local fish selections to be had. However, the jamacian jerk chicken is a great alternative if fish is not your thing. I would make a reservation in the busy summer season, since it is not far from the beach and the many vacation rentals in that area."

  • "We had visited Marley's earlier this Spring...it was so, so..we went back because we knew Serge Group had re-acquired the business. We were not disappointed... Claudia (our server) was cheerful and enthusiastic..a table visit by Dennis West , Mgr., was much appreciated.."
