We were very eager to try Mark's, but had a very mixed experience. We ordered the same appetizers, scallops with goat cheese ravioli, and then the same shrimp/scallop pasta entree. The waitress only brought us one appetizer with warm scallops but cold ravioli. When we alerted her to her mistake, they quickly made and brought us a second appetizer. This one had warm ravioli so it was much better. When our entrees arrived, we were extremely disappointed to find that the same sauce that was on the appetizer was on the entree, although they had been described very differently in the menu. Not only were the sauces misrepresented, but we thought the waitress could have alerted us that we were essentially ordering the same thing. We would have chosen something else for the entree. As a positive, desptie a couple of mistakes, the wait staff was extremely nice and made you feel welcome. Unfortunately, the mixed food quality and lack of accurate food description ruined our experience.

I am surprised that the wait staff of a restaurant of this quality, our tab for entrees and one beer and one wine with shared dessert was $100+, is so casually dressed. Specifically, I would not expect to see wait staff with rolled up sleeves. Noise level is high....as with all most all restaurants.

number 1 reason I would not visit again: the wine list is very limited and the selections are extremely over priced. After ordering, it was over an hour before our food arrived. We had made revs. 2 hours before a concert time and the delay still had to rush or meal to make it. overall-the bottle of wine was almost 50%of our bill. Not worth the price.

My husband and I ordered the beet salad and diver scallop dinner. Beet salad small was $5.50 and the scallop dinner was $23.00 When the salad arrived I saw one slice of red beet and two small slices of an orange color beet. Nothing special about this salad at all. Then the scallop dinner came and I was shocked to see only 3 Sea scallops on the plate. The pasta was chewy and there was no sauce just some juice that looked like something had thawed out like a frozen Lean Cuisine frozen meal my college student eats. The people were very friendly but this particular meal was very bad, perhaps the other meals are better but I am not taking a chance on going back. I would take this off the menu.

I took my wife to Mark's recently for her birthday "date" dinner. We took seats inside, but were tempted to sit in the attractive garden patio. The menu was attractive, with wide variety and good description. Service was good and as I have found several times in the past, was excellent. I would, and do, recommend this restaurant to friends.

Last Saturday I went to Marks Restaurant. We had reservations but we first sat at the Bar. The Bartender, Stephan was great. He helped us ordered drinks and was very knowledgeable about various wines and distilled beverages. Following drinks we sat in the dinning room. Service at Marks is second to none in the Greensboro area. The wait staff is very friendly and really know their stuff. Menu was very good. My Date had a filet and I had a pork chop both were excellent. I dine out several nights a week and Marks is my favorite restaurant in the Triad.

I have frequented Mark's for years with family and also work functions. The food is always great; the personalized service is always hard to find but we have always received it. what more needs to be said? this place has horrible service, every time, but it gets worse, not better, with each visit... the waiter never asked us if we needed anything, we had to do all the asking. Friend's shrimp and grits - she didn't like, they were out of cream for the sauce but didn't tell her until she asked why it was so different than previous times she'd ordered it. He didn't offer to fix her something else or take part of the bill. Caesar salad was okay, hard to mess up a caesar. I think overall the food is okay, a bit pricey for the quality, but it's the consistently bad service that will keep me from coming back.

Disappointing! Veggies way overcooked and too salty. My pork chop was a nice cut of meat and I'd give it a 3 1/2 for flavor. My husband had pasta that was ok on the flavor scale. Bartender recommended fun cocktails and was great about pouring tastes of the wines until we found the right one. Not too many patrons on a Friday night, 4 tables of guests. Chef Mark was out and about but only visiting with a couple of tables, clearly his regulars. It felt like this restaurant needs a revival - and please don't overcook veggies! Outdoor area could be nice but looks unkept including the front entrance. Thought this would be an upscale operation but it failed us. Not sure we will go again.

The food was the best part of our dining experience; presentation was great and preparation was to our satisfaction. The host who seated us was polite, friendly, and professional. The service was good, however, the waiter could have been more attentive, as in "where is he?" and it was not very busy for a Saturday evening. What we found to be out of place for this more upscale restaurant was a man going from the kitchen through the restaurant into the bar area to get something to drink. His attire was disheveled and didn't seem clean. After about the third trip we asked a waiter about him and was told he's the dishwasher. Maybe have drink delivery service to him in the kitchen as he doesn't leave a very favorable impression.

I have been to many upscale restaurants in the area, and Mark's was a wonderful addition to my list. My sweetheart and I went for a romantic meal in preparation for the symphony performance that night. When we walked in, the waitstaff inquired if we were going to the performance, and made sure our meal was served in a timely manner. Our drinks never went empty, and the manager personally spoke with every table. The food was exceptional. Truffle fries, duck, stuffed pork chop, and the decadent chocolate soufle (it takes up to an hour to prepare, but is SO worth it.) Other restaurants would not pay attention to us when I used a coupon, but our waiter took extra care of our table. The ambiance tops it all off. Mark's is fantastic!

If you're looking for superb flavors, great service and amazing dessert - take a trip to Mark's Restaurant. I decided to take my mom somewhere different for Mother's Day. After searching the web, Mark's popped up. The reviews were solid and I loved the menu. Needless to say, my entire family loved each aspect of the meal. From the Scottish salmon to the flat iron steak, we were very pleased. And to top it off the personalized key lime and blackberry pies were to do for. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

We started off the evening at the bar with martinis and they were great! Mark's has a nice, cozy bar area which we enjoyed! We were not able to sit outside because it was raining, but look forward to doing that sometime soon - great atmosphere outside! The food was very good and the service was excellent. I would have liked to see more "fish" choices on the menu however. I would definitely go back to Mark's, especially for special occasions.

We have dined at Mark's a few times in the last couple of years and the food is good but not great. The menu is limited but they do have nightly specials. The atmoshpere is a little odd - when you are seated you pass through the first room (which used to be a dining room for the previous restaurant in this buildling) - but now it has this large bar that is dark - so I am not sure how it is used. I think the food could be better with not much effort and the decor/atmosphere liven up a bit and it would rate higher.

Very easy to recommend this place. Excellent food and service. Respectable list of wines by the glass, which is not common. Nice variety on the menu means something for everyone, but not so much that the food quality suffers. Food was great including Salads, Steak and fish. Nice comfortable dining experience hosted by real professionals. Visiting from Canada on business, this was a lucky find. Made us feel like we were on vacation for the evening.

Mark's tries to replicate higher end restaurants in larger cities that serve creative dishes. Unfortunately, the execution is poor. Our sever confused class with pretentiousness which left everyone feeling awkward and comfortable. I ordered the ribeye. I understand a ribeye is a different kind of cut than a strip. However, this piece of meat looked and tasted like something you would get at Longhorn Steakhouse.

This was our second time dining here. Both times the service seemed a bit garbled, although this time was worse. The food was very good, but we waited over 20 minutes after being seated before anyone visited us, which occurred after we flagged someone down. That is 20+ minutes with no water, bread, drink. Our impression so far is that despite good food, the front of the house struggles. They may be running light on staff to save money, and if so, it shows.

Extremely poor service. Slow drinks/food. When my wife asked about the Tile fish, the server said "I've never had it but the kitchen doesn't smell fishy, so it's probably not a fishy taste." Manager finally brought out a round of drinks and said he would remove from the bill. He did not and we had been there too long to worry with it. Two parties of two near us left before their food came. When a large table next to us complained, the bartender, who was helping with drinks because the server was nowhere to be found, told them "We have a very small kitchen so it takes longer." Finally, the food was luke warm and not good. This is not what we are used to at this restaurant. Not sure we will be back...and I hate losing one of my favorites.
