  • "Had a great dinner with terrific food but one table was extremely noisy to the point that I could not hear my spouse speaking to me even though the noisy table was in the back of the restaurant. Also, went dressed up as I expected the restaurant to have a dress code (and according to signage, they do) though someone sitting right in front of us was in shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops. It was good but for the price, I was just expecting more."

  • "Greeted and seated promptly. Dining room was so dark that we needed a small flashlight to read the menu. Varied menu gave a lot of choice but mostly steaks as expected. My dates petite filet was order medium rare and came very rare. The waitress took it back to the kitchen. My steak was delivered as ordered. Side portions were huge and best to share. Asparagus was fine but the hollandaise was the worst we ever had. 5 layer dark chocolate cake was very god and huge. The crème Brule wasn't good at all. We will not return."

  • "My wife had fish as well as her brother visiting from out of State. His spouse enjoyed the Pork Chop Dinner. Appetizers, bread and salads were good. Service was very good. Only problem was my steak. New York Strip was full of grissile (sp), and excessive amount of fat ingrained in the meat. It was more like a Sirloin than a New York Strip. It was cooked the way I like, however I could only eat about one third of it. Probably will not go back."

  • "Our waitress when bringing our food spilled grease from my chicken that I had ordered all over my shirt , pants and arm , she did not even say she was sorry, or offer to get me something to wipe it off , I had to ask the man that carried out her tray to get me club soda,even when she brought the bill she never acknowledged anything, she seemed to be a little snootie,the grease never did come out, besides that ,the food was good,terrible waitress"

  • "We typically pick Mark's for special occasions and visit 4-5 times per year. Over the past several years we have never been disappointed. This evening we shared a wedge salad--one of our favorites, and sharing makes each portion just the right size. We also shared a shrimp cocktail, and the shrimp were gigantic! The salad and shrimp were nearly a meal! My delmonico was spot on at medium-rare, as always--great marbelized beef flavors!. My wife chose the diver's scallops, and they were prepared just like you see on TV--crusty and carmelized on the outside, and perfectly moist, tender and tasty in the middle. We can never resist the sides, and this night we chose sauteed mushrooms and the lyonnaize potatoes. Yum! Great service."

  • "Food was spot on as usual! The bread came to the table and was steaming hot and the butter just soaked right in! Main course was cooked perfectly and with the sizzling hot plate with butter I would recommend ordering your steak a bit rarer than you like so that it will be cooked the way you like! If there was anything I could complain about it was that this particular time it was a bit chilly in the main dining room but hardly a complaint!"

  • "My reservation for 7.30 pm February 22nd 2014 was problematic. When arriving we were informed it would be at least 30 minutes until our table was ready. we were given an option of eating in a bar booth, which we accepted. the service was slow, the noise level not appropriate for our intended evening. Two of us shared a steak and the steak arrived on 1 plate with a cold service plate for the other portion. In the past the steak was pre-cut and both portions were served 400 degree plates."

  • "I arranged to have my mother's 70th birthday dinner at Mark's. While my parents are a bit fussy (understatement of the century), they found everything from the food to the service to be perfect. Even the temperature was comfortable. Mother started to complain about the low lighting, but before should could our waiter offered her a flashlight to aid her in reading the menu - and this would-be complaint immediately vaporized. I really appreciate how kind and accommodating the staff were and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to please the hard-to-please, and to celebrate a special occasion."

Right on the downtown square, traffic is generally minimal, but pedestrian traffic adds some 'character' to the experience. Great for special occaisions, business outings, or just gathering with friends for happy hour. You will never be disappointed."

  • "Heard that Mark's served fabulous steaks. Knew it would cost at least $50 per person, so expected the best. My filet was about the same quality as Outback or Longhorn. Not worth three times the cost. My two friends had fish and chicken dishes. Again, nice but nothing special. Paid $7.95 for a side of carrots. Served steamed, just plain carrots. Ambience typical steak house, staid, a bit outdated. Altogether a letdown."

  • "We knew going in that we would spend at least $100 for two. We also knew from reviews that portions would be huge, so we split the vegetable dish. Only one of us had alcohol, so that helped the bottom line. We ordered half sized salads which are still really big. Service was impeccable. The steaks (a petite filet and a delmonico) were cooked exactly as ordered. The only complaint is there wasn't much taste. They were tender and juicy, but not flavorful. I think a little garlic in the butter or some kind of seasoning lightly sprinkled on the steaks would help. Didn't even taste any salt or pepper. We spent $115 which is probably conservative for this restaurant. Still prefer Ruth's Chris."

  • "My husband planned a "progressive" dinner and chose Mark's Prime as our main meal. What a mistake! Other than the service, the food was mediocre at best! The lobster Mac was hard, oily, reheated and sent back! The potato that replaced the lobster Mac ... exactly the same. And the steaks they are so note worthy for....not! And best tip...bring your wallet! The two steaks and the ONE potato....$100! Plus tip!"

  • "Disappointing visit recently... it was a cold night, being seated by the door, there was a continuous cold breeze. Our server seemed over allocated on tables, visits were few and far between. 2 out of 4 filets were undercooked and had to be returned to kitchen, timing in kitchen seemed to be off on everything. Too expensive for the service and the average quality of food. It was nothing special for a Traditional Steak place."
