Ever since then, I've been hooked on plates dealing solely with presentation and not portion. When I found Mark's, I was instantly hooked. Being set in an church dating back to the 1920's with the wine storage viewable behind glass above the bar, the design, and the view, is absolutley breathtaking. With each visit, the staff has always been profoundly knowledgeable with what is being served. This past Friday evening, my better half and I had the quail and duck ravioli, white lobster seafood bisque, pear salad, veal tenderloin, lamb, and for dessert, the chocolate coffee tower and warm chocolate cake. We were treated extremely well from the moment we walked in the door and were whisked to our table - on the wall as I requested. The menu is seasonal and we were treated to the "spring" specials and ingredients. I had lobster, crab and scallops in ways I had never tasted before! The flavors were out of this world and the seafood was cooked perfectly! Dessert was decadent and delicious! Our server Brad was spot-on as were those that assisted him. They were super pleasant and warm without being phony. Do make reservations, don't bring your kids, and make sure you have room on your credit card. The valet brought out the wrong car. Our waiter was very soft spoken and difficult to hear against the background noise, but otherwise very helpful. (My husband and I aren't in our dotage, but found ourselves trying to lip read to understand the daily specials!)

I celebrated my 5-year anniversary with my company there and have very special memories from that day. So, I decided to come back for my 15-year anniversary celebration. Somehow, I sat in the same table. I had a completely different group, but still made memories that will last a long time. I look forward to (hopefully) celebrating there again for more anniversaries to come...and other special events to come.

The Google reviews were mixed, but we tried it anyway. We were there for mother’s day, so the menu was shorter than usual. The wine and the service were excellent. Our ribeye's were incredible and cooked to perfection. This is understandable since one of the staff was originally from the Republic in College Station. The salad was the only thing I was not to fond of. The fact the restaurant is in a church, provided for a great scene to have a romantic dinner. Yes the meal was pricey, but overall I found the food and experience worth it. I had visited Italy the previous year and expected something similar to the prosciutto and melon frequently offered in restaurants in Italy . I was disappointed. The ham you served was very salty and there were a few melon balls at most. It was all a little fussy. Simple wedges of cantaloupe and honeydew with some quality prosciutto would have been much better. The ratio was way off.
The desert was the best.
