  • "I took my college student son to MarkJoseph Steakhouse for dinner. The food and service were exceptional. The waiter was very helpful in recommending a Pinot Noir wine that was reasonably priced and went well with the meals we ordered. The bacon appetizer should not be missed. We had the steak for two, which was perfectly done and delicious. The side orders of mashed potatoes and sauted asparagus were excellent. I would recommend the MarkJoseph Steakhouse to anyone looking for a fine steak place in vicinity of the South Street Seaport."

Not only did they provide a delicious slice of birthday cake, but three waiters sang "Happy Birthday" for our table. The filet mignon melted in my mouth. Everything was perfect.   • "The restaurant is perfectly situated on a quiet street in the Seaport. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The steaks and twin lobster tails were among the best I've tasted and the sides were all fantastic...asparagus, broccoli, sauteed onions. For appetizers we had the Tuna Tartare and Oysters...both were amazing! As far as desserts go don't miss out on the tartufo! Highly recommend!!"

  • "I've been to MJ a few times & unfortunately this was my worst experience. I wanted my frens from Singapore to try this place as this is one of my fav steak house. The steaks that we ordered were dry and over cooked. I asked for med rare expecting the meat to have some juice but it didn't. My frens ordered their steak med well but it was well done. They needed to use the steak sauce cos it was way too dry. I never use steak sauce as good steak doesn't need any. The service was great in the beginning but once the bill was paid the service stopped. We were chatting & wanted to finish the bottle of wine that we ordered so we sat for about another half hour. No one came to refill our water. I will go back cos they r not usually this bad."

  • "Went there for the anniversary dinner. And we waited for this receptionist for almost 5 minutes. Because she was busy chatting with other customers. Finally we were seated and the waiter was not nice to take our orders he had not smile until we gave him the check...after then appetizers he kind of throw the plate on the table for our main course. I really hated the attitude and it was our anniversary . When we pay with cash. And gave him about 25~30% tips. He turns into a completely nicer person. With smile on his face. I was so disappointed with the service."

We went for Restaurant Week dinner and the portions were just right. My sirloin was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Everything was delicious. Service was professional yet not stuffy. I am in the process of making another dinner reservation for next week."

  • "My partner and I were two of the very few inhabitants of the restaurant when we first arrived. The maître d sat us at a table off to the side. A server brought over a dish of butter but no bread. The waitress then came over to ask us what we would like to drink. We ordered our drinks and she gave us a few moments to review the menu. The bread was still not brought to our table. Our waitress then returned and asked us what we would like to order. My partner then asked the waitress if she could get the onions instead of the creamed spinach. The waitress then scolded my partner and told her, "it says on the menu, if you read it, that there are no substitutions" with a curt attitude that was demeaning. After that, my experience was dampened."

  • "Pricey but did not dissapoint. Filet mignon was amazing as was my gf's chilean sea bass. Casino Clams were fine, nothing special but overall great experience. Long wait between the apps and entree. I went on V-day so i expected a wait, but I literally waited an hour. 60 whole minutes. I did not complain or say anything because it was V-day and I was in a good mood. I wasn't in a rush. The wine was on the house as well as my coffee. Overall, fantastic. I would go again and recommend to a friend."

  • "This was place was highly recommended to me to try. Had a good vibe from the restaurant the moment I walked in. Food was very delicious. Calamari appetizer was large enough for 2 to share and tasted amazing. Tuna tare-tare was very good as well. Sirloin steak was excellent. Perfectly cooked to what I ordered. Service was a little bit slow but I would guess that was due to Valentines day and it was pretty busy already. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone."

The spacing of the courses was on the money and the staff most definitely customer orientated. I've been there with just my wife and with other groups and found the service level and the meal to be at the same high level."
