It is conveniently located on Fourth Street in the midst of activity. The food was very good --- from appetizer of goat cheese to the cesar salad to the sea bass. The food was great. The table was ready when we arrived. The restaurant was very busy because of Kentucky Derby weekend. There were a few loose ends. We enjoy the quaint atmosphere so much, we made a reservation for our wedding anniversary dinner. Initially we were a little disappointed, as the restaurant was nearly empty when we came in, yet our request for a table in a certain area of the restaurant(made well in advance) was not honored. However, the service was very good, our anniversary was recognized, and the celebration was good. The food is always tasty, and the bartender makes the best cocktails in town. We were offered chocolates on the house in lieu of desert, and the evening was a great celebration of our anniversary.

My lunch companion and I had the burger and the "special" fried chicken -- but bites were exchanged! The deserts are great, too, if you celebrating something special. One of my favorite downtown Louisville spots (across from the famous Derby Clock!).3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining re-defined!Every time we dine at the Marketplace, we become more fond of the place. Eclectic decorations, romantic atmosphere ( especially after the pianist comes in), great food, and great service. The bartender makes the best cocktail ever.
The service is great, attentive but not " in your face", fast, and friendly.

We called to say we were running a few minutes behind & they had no problem accommodating us. The only issue was they seem to be out of a lot of items on their menu. The waitress did bring a dessert to us that was on the house & it was excellent. I will try them again because the food we did have was good & it's a fun spot to dine. We try a new restaurant almost every weekend & I have to say the staff was very good. This is not always the case with new dining in Louisville. We were hesitant to go because our last two visits were not great. However, they have redeemed themselves. Our food was delicious and service was perfect. The food was good, especially the salads, and the service was prompt.
