Great food, interesting dishes, sterling service; all in all a pleasurable experience.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Breakfast - DeliciousMy mom, dad, myself, and 3 kids all went to Market Bar for Mother's Day Breakfast. We ended up sitting outside and people watching as we ate. I had the scrambled egg combo with bacon and potatoes and a side of fruit. My mother had the french toast which tasted amazing. My oldest daughter had the fish and chips which she loved and my dad had the pulled pork sandwich he was raving about long after. I have been to Market Bar many times for breakfast and lunch and I absolutely love it everytime because it is located on the Embarcadero, if you like to people watch, this is an awesome spot for outdoor dining and entertainment. The Ferry Building on a warm San Francisco night it the PLACE to be. At 8 pm the sun glowed rose and the Bay Bridge danced with it's light show out the window of the room where we ate summer salads of shrimp and avocado.

Good food, friendly people, great location. I recently discovered that they're open for breakfast now and it's my favorite breakfast place in the city. Simple menu but every single thing my party has ordered on two visits for breakfast was outstanding. The banana bread is incredibly good, the strawberry jam we got with our toast and eggs was awesome (more like strawberry french toast topping than jam with fresh strawberries). Don't miss the bacon. We dined 2:30, after the lunch hour and well before dinner. Given the off hour I would have been Ok if MarketBar skipped a beat...but this was not the case. The service was outstanding, the waiter friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The meal was typical for the restaurant.....a culinary delight.
