The menu was quite imaginative; the waiter we had was most helpful with both his menu selection recommendations and his caution that we were ordering too much food based on his knowledge of portion sizes. We will most definitely be returning to this restaurant. The Happy Hour menu is a particularly good value!"

  • "Party of four, we all ordered fish. The special was sea bass and was dry and tasted as if it was previously frozen. The salmon and trout were just ok. Not the best by any means. No real draw to come back. The server didn't offer any options when we mentioned the sea bass didn't traste right and was almost offended we mentioned it. No need to try this restaurant again."

  • "We decided to go here on a recent trip to Phoenix. It was about 45 minutes away, but the other restaurants near the hotel were booked. Boy, did we make a good decision. Every thing was fantastic. I am on a gluten free diet and there were several options that were great. The wine list and service were also great. We will definitely come back when we are in Phoenix again and will tell our friends too."

  • "This spot has been home to several restos so it seems to be the Bermuda Triangle of dining. We enjoyed our meal very much so we hope that MSKsurvives. My wife had the fish tacos which were excellent as well as the green pork chili which was very good as well. I had the pork chop which was beautifully cooked and very moist inside.The sweet sauce added a lot of flavor, but the kale kimchi was plain weird. It was very salty and did not enhance the meat. I had fries instead of the grits and they were hot and crispy and very good. I hope that our next experience there is as enjoyable."

  • "It was our first visit and we always pick restaurants based on patios this time of year. The patio had kids and we like to dine for dinner where its quiet. Our food was very bland,,,,I would say the best part was dessert. Our waiter wasnt friendly and it was disappointing. We probably wont go back for dinner. We were there on Saturday night and now understand why you are not busy. Pati's rum cake was delicious!"

  • "nice place but i should have known that availability on a Friday night at 7:00pm was a bad sign. I had the fish special for $32 and the piece of fish was about 4oz. it came on a fennel puree that was just barely a squeeze and some onion and radish strips that was apparently was a salad?? I think it took me four bites to eat the meal. And for $32, what a joke. the manager offered to cook some more fish for me but we were on a tight schedule. Too bad, its nice inside but would only go back for drinks."

  • "We enjoyed the restaurant this first time. Loved the bar area and also the dining area inside. The food was very good from fish to pasta to chicken. The prime rib was just okay. The service was good but slow at times. The other staff was always around for water and the clear plates. Overall everyone in the party had a very good time. We will definitely return."

  • "My companion and I had an fairly early reservation, easily made. We were contacted directly by the staff to verify our dine and when she discovered we were new to the place, were assigned a "VIP" booth. Nice touch. It, and our wait-staff, made the experience superb. We had the Cheese and Charcuterie Board and could have easily enjoyed the larger one. It was deliciously artful. We ate the Fish and Chips and Flat Iron Steak and both were prepared perfectly. Both portions were generous and filled us nearly to the max. The Rum Cake as our finale was both beautiful and delicious. Just the right ending. Made note to bring our most discriminating guests back for a look-see as we are sure they'd approve. Couldn't have enjoyed it much more!"

  • "Very good wine list, with interesting "wine on tap". Our party enjoyed the duck and trout; the green chili pork stew small portion could have been seasoned more. Slightly overpriced entrees IMHO, but wine prices very reasonable. Most notable on walking in is the smokehouse aroma. Appealing decor. Great attentive service and knowledgable staff."

  • "This was my third time at MSK and, as usual, some elements of the meal were wonderful while others fell flat. Last time I griped about the brussels sprouts being covered in raw garlic. This time the garlic was absent but I ordered them plain--no oil or butter--and they came greasy with oil. The pork chop, which was amazing last time, was raw on the inside and I had to send it back. As always, the fromage and charcuterie was to die for--far better than Zinc's. My 3 companions all had the fish and chips and raved about it so they were happy campers. Service was superb on the last two occasions but this time we had a female server who was spacey and confused. Still not sure what to think of this place but I'm willing to give it another shot."

  • "Six of dined at Market Street and had a very pleasant and enjoyable meal. The service was good and the food was as well. We had the Sashimi Hamachi and Steak Tartar, both well prepared and spiced up a notch. For dinner the table had the filet that was served over mashed potatoes with a spiced up Bernaise, a double cut pork chop served with kale and maple syrup over a polenta mash, yum. and Fluke over a risotto. All dishes were well prepared."

  • "I had heard very mixed things about this restaurant and didn't expect much but after my second dining experience here, I am prepared to endorse it. The service has been consistently impeccable--I wish I could remember our server's name--and the food outstanding. Notable: the Cheese & Charcuterie platter and double-thick pork chop, both of which were outstanding. I am disappointed at the lack of salad selections and also their Brussels sprouts side, which was laden with raw garlic (yuck!). Truly awful. Their martinis are a bit chintzy as well, but overall the food and service were worth returning for. I will definitely be back."

  • "Had a great dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. The place was not too busy which surprised us for a Saturday night. I will say that though when our steaks were first brought out they were under cooked to what we asked for, sent them back to the kitchen and when they came back... they were perfect and even the manager brought them out to us, which I felt was a nice touch. Even though I sent the food back to the kitchen, I still felt this was a great meal, service and overall great place to go."

  • "Had a 6:30pm reservation for Saturday. As the hostess was seating us we learned that a large group would be coming in at 8pm and they would be rearranging the room for them but we could stay if we are still eating. Not wanting to be rushed, we opted for a table outside under the heaters. Not the greatest start. Why would they accept our reservation and then rush us through dinner only to accommodate the large group? We decided to make the best of our date night. Then things turned around for the better. Jason (the manager??) came over to apologize and offer us a free charcuterie plate (yum!) and then also brought us a free app -- green chili pork stew. It was amazing! Jason saved our date night and made us want to go back to try MSK again!"

The beef tenderlion was tough. Not sure if it was an off night, but in my opinion there should not have been an off night for the price of the food."

  • "Tried the happy hour last week and were blown away by the creative, delicious apps at half off after all of the boring SW food you find at regular happy hours. Cornmeal dusted fried oysters napped in beautiful sauce with caviar, hefty pork chile casserole my hubby dug, plump mussels in ham hock broth - this place should be more crowded! Nice bartender. We tried NY Eve early dinner since the view places were all booked and again I was thrilled with the special ono or Opah fish special, double portion of FRESH perfectly grilled fish over 2 colors of squashes, crisp green beans etc. The baked cauliflower w/mornay sauce was Delish. Nice staff and I viewed the wall of wines while the steward climbed a rolling ladder. Nice muted lighting."

  • "We stumbled into a very pleasant experience on Christmas Eve........ Had meant to go to MSK when Robert Mc Grath was cooking but never got there. Our expectations were not high but we were very pleasantly surprised at the physical space----trendy but sophisticated, and at the menu and wine choices. Our food was excellent--me "collard pesto linguini" and hubby "fish tacos small plate" . Our wait person was knowledeable and very pleasant. However the number of dinners he was trying gamely to serve made our wait time a bit too long. Staffing appeared to be somewhat thin."

  • "Have had lunch here on a couple occasions, both good. This was our first evening meal. Met some good friends for an early dinner on Sunday. Ordered the market fish, which I usually stay away from on Sundays (I think that was Anthony Bourdain's warning years ago). Anyway, it was one of the best swordfish preparations I've ever had. The apps or small plates were great too, esp the fish tacos and green pork chili stew. Nice patio setting and very good service. Definitely recommend. The true test is to get the same level of food and service on my next visit. I will return!"

The manager came around to see that we were pleased and we were. I will bring friends back. It is close to the house and is our go to place now."

  • "I had been meaning to try Market Street Kitchen since it opened a year ago. When I learned they would be offering 50% off in honor of their anniversary I persuaded my husband and a friend to give it a try. I am so glad I did. The ambience inside was more elegant than the rustic appearance from the street would indicate and the food was outstanding. Two of us had the surf & turf special while my husband had the prime rib and none of us were disappointed. The rum cake and Kahlua cake were mind blowing. Our server Sean provided impeccable service despite the restaurant being packed that evening. We will definitely be back!"
