Diner Reviews
  • "Service and food was good as always. You must make a reservation at least 2 weeks before to get the time slot you want."

  • "great food with a lot of regulars. consequently if you are eating at the bar it can be hard for a new face to get folks attention."

  • "Four people in our party ordered from the prix fixe menu. Limited choice of items, but enough variety to please all of us. Huge pot of mussels was delicious. Potato leek soup was good. Caesar salads were a bit different as they included kale. Desserts were awesome! Recommended for people who like food and are willing to taste different foods, especially the variety of local vegetables used in the dishes."

  • "Very pretty restaurant. A little too dark and noisy. Food was fresh, and I love that you have organic chicken, but I found it to be bland. Lack of creative seasonings and sauces. An extreme amount of oil was used in preparing the chicken, and there was no other flavor. Salmon was fresh and cooked right, but again, it needed a nice sauce to go with it. I wanted to love Market Bistro, but I was disappointed."

  • "When you first approach the entrance you notice some darkened windows nestled among the rest of the shops situated in this strip mall. It does not prepare you for the inside. As you walk in you realize you've been transported to another place. The bar to the left stacked with bottle to the ceiling. Wood and brick everywhere contrasted with the black tables and chairs. You look back at the dark windows facing the out site and you're surprised by how easily you can see out. The waiter, friendly and knowledgeable. You have to try the Bison Sliders and Flat Bread appetizers. This is the type of place you will add to your favorite restaurants list. Great for a romantic wedding anniversary dinner or just for a fun night out."

  • "We had the mussels which are always delicious. We both ordered the salmon medium and it was served well done. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he just shrugged."

  • "Love the atmosphere. Black bean avocado dip was off the charts.. Meatballs, those need some work. All in all a nice expierience"

  • "Overall not a great experience. Food is decent but over priced which was not the worst part. We were constantly having our plates, cup of cappuccino's taken away when we were not even finished. We ask to order a drink after our bill and were told NO because there were other reservations. However, no one was waiting for tables. I must add we were no longer than an hour at our table. We have never felt so rushed and pressured to hurry up and eat. When the bill came the waitress must have come over at least 5 times in a matter on 20 minutes to settle the check. NOT, a place to enjoy your meal and catch up with someone."

  • "They only serve food that is locally grown and fresh. This make a bigger difference that you would think and the food and service are both excellent."

  • "We dined at Market Bistro for lunch. My friend and I ordered the beet salad with shrimp. We were surprised when the salad was served with iceberg lettuce as it's base. We have had the beet salad at dinner and we do not remember any iceberg lettuce. It was so ordinary and not what we expected from a restaurant who prides them selves on carrying farm fresh ingredients from Satur Farms and other farms in the area. I am quite sure that Satur Farms does not produce iceberg lettuce."

  • "I love when I find a friend who hasn't gone to Market Bisteo before because it is always a good time. Whether you order a variety of small plates to share, or order your own meals, it is always delicious. The price fixe menu is good too! My only wrinkle in the review is that we waited over 5 minutes for our server to greet us and take a drink order....it wasn't a bust night either. Having worked in the food service business before, I know things can get hectic but...always greet your customers in a timely manner. Just my advice. A smile and a hello goes a long way!"

  • "We were attending a show at the Tilles Center and wanted to eat at a relatively convenient location - Market Bistro was a great choice. Dinner reservations were for 5:45 and we were seated immediately - menu choices were varied and all food coming out of the kitchen looked great - food, atmosphere and service were terrific - cannot wait to come back with friends."

  • "The food and vibe here is always consistent. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. I have to give a heads-up to the man who clears the table...he is the friendliest, sweetest guy...always a smile and a hello!"

  • "I don't want my review of this restaurant to be over the top but I have no choice. The owner is alway on hand making sure everyone is happy, the food is alway hot and amazing. Try the wings or the sliders. And I go there at least once a week because the sushi appetizer is the absolute best."

  • "If when we were seated we had been told that they needed to turn the table over withn a specified period of time we would have gladly moved our dinner along more quickly. We felt rushed from the moment we were seated through dessert. They even went as far as to clear the table down to the place mats and then asked us to move out. I would return for the food, but not on a weekend night."

  • "We had such a wonderful dining experience and we are anxious to return. We were seated at our precise reservation time and the restaurant is quite lovely. Service was efficient friendly and courteous. The menu is varied and interesting with a pix fixe as well as soup of the day. I had the meatballs and they were delicious I had the scallop dinner and it was excelletn. My sisters had the chicken and that was superb. During the meal our server checked in a perfect amount of times. Dessert was passable, perhaps the only weakness here. Although patrons are seated close together- you cannot hear other peoples conversation and noise is not an issue at all. This is a place I could see becoming a favorite."

  • "A dining experience that is comfortable and relaxed with a Downtown Manhattan feel without the commute or price. The food is fantastic (the kitchen knows what they are doing!). The service is attentive yet not overbearing. The prices are reasonable. Whether we eat in the dining room or at the bar, Market Bistro is a HOME RUN every time we go. HOORAY FOR MARKET BISTRO!"

  • "Our meal was wonderful--great menu, excellent food. Our problem was with our waitress. We ordered 2 extra-dry martinis--one gin and one vodka. She brought them on a tray and couldn't remember which was which. They didn't taste right to me and it turns out she thought we had ordered extra-dirty martinis. She just stood there thinking maybe we'd just drink them. My husband ordered a glass of wine and she just put it in front of him and kept walking. He felt like she threw it at him. She needs some better training or else she needs to find a new career for herself. No one was happy with her service--not at all gracious and welcoming. Servers also didn't know who got which dish and reached across each of us to serve the others."

  • "had a sensational meal at the bar this saturday....martinis were perfect...the bean and avocodo dip was stupid good as were the risotto balls.....wife had the best salmon she has ever had and my rib eye steak was off the charts....will be back...."

  • "Love this restaurant. Cant really find too many places with this feel on Nirth Shore of Nassau County. Food, service...all good. Prices are a bit steep. Tables are soooo close together you cannot have a private conversation here. When I got there the place was empty. I was seated. Within minutes they sat parties on either side of me while the rest of the place was empty! That was pretty annoying. Go with another person and share a few small plates. Unfortunately they got rid of my favorite app...chickpea crackers with various dips."

  • "Eating at Market Bistro makes me feel like I've been transported to the Bay Area. I love their twists on classic dishes and the wine selection is great!"

  • "We went for a late lunch. The lunch menu was limited. I had the fluke sandwich with greens. The greens were soggy having sat in salad dressing for who knows how long. The fluke was said to be fresh, brought in that day from out east, but I don't believe that was true. It wasn't frozen, but it was not as fresh as the waiter said. My husband had the rueben, and it was nothing special, he had had better. I would not return."

  • "The restaurant was warm, in both heat and atmosphere. The food was delicious and well presented. We were with friends who have hearing problems and the noise level was such that we were able to converse normally. We weren' t rushed, but allowed to linger and talk. It was a very good dining experience."

  • "Great spot if you're in the mood for small plates, ready to commit to a full meal, or just have a glass of wine at the bar -- warm, friendly service, food consistently good, atmosphere always welcoming."

  • "This restaurant was a great find; as it is located in a strip mall. It has a relaxing feel, is well decorated, and has great service. What then made it even better was the fact that the cuisine had local ingredients, breadth of dishes was wide, and they offered delicious small plates. I highly recommend this local spot!!!"

  • "market bistro gets an extra star because it is so needed. Jericho not know as a culinary destination. nice place. nicely decorated (nothing too elaborate) tables very close together. ALWAYS BUSY (see first two sentences) the food is excellent. The menu does not cover new ground, but the food offered is a decent value and very well prepared. be prepared for noise. the noise level borders on uncomfortable. we will return, likely on a week night. just too much tumult on a Saturday night. SN"

  • "This restaurant has been frequented by a group of friends and we are always happy with our food choices. The chicken was amazing and enjoyed by all who ordered it. Apple crisp hit the spot on a rainy chilly night."

  • "I have been to Market Bistro many times. But on this last visit I was disappointed. I ordered the baby beets and the beets were undercooked and the dressing had no taste. This is normally one of my favorite dishes. The tuna and soba noodles was also bland. An off night! However, the brownie and marshmallow dessert was excellent"

  • "My wife and I tried this restaurant after reading an Edible East End article about its farm-to-table ethos. We have never looked back since, and this is our go- to restaurant for dining out. Nassau County is fortunate to have a restaurant like Market Bistro that has a sense of passion and purpose, driven by local ingredients, solid preparation and warm, gracious service. (Great rotating selection of beer on tap certainly doesn't hurt either!) We've probably eaten there over two dozen times, and the restaurant earns stripes for consistent delivery of quality food and service. My only criticism might be that deserts are on the heavy side, and although they are still very good, some lighter options would be a welcome addition. Love this place!"
