A word from Market 17
Market 17 is proud to be serving delicious, creative dishes that are literally from the farm right to the tables of our diners. We call this "wine country cuisine" because the emphasis is on fresh, clean food from top purveyors along with an abundant wine list.

For the more adventurous diner, Market 17 offers 'dining in the dark'. It is our chefs table in a private room that allows a new way to experience food. Once your sight is turned off, all the other senses are heightened. It's a fun and unique experience to enjoy our food. (Due to limited seating, reservations for dining in the dark can be requested via open table notes but are not guaranteed. Please call 954.835.5507 to confirm dining in the dark reservation requests.)

Our menu will change daily and we'll always offer amazing tasting menus for you to sample what the chef has created. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about!

the food was fair at most. The kale salad was not good. The Wahoo which seems to be on the menue all the time was ok. The only thing that we really enjoyed was the cheese platter. That was thé 3 rd time we were there and the last.

I went to Market 17 with a colleague while attending a conference. The menu was varied and they were able to accommodate vegetarians nicely, though it might be harder for vegans. I particularly liked that you could order a tasting portion of the entrees as they were quite large. They also had wine available in 3 or 6 oz portions. The food was fresh and prepared with care. The only problem was that our server seemed somewhat distracted and forgot several things about our order. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time (8 pm Saturday).

Most menu items were impeccably plated and the flavours were well matched. Meat was cooked to perfection with everything, which never happens when you like everything rare like I do. Service was great and when my husband and I pointed out a dish that had an off flavour the chef admitted her error and offered dessert. Overall an honest, haute approach to cuisine. We would highly recommend this restaurant we'll be back to sample the latest dishes soon!

The food was very good - the charcuterie was very tasty although I could've gone for a little large portion on it. The tasting portions of 2 entrees (we had the wahoo and the antelope - the sauce included with the antelope was incredible) were plenty for my girlfriend and I (and we saved a little money in the process). We were there for an anniversary and each were provided a free glass of champagne which was very nice...and were told Happy Anniversary by the hostess and the waitress which made it feel special. The ambiance was nice, somewhat low lighting but not too low...only about 1/3 of the tables were full so it was quiet...and the setting was intimate.

After reading the reviews on this restaurant I was expecting a lot more than what I received last night. The servings were small as per high-end restaurants of about 10 years ago, some of the food on the plate was interesting inventive and tasty. The Porkchop was very bland and without any seasoning at all, the cobia was delicious but served over a huge oversized wheat-berry which was unnecessary and did not complement the fish. The cheeses at the beginning were delicious as was the sausage but the ceviche was tiny and boring no spice at all. I've worked with great chefs from Europe so I'm hard to please, but this was not worth the money.

Lovely, delish, and well executed!! The only complaint, & it's minor, was I wish the tasting portions were just a bit more robust. The wine flowed freely & we were well served, but the food which was amazing, just not enough of it! Besides that, the evening was stellar!!! The atmosphere is fantastic and a perfect place for special occasions or a nice evening out. Bar scene was very vibrant. It is on my list of favorites for sure!!!

Don't get me wrong, the food was good. But, the location is odd (in the ground floor of an office building)...and I agree that the food was delicious and the menu had some very interesting items, the portions were adequate (not great)...and we ended up ordering 1 appetizer each, as well as 2 half entrees each...and it was enough (less than that we probably would have still been hungry) and grant it, we did order a bottle of wine (one of the least expensive ones at $64)..and our bill with tip was a hefty $240. In my opinion, way way too pricey for this restaurant. Separately, that was a very special dinner for us for my husbands birthday, for which I specifically made a note of in the reservation. The restaurant ignored it!!! Not nice.

We celebrated our engagement here; made special requests via opentable reservation and everything was executed perfectly. Impeccable ambiance and the food is always artwork on your plate and divine on your tongue. Service this time wasn't quite as good as our other times but truthfully we were so elated it was the last thing on our mind. I would delve further into details on the dishes but since the menu rotates almost daily there isn't a need to. If you are planning to celebrate an occasion and your palate demands perfection, along with fine wine to cleanse it, look no further.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, the dining room is a beautiful space with a much appreciated detail,(reasonable space between tables). The food was excellent, we had the antelope, rabbit croquette and the cobia fish and could not have asked for a better execution. The server was good, he explained the farm to table concept in detail, even though I mentioned we had chosen the restaurant based on that fact hoping he would change the speech, since it wasn't necessary. For a dining room that was not full, it was hard to understand why we had to wait long periods between courses and specifically waiting for a second bottle of wine. Could it be the waiter was too busy serving "dine in the dark" room as well?

Market 17 is a bid odd? The food was truly amazing. Locally grown. Fresh. Incredibly balanced taste? Some of the best in Fort Lauderdale. So why haven't they worked on the details regarding atmosphere. The bar is beautiful, but the dining room lacks personality. The music is not piped in. And with a wine list and knowledgable somaliere like they have, I wonder how many of their diners really appreciate that TV with the sports games beaming into the dining area. I will go back again and again and again because of the healthy, original and socially responsible approach this amazing place takes to food. But I'd love to see them take a more serious approach to the dining room atmosphere which is really a big part of the overall experience.

Delicious, healthy new american style food with interesting and sophisticated flavors. I had the pan seared snapper with sunchokes and savored every last bite. My fiancee is vegan, so it was especially awesome that he also loved his entree (stuffed squash). Nice atmosphere and great service to boot. Prices were a bit steep but understandable given the high quality of the food. We will definitely return.

From the outside we were really skeptical, in an odd location and was very quiet outside on a Saturday night at 8pm. But once we were inside it completely transformed. Everything was on point from our server, Johnny, to the food and drinks. I'm so excited to finally find a place in ft.lauderdale that is doing real local & seasonal products! a great beverage program. The steak tartare was fabulous! And the beef cheeks ravioli- yum. My husband tried the duck confit which I thought the whole dish was amazing. We finished with the lavender and smoked almond ice cream, which both were to die for, but I think they are very flavor specific so if your finicky about your food, it's probably not for you, but we loved them! Can't wait to go back!

By the time that I noticed the table next to us had eaten and left before our food was delivered to us, the manager came out to apologize. The food was excellent, but our server was slow in bringing out our bread and then, of course, our food was delayed. The table next to us came in after we did and received a far better level of service. Perhaps they were locals and we were only tourists! However, we frequently stay at the Ritz Carlton and will be back in FLL in November. They gave us a free dessert which I did not need and apologized again. So, we left feeling like they had tried to correct the situation. The food was very good or we would have been very unhappy! To me dessert cannot replace poor service.

The food was very good. I enjoyed two of the "tasting" portions, but my husband and son decided to have one entree. The cured meats and cheeses were delicious. Try the chocolate chipotle chicken sausage. So yummy. The service was very good, tiny things like clearing the plates a little sooner could be improved. Aside from that our server was courteous, helped us with the menu, and polite. The entire team pitched in, so no one gave the impression of "it's not my table." The value wasn't quite there, which is why everything was dropped one star.

We actually had reservations for dinner but were done with our day early and arrived at 5:30 in time for a popular happy hour where drinks and apps are 1/2 price. Great bar tenders and a nice selection of apps including cheeses and fish collars (look it up). My date had a small plate and they didn't score well with the quinoa and thought she had better ceviche elsewhere, but enjoyed the happy hour experience. The cobia collar tasted as if the fish had just been pulled form the ocean. Will definitely return to catch dinner.
