A word from Market 17
Market 17 is proud to be serving delicious, creative dishes that are literally from the farm right to the tables of our diners. We call this "wine country cuisine" because the emphasis is on fresh, clean food from top purveyors along with an abundant wine list.

For the more adventurous diner, Market 17 offers 'dining in the dark'. It is our chefs table in a private room that allows a new way to experience food. Once your sight is turned off, all the other senses are heightened. It's a fun and unique experience to enjoy our food. (Due to limited seating, reservations for dining in the dark can be requested via open table notes but are not guaranteed. Please call 954.835.5507 to confirm dining in the dark reservation requests.)

Our menu will change daily and we'll always offer amazing tasting menus for you to sample what the chef has created. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about!

Diner Reviews
  • "Wes was superb server. Interesting wine list. Great food."

  • "Market 17 is an inviting place it's attractive and the personnel are attentive and knowledgeable. The food however was uneven. The farm fresh ingredients were "fully flavored" everything seemed a bit heavy and salty, and I like salt. The wine that they helped us select was very good and reasonably priced, the beef tartare was so busy it was difficult to enjoy the beef, very salty sauce topped with salty fried onions,a different twist and not one to remember. The cheddar grits were over salted, the duck was good, but again salty. My filet was very good and flavorful, not too salty. Desert, a chocolate pudding with brownies and salty, his time as an ingredient, caramel ice cream, with soggy pistachios again salted. Not a great experience."

  • "Pleasant happy hour with delicious appetizers followed by an excellent dinner with outstanding service."

  • "I dined at Market 17 with two customers from China. I chose Market 17 because it looked like there was a nice range of choices for different tastes. The evening turned out better than I could have hoped. We chose some starters and then did the tasting size of 5 different entrees to share, so it had a very elegant, almost tapas feel to the night. My colleagues had a great time, and got to sample things they were comfortable with, and some new and interesting dishes, including elk. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often!"

  • "Inovative menu, with great, fresh ingredients. Perfect sized portions. Spectacular wine list, with fair prices."

  • "I love Market 17. I recommend it to everyone I know as one of the best restaurants in Broward. Fresh ingredients, inventive plates, something to please everyone, amazing wine list, great service...the list goes on and on."

  • "The food is marginally okay. Service and everyone is pretentious. Overpriced. Worst of all you ate practically sitting in a parking lot in one of the most beautiful locations in the world! We got the feeling we were looked down upon due to our dress, ( we were here for a class on sailing as we bought a brand new yacht, and therefore didn't bring any dressy attire). The portions were super small, (we had been on the water all day and were famished and wished to reward ourselves at a nice restaurant). This is coming from a man who weighs 200 lbs, is 6 ft tall, and watches his diet and a woman who weighs 95 lbs and is 5' and a marathon runner. So not your average "porkie piggies", used to "Supersizing"!"

  • "Overall good experience, I think the options are limited, couple fish dishes and couple meat. Shrimps were excellent. Service good."

  • "We had an amazing experience with the dining in the dark experience at Market 17. The food was excellent, the waiter was amazing and so knowledgable and it was an experience fit for foodies. A must to try if you love food and wine!"

  • "We were 4 at the table. Two of us will try just about anything , one of us eats no red meat and one of us is picky, picky, picky. Well, everyone found something they liked. The food was delicious , the service outstanding and outside ,the bamboo wall pretty much blocked out the sight and sound of the cars while adding a nice overall touch. they buy from local farmers and growers which is a good way to keep others area businesses sustained but taking that into consideration, I would guess there shipping costs are less so why are there prices high. All in all we would go back."

  • "Great meal 1st night visiting Ft. Lauderdale. A bit hard to fond but is was worth the search. Enjoyed a lovely salad followed by an entree of antelope cooked perfectly. My wife and 2 daughters had equally excellent meals. The bar scene was a bit noisy but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves on a Wednesday evening. We would return."

  • "This is a Romantic Date Night waiting to happen. Low lights, a very upscale New York Vibe meets Miami Sultry. I had a chance to talk with Igor who designed the Venue as I was complimenting its unique appeal. This is a Organic based culinary treat. They even have a seperate room for 'Dining in the Dark' one I am soon to try. We had a wonderful Filet and Pork Tenderloin and we both enjoyed our food. The Wine list is very well appointed, ours a Winner from Oregon of all places. After visiting will over 40 venues in Miami I have to say Market 17 has the most Romantic Ambiance. And so nice, plenty of free parking, a rarity in this area!"

  • "The food was exceptional. The portions were relative small, but after having an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert I was more than safisfied. The waiting staff was very nice and the chef came out to speak with us as my companion had previously met he. The food was creative and very good. In particular the duck was "out of this world". I am a foodie and years ago was a partner in a very small restaurant in New York that became quite famous. I will cetainly return to Market 17. Sir David North"

  • "Market 17 got some very good reviews and that was the reason we dined there. Food and service were good, but I thought it was a bit pricey. The wines were almost triple the retail price. The meals were prepared well and the portions were good size. But everything came at a price. We asked for extra cornbread and were charged $6.00 of a few pieces. We were celebrating a 40th anniversary and I thought it would have been a nice gesture to get a complementary dessert. Didn't happen. It's the little things like that that make my decision to return or not return to a restaurant."

  • "We spent 5 nights in Fort Lauderdale and went here twice as the food was so delicious and innovative. We also really liked the 4-7pm bar deals and being able to order different portion sizes both on wine and main dishes, allowing us to try different dishes. The main dining room was pleasantly quiet and the bar more vibrant."

  • "The food was not only beautifully presented but the overall quality was exceptional. This is a brother/sister match made in heaven. The farm to table concept is present throughout the entire menu. The service was impeccable. The wine list is sensibly priced. Coming from New Orleans and having lived in Ft. Lauderdale for over 20 years, this is a rare find and a neighborhood gem. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to any foodie."

  • "My husband and I have been wanted to try Market 17 for some time now and finally found some time to go. The wait staff saw super knowledgeable about every item on the menu, the background of the restaurant, the farms they obtain their meat from, and the local famers they get all of their vegetables from. We decide to go with the small plate option so we could try several different items. We were not disappointed at all, it was even better then we had hoped for. We will for sure be going back as their menu changes often so we want to see what other great items they are going to have."

  • "We splurged on the tasting menu. Got to try all the dishes we were interested in from the regular menu and then some. Beautifully prepared and presented. Courses were spaced perfectly. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Perfect amount of food. Worth every penny for such a delicious and delightful experience."

  • "Our appetizer (clams) was very good. Our charcuterie was very small and over priced. Very small amounts of meat and one of the cheeses that was described on it was not on it. It was replaced with a hard cheese, maybe a Romano. I had Antelope which I grew up eating game meat. It was tough and lacked flavor. Very disappointing. Not worth the money."

  • "The restaurant was very good overall. I wish I had the cheddar to eat there more often! I want to say that the service was also phenomenal. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided a honest critique of each dish. He was also very timely."

  • "My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time Saturday night. It was a lovely experience. The menu was interesting and we are told it changes all the time. We chose to taste a variety of foods by ordering smaller portions. We ate outside so it was not as noisy as it was inside. Our waiter was attentive but not overly hovering. We will definitely try it again and recommend to others."

  • "The food at Market 17 is not typical and it is what separates this restaurant from others. A lot of thought went into designing the entree dishes and the components. They use grass fed beef, antelope, wahoo and the highest quality of ingredients in all dishes. For some diners this may not be appreciated and may make the combination of flavors different from their normal experience. The food was excellent and service attentive. We enjoyed our dining experience on a busy Saturday night!"

  • "We so loved this place the last time we dined on Christmas Eve that we made a return trip. Everything was as expected--wonderful. We plan on trying their dining in the dark experience. You pick a theme and you are served in a perfectly dark room with no visibility. That's how much we trust them."

  • "How can a place that serves food this good have such a lousy bathroom?!...I have seen gas stations (like Irving) that require employees to clean and sign off on their work every 3 hours to keep their facilities presentable but I swear the urinal had so much crud on top of it that nobody could have touched it in at least a week. Beyond that the décor was just not in keeping with the rest of the place which was very nice and the food (which of course is what we came for - not the bathroom) was GREAT!"

  • "Started off with apps at the bar for happy hour. The lamb risotto and stracciatella and candied beets were amazing. Enjoyed a cheese and charcuterie plate before entrees. The cheeses were delicious. The accompaniments and the antelope sausage didn't shine as well as the cheese but were still good. After awakening the palate with a variety of starters, we ordered the tasting options for entrees. The antelope steak was a bit chewy but the bulgar wheat was delicious. The filet was delicious; the cobia was fresh and savory; the pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection. I feel the meal fell short with dessert. The smores were dry and the smoked ice cream was too strong. The banana bread pudding was a bit dry but delectable."
