Marjorie RestaurantGreat neighborhood restaurantMarjorie is a nice, comfortable, enjoyable neighborhood restaurant. With great cocktails, good wine selection, and thoughtful menus, Marjorie is sure to please from sit down to departure. I feel comfortable at Marjorie, and the open garage doors during warm weather extends its love to the courtyard.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming but hip little restaurantCharming but hip little restaurant off Madison. Interesting cocktail options. Terrific food with a few options I'd never heard of but tried and loved. On a warm night the patio would be a wonderful spot.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDona Moody is a gracious hostessDona Moody imprints her warmth and graciousness to her whole staff. Her restaurant is welcoming, food is lovely and satisfying with inventive touches. Ambience is funky/friendly. Perfect neighborhood restaurant that I wish were in my neighborhood.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI was totally blown away!Hadn't been to Marjorie in about a year. It was fabulous. Our table was just inside the open patio doors so it was like being outside without the threat of a sudden rain shower. I ordered the Scallops. They were plump, juicey, seared perfectly. The Sea Beans that came with it were an amazing mix of cilantro, radish, shallots and green onions sitting on top of an avocado puree. The service was prompt and never intrusive. All the servers had smiles on their faces. Great atmosphere, great people. Will not wait a year before coming back!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMMarjorie: Zest and VibeMy friend and I had a perfect evening at Marjorie. We needed a place to talk, we wanted a tasty dinner, an attentive bar-tender and overall excellent service. Marjorie, a little gem of a restaurant, met our needs and then some!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGoing the Extra MileSeattle True Foodies made a Saturday night excursion for our Table for Six Event. Thecfood received high marks by all. A bit noisy but we could all hear our conversation. Service was excellent, and the staff went an extra mile to make sure our party woul be happy. Dreaming about the cold asparagus soup, clams, and panna cotta. Will definitely return! Fun, fun atmosphere.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous eveningWe booked a table for a large group - 8. Ended up in the "back room" which was also booked with a large group celebrating birthdays. The staff was attentive, but the group was very loud which made it difficult to converse with our own party. Also, it was odd to have our table in the same room with a party of 30+. That said, the food and service was excellent, and I would rather have shared the room than not gotten a reservation at all!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat burger and worth the walkWent there for the first time this weekend. Great experience and a nice find! Had a Manhattan, Burger, and Asparagus appetizer. All were first-rate and delicious.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a treat!Marjorie is among Seattle's best-fresh, innovative and delightful. We'll be back!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter Than BeforeWe followed Marjorie from her Belltown location. We were heartbroken when Belltown closed several years ago, but equally elated when we found her new restauarant on Capital Hill. The evening we went was 75 degrees with a light breeze, which added to the enjoyment of her open air theme. Food was artistic, well prepared with great flavors. We' will go back again and again.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Adult EnvironmentMarjorie is my new favorite restaurant in Seattle. The owner is wonderful, and makes everyone feel at home. I have been back several times, and have never had a "miss". The ambience is intimate and uncrowded, and best of all, not too noisy (as so many other Seattle hip spots are). The small bar feels just right for two, but is only an elbow away from the small dining area, and maintains an open feel. The bartenders are attentive, yet just detached enough to enhance the intimacy of the space, and the cocktails are mighty fine. Marjorie peaks when the weather is nice, allowing for additional outdoor seating in the adjoining courtyard, which Seattlites crave.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy Place; Delicious Food/DrinkMarjorie is flanked by Zoe and Skillet. It has the intimacy that Zoe lost with its move to Capitol Hill and the delicate yet still hearty food that can't be found at Skillet. The waitstaff is intimate without being annoying or cloying and really knows their food. I don't drink alcohol, but my companions usually do and give high praise to the bartender. The Back Room is a great place for gatherings of five or more and can accommodate up to 50 people. Find an excuse to host an event there!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMReal food delights every night!Donna and her crew are bar none the best!! My guests from Singapore and Portland were wooed by our server, the freshest meats, vegetables and scallops. Appetizers that we couldn't stop ordering and the bread pudding. Well all they could say was this is "To die for" Lovin' Marjorie's!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a terrific experienceWe had a terrific experience at Marjorie on Saturday. First time for all four of us since they moved to their new space and we loved it. Great food, great service, wonderful cozy atmosphere, all was perfect. The Mad Hatcher Chicken was fantastic as were the Scallops. Service was exceptional which is a lost art in many of the "hip" places that are in Seattle. Also really appreciate the ease and availability of making a reservation with Open Table, life is always better when you can get a reservation. The patio is looks like it will be a top favorite if summer ever gets here!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time!!!!The food and service were excellent. It was my wife's birthday and it was a great evening for her...the only negative I would have is I thought the cocktails and wine were very expensive. We will definitely return...4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Good!I always enjoy this spot. The owner and her team make you comfortable, suggest new items to try and helpful with the perfect wine. I find ever time I go there is always something new. I would recommend to anyone that wants a great meal, good service and a relaxed comfortable setting.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for a casual eveningSmall and charming, with interesting food which ranges from Caribbean to Indian with a southern accent. Minor complaints are: noisy, crowded, and mediocre wine list. Overall though, the experience works, and it becomes an interesting and memorable evening out.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOur party of six enjoyed fabulousOur party of six enjoyed fabulous food and service, including attention from the owner herself. Based on other reviews we made a reservation and requested a table in the front room. The front staff had to scramble to make that happen, but they were very gracious about it and we had a lovely time.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit to Marjorie andFirst visit to Marjorie and will definitely return! Cute, romantic and cozy, we sat at the bar and watched the activity in the kitchen and enjoyed the ambiance. The plantains with scallop ceviche were very tasty, and the clams with house made chorizo were so amazing, we didn't want them to end -- even sopped up as much of the tasty juice as possible with a lovely fresh baguette. They also stock a number of local distillery offerings -- the drinks we ordered were excellent.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites for a groupWe always love our experience at Marjorie. If you have a big group I recommend the chef selection family style meal. Plenty of food and you get to try a lot of wonderful dishes. Their chicken tikka masala starter is still the best curry we've had in Seattle!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our dining experienceWe enjoyed our dining experience immensely. The roll up doors were open to the small patio, eclectic intimate space with terrific color, very European feel. Service was great. While the food was very good, I think it would be more the ambience that would draw me back again. The wine list was a bit pricey. Loved the plaintain chips to start and the cheese plate was good. Liked all the shared plates we tried except the beet salad which was mediocre. Entrees were very good but not gotta-go-back-for-this good. Still, we will definitely be back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMarjorie = A+Tess was our server and she was so nice and made great recommendations. We loved Donna's Margarita, the incredible bread pudding and everything else about our experience was wonderful. We will definitely return for special occasions.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AM
