The was our second time having dinner there so we were familiar with the menu. Just as we remembered, the food, service, the romantic setting was delighful. Our waiter/sommelier was helpful and knowledgeable about the entrees and wine list. The duck won tons and were unique and wonderful appetizers. The fresh baked bread was warm and the seasoned butter was a nice touch. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the fresh Hawaiian fish special was delicious!. The food presentation was impressive including the chocolate dessert trio with a special handwritten message on chocolate from the chef. Even the pastry chef provided a complimentary pair of gold dusted chocolate treats.The special touches were very much appreciated. I made reservations at the Maritana Grille because 1) It's the nice restaurant at the hotel, and 2) I thought it was the restaurant we'd eaten at after getting engaged before. Well, Turns out that it wasn't the same restaurant (we'd dined at the other restaurant located elsewhere at the resort), but I was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. In the reservation I had specifically mentioned it was our anniversary so everyone made sure to wish us a happy one as they came by. We were only in town for 2 nights but decided to return for dinner the following night. The other employees of the restaurant were equally kind and welcoming to us. In terms of food, we left with a satisfied appetite and plates that were bare of any food remains because the food was that SUPERB! We ordered the duck wontons, red snapper, and iron griddles shrimp which all were tasty. For dessert, we had a trio of sorbet and the flavors were supremely refreshing and a perfect ending to a memorable dining experience at Maritana. This definitely was a pleasurable dining experience!

Expect to be impressed with the skill level of the chefs and their creations. On the night we dined, we had the Sea Scallops appetizer, while I ordered the filet mignon and my girlfriend had the lobster ravioli. My filet was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Unfortunately, I had to give half of my steak away to my gf because her meal was inedible. The lobster had a very bad smell to it and a flavor to match. We also found a piece of a shell in her food. The waiter made it up to us and took it off our bill with no question and offered to give us something else.
Our waiter was very attentive and very kind about the situation. Overall a pleasant experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service and the food wasThe service and the food was outstanding. It was by far the nicest meal we've had since moving back to Florida. We had the Lamb and the Venison, and they were cooked perfect. The Duo of Scallops were amazing, the hard part was picking which version I liked better. The only compliant is their lack of wine selection when you buy by the glass. We happened to see Maritana Grille and decided to try it on Monday evening. It was fantastic! We liked It so much that we went back with two business associates on Friday night and it was even better! Everything we had was excellent from the chef's favor at the start of the meal, outstanding bread, delicious seafood appetizers, the intermezzo, the entrees and last but not least the desserts.
