I had the pleasure of being greeted by Mario and his two sons, who were just outside the restaurant as I entered. My entree was delicious and the server graciously substituted mashed potatoes for pasta upon my request. Anthony Daniele came to table to check whether the meal was to my liking. What a pleasant surprise that a restaurant lived up to and actually surpassed our expectations. From the impressive decor, to the friendly and professional staff, to the ridiculous variety of foods on the Sunday buffet, my only wish was that I could have tried everything, because everything I tried was delicious! This was the very first buffet I've tried where I left nothing on my plate! We took our daughter and her husband to celebrate her birthday and I ended up with the best present of all...the discovery of my new favorite place to eat! That says a lot because I like to know that if I invite friends that have not been there before that they are going to enjoy their meal as much as i have. We are always greeted by very friendly people, and no matter when we go we never have waited very long to be seated. I will continue to go many more times and it's really nice to have a go to restaurant that I know will be enjoyed by all.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere is great forThe atmosphere is great for a night out with friends or family. The food is excellent but a little on the pricey side. I would definitely recommend their prime rib. The service was good but I would have expected a little more attention to when drinks needed to be refilled. I also was surprised that the restaurant did not offer a free desert for a birthday occasion. The waitress did wish the guest a happy birthday but for the price I would have expected something since many restaurants offer something.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our FavoritesWe always look forward to dining at Mario's as we know the level of quality to expect of both food and service. They good to great lengths to make the customer feel at "home", and the menu is varied enough to provide something for everyone. The prices are what you would expect for an upscale full service facility specializing in high quality food and service. The brunch was excellent, as usual. The salmon was superb and the desserts added a few unwanted pounds. The lamb continues to be the best that I've had since Mom made it a few decades ago. The staff was courteous and our servers were friendly and attentive. Although we had to wait longer for a table than I would expect having made a reservation well in advance, I could see why Mario's is so popular after we were seated. Our waiter Jeff was attentive, the compact but well chosen wine list has a lot of options in various prices, and the food was excellent. Be forewarned - the portions are ample, and steaks come with a potato nest - you don't need to order a baked potato. The highlight for two of us was the crab and lobster bisque - proclaimed the best they had ever had! I had my elderly mother who walks with a cane. I got a booth table which seemed like one of the furthest away from the buffet and we had steps just to get there. If we wanted another table it was going to be about a 20-25 min. wait. My mom managed okay though. She enjoyed the food very much. I enjoyed it also. The hassle free no waiting on the phone experience was a great start to a wonderful evening. We would like to thank Hanna for the excellent service she provided us while dining at Mario's. We had reservations for 7:00pm and was seated right on time. We decided to have the Bruschetta for an appetizer and was very pleased. We also shared a bowl of there lobster bisque and I must say its the best I have ever had. We have been all around the country and this takes the cake. My girlfriend had the chicken French and was delicious. I had the strip steak which was cooked medium rare but was not cooked to my choice of temperature giving it 4 of 5 stars . My husband, children, and I have been to Mario's before, but it was a first visit for mom and dad. They raved about the experience and want to come again when they are next in town. The food was amazing -- but then again it always is! There were a number of Irish-inspired options. Service was fantastic. I only wish we could have heard the Irish band in the main dining room. They were terrific. You can request a booth table and have a great dinner and actually hear your dining partner. It may be something you do not think about often but if you have a business client or are on a date it can be very annoying to dine elsewhere where you can not be heard. The service is always great, the steaks are fantastic and the meatballs taste just like my mother used to make. You see Mario there from time to time and he is as friendly and warm as he seems on TV.
