Maria PiaGreat FindWe had Father's Day dinner at Maria Pia. The restaurant is a great local neighborhood spot. Their menu is varied, the lighting is near perfect and the ambience is what you would look for.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden ScoreMaria Pia is a small unobtrusive place located mid block on 50th between 8th and 9th. We had never been here before and took a chance of recommendations on Urban Spoon & Yelp.
The place is clean, neat, and roomy, the service was very attentive. We ordered a house salads, excellent, and we both ordered fish. My wife had the Salmon. They substituted asparagus at our request as they had run out of the spinach, The asparagus was very good. The fish, was excellent. I had the potato crusted branzino with the asparagus. The fish was really delicious with a light lemon sauce. Outstanding.
We'll definitely come back, even without a theater reservation. Forget the big name guys in the area, this place is a winner!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMChose this restaurant becauseChose this restaurant because of location convenience. Decent wine list, not too pricey, excellent appetizer and fresh pasta selections (black linguine, yum), good service, quiet enough to talk business. Recommended by my colleague who lives locally and takes her parents here when they visit from out of town. Worth the trip to the neighborhood.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely Dining ExperienceA beautiful little dining spot. Great service, good food, clean atmosphere.
