"Excellent, well prepared food with great service. We have been to many of the finest fish restaurants in NY and in Italy - this ranks right up there. The branzino in salt was really perfect. Good wine list and first rate service. Definitely recommend for a fine dining experienc"

"Unfortunately for the investors of this restaurant I will never go back or recommend it. The seafood paella didnt have azafran. A MUST ! Was lacking flavor, hardly any seafood. The staff is not trained to provide excellent service, didn't offer fresh pepper, didn't know type specific seafood was in the Paella. The manager was giving wrong info ab origin of the fresh fish. I think they should invest more in train their staff than a huge billboard on Biscayne Blvd. Also put camaras on the outside sitting can see
To top it off, I left my Iphone on top of the table, it was gone in seconds, I called back to speak to the manager but to no avail. This the eve Easter
Sunday we were the only ones sitting outside,No courtesy call fr duty mg"

"Went for anniversary dinner. Ordered white wine and Ariel our waiter brought us a red. He finally found the bottle we asked for and it was warm. We ordered a side of broccoli and the waiter and even the chef didn't realize that the "advertised" sautéed broccoli should not come to the table just as steamed broccoli. Overall, our waiter was not attentive at all and didn't rally know what good service should be especially is what is supposed to be a high end restaurant. ( and the tip was automatically included!!) i would have tipped less. I was not pleased at all and wish I had picked a better place for our anniversary."

"We live in downtown Miami and took Metromover to the restaurant. It is most convenient by rail. The food was excellent, but honestly our tastes range towards the less "upscale" and we could not understand what half of the things on the menu were (we're middle aged and have dined all over the world and money is not an object for us). The menu did not make it clear where the appetizers ended and the entrees began and the attitude of the waitstaff was one of "friendly disdain". We felt like we were in some sort of competition with our waiter to see who could be the bigger food snob. As a place to be seen this is top notch, as a place for an excellent seafood dinner, the negatives outweigh the great food and we will not repeat."

"This is the second time I go to this restaurant. The restaurant decor is hip and nice, but th eservice needs some djustment. They take too much time even to take your order. This time I invited clients to dinner and they were not impressed either. Please note that th efirst time I went to Mare Nostrum (MN), the food was good, but lunch took about three hours as they lack a good service staff. The fodd this time was so so. We ordered blue point oysters, and these were super tiny and not good. They take pride on having the best and freshest seafood in town, but oysters are way much better at the River Oyster Bar also in the Brickell Area. I would not return to this restaurant (unless they improve service)."

"Although the ambiance was beautiful, and our server, Juan, was very friendly and attentive, our overall restaurant experience is not what we expected for a high end Brickell area restaurant. Neither my salad nor my main course came out of the kitchen as ordered. (A request for no carrots on the salad and no potatoes on the entre were ignored. A requested dressing on the side did not appear until asked for again.) The vegetables were so overcooked that they were soggy and uneatable. The restaurant was nowhere near full, yet when our ice cream trio came out, there were no clean spoons available, we were brought serving spoons which were way to large for the small dishes of ice cream. We used our expresso spoons instead. We won't be back."
