Diner Reviews
  • "Warm and inviting Italian and a Chihuly hanging as well -- balcony tables in the rear have a great view."

  • "i don't know how i missed this restaurant all my years in manhattan - the atmosphere is intimate yet upscale, the service is executed with a flourish of graciousness and accents, and the food is tasty (although not wow). but for the pricey menu, I'd definitely be back."

  • "Quiet place with relaxed atmosphere and very nice staff. Very good food and wine."

  • "In this drab neighborhood Marcony quietly sits waiting to capture your heart, your tastebuds and your wallet. The food is always imaginative and well prepared. The specials entice (so ask for the price) as the waiter/tress rattles them off in highly-accented English. The room is attractive and comfortable and has a little buzz--not too much--you can converse easily. Everyone tries hard to please and they always succeed. This visit we kept it simple--lemon chicken and veal chop. Excellent."

  • "Hands down the best Italian restaurant in New York City, and the best kept secret. Their menu is small, but don't worry because nightly they usually have over 8-10 appetizer special, 8-10 pasta specials, 5 fish specials and 5 meat specials. Every time I go there it's like I'm eating at a brand new restaurant because the selection is so vast and the food is spectacular."

  • "The location was determined by necessity and the restaurant fut the bill. We were early diners and request for table location graciously accommodated. Server was able to recite length special menu with charm and agility. She also knew how to pace our meal. Two people were kosher but able to find satisfying choices. Requests to share were meet and served appropriately. None of us had been to Marciny before but we had a lovely evening and were happy with the experience."

  • "We eat out almost every night and have actually started eating here once a week. This is the perfect venue to undwind after a long work day. The service is so attentive but unintrusive. The cuisine is outstanding;whether you opt for seafood, pasta or their choice of meat. My husband thinks the chef's vealchop rivals the best restaurants and he is a reqal foodie. I love the branzino and caprese salad. They are also so accomodating and will ajust the dish to your preferences. I love their vegetables as well. I recommend Marcony without reservation."

  • "Beautiful glass blown creation in the middle of the restaurant. Kept water glass full the entire time. Asked about more wine when wine glass got low (we paid by bottle). Lots of pasta dishes. Delicious."

  • "When we saw that we would be a little late for our booking, I called to inform the restaurant. I was told that it wasn't a problem. When we arrived they made us wait 20 minutes for our table. There are too many good Italian restaurants in NYC to bother with this one. The red sauce looked and tasted like it came out of a can."

  • "Pleasant ambience, enjoyable Italian cuisine, service does not hover but is there before you request them"

  • "Ambiance is good. Food is not totally as I expected. I'm from Mediterannean coast so I know how it should taste like. Service is very good. I enjoyed the experience."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times. We usually bring guests who are looking for a new restaurant while visiting NYC. We had a really great meal. However, I was shocked when I ordered a Kire Royale (Champagne mixed with bitters and chambourg...$22.00 for a glass.)."

  • "Incredible food with a twist! A flair on traditional Italian makes it a very special place. Easily rivals the top Italian restaurants in NYC at a more reasonable price. Was good when it opened but is now outstanding. Must be a new chef."

  • "i don't review often, but i found this place so well run that i had to comment. our waitress was one of my all time favorites. she was on point throughout the meal and extremely warm in a genuine way. the food was quite good. not superb, but very, very tasty as were the wine and cocktails. the requests we made to address my father's hearing problem were all responded to right away. i strongly recommend this restaurant. only thing they should change is that they should write the specials down--too many to remember."

  • "We adore this restaurant. The food is always excellent - and the service is impeccable. You can tell from the moment you arrive that they truly value hospitality. We have come here many times and every morsel is consistently delicious, perfectly prepared, and clearly made with love and care. Our ONLY concern this time around is that they revised their menu and removed all the descriptions of the food! And everything is in Italian, so we had to ask our poor server to explain the entire menu. What happened? The old menu used to have descriptions. Please find a happy medium, so that the guests are not in the dark. Otherwise, it was perfect as always."

  • "We ate here before going to a movie in the same neighborhood, it was a very chilly evening and we wanted to dine close to the movie theater and additionally, it was on new year's eve. On a busy evening, the service and food was good and a pleasant surprise since you never know what you get on new year's eve."

  • "Pasta dishes that knock your socks off. Tonight it was ravioli filled with ricotta and apple in a cream sauce with a touch of sage. Old stand by veal shank with that wonderful saffron risotto. Really spectacular food in a cozy environment."

  • "Very good food but service was hurried and after main coursr served it was non-existant. Over priced wine list almost nothing decent under $100.00. This means dinner here is easily over 250.00 for two. Definitely NOT WORTH IT. Will not return .....nor recommend."

  • "Braved the snowstorm and went to Marcony to celebrate my brother's birthday. Everything was wonderful from beginning to end. Many specials to choose from and everything was just wonderful. Great service and great desserts. Owner was very caring and sincere."

  • "As always, great food and a warm atmosphere. The appetizer I chose (I've had it before) was the burrata with greens, cherry tomatoes and Speck. What a fabulous combination--the greens had a lemony vinaigrette dressing and the cherry tomatoes (how do they do it??) were jumping with flavor. The 4 components of the dish worked perfectly together. The spaghetti Fra Diavalo was a very large serving with generous portion of lobster, and some not very special clams and mussels, and while the dish was good after that home run with the burrata I was a little disappointed--- Oh this place is spoiling me on so many levels--I'm not fit company anymore when things are merely very good."

  • "We took our family for a Sunday brunch to celebrate my son's birthday. We were disappointed in the lack of atmosphere in the space. The food was good. My husband and I had the salmon eggs benedict with pesto and the our kids had the sandwiches. It might suit an older crowd."

  • "One of the best Italian restaurants in the city and definitely the best in Murray Hill; the specials list gets longer every day and is always out-of-this-world. Still the best branzino in NYC. Compliments to the entire staff."
