Marche BacchusGreat time was had by all.....I saw this restaurant featured on a television show and it looked so inviting I had to go. On my next business trip to Las Vegas we went to this restaurant and had a great time. The menu was was varied and appealing. Attached to the restaurant is their wine store. You could go and pick out a wine and have it served at your table. Very good selection of wine at all price points. The food was wonderful, the patio was comfy and intimate, great views of lake and a nice quiet but fun atmosphere to enjoy your meal by. The food was exquisite, the ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff and owners friendly and helpful. The salmon salad was delicious; the wild salmon was perfectly pan-seared and the aioli dressing was done with a very light touch. The individual quiche lorraine was also quite nice, with a little salad on the side. The only slight negative was that the service was very slow. The dining room became very busy and there was only one server. Marche Bacchus did not blow my mind or palate with any of their dishes but I cannot find one fault in the food or service; which is very rare. Every single plate that was ordered was cleaned. The service was perfection. The atmosphere on the patio lovely, and obviously with the wine store, the wine selection is great. I did go on a Sunday at 5:30pm which I mention because I think the service at most restaurants is better during off-peak hours. Still a great bargin, but they charge an extra $10 from the retail for the waiter to open at your table. This is insane. The food was delectable, "foi gras appetizer" and "french onion soup" were well prepared! Our entrees of black truffle risotto with perfectly prepared scallops and moules mariniere were very tasty. The Spanish bottle of tempranillo wine we chose went well with all dishes. The service was attentive yet discreet and our 6 year old granddaughter enjoyed her chicken tenders selection from the children's menu. It was very delicious and they have a wine shop before you enter the dining area. You can buy the wine before you eat or buy it at the table of course for a reasonable price. The only gripe I have is that the service was slow. We got our appetizers about 45 mins since we sat down and our entrees about 2 hours. I would have wreaked havoc if I didnt have my wine beforehand and the company of my husband. It also helped that we didnt have plans afterwards. The food was very good and therefore I would go back. The waiter was nice and attentive. The staff overall was nice. However, I think they have a new chef, and I was really disappointed. I ordered the cheese/fromage platter. The menu said there would be five selections and there were only four. The cheese was still chilled, but most important, all the selection were very similar. They were all firm, dense cheeses and although they were each different cheese they were so similar as to offer no real variety, no contrast in textures, smell or mouth feel. I mentioned the short count on the number. He apologized and said his kitchen handmade a mistake, but that was it. By then, I just wanted to leave. Very disappointing. Didn't even have baguettes.
