Marcella'sHappening place-great gluten freeGreat food! If you are gluten free they flat handle it and their GF bread, pizza and pasta taste great!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timerEnjoyed with a group of 6 associates. The service was terrific, food was very good and creative. Can't wait to come back.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Very simple.... from seating to the check.....Fantastic! Gnocchi was freshly homemade, Shrimp Risotto was incredible, meatball appetizer is a favorite. Highly recommended!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! We had such a nice meal and night out, after a long stressful week! Can't wait to come back!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good!Great place for a couple or a group to eat. The food and service are always good and the ambiance is fantastic! Make reservations or be prepared to wait :)6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest PizzaWe don't give this compliment lightly. Only one other place we think has excellent pizza and that is in Brooklyn NY.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Cameron Mitchel RestaurantMy 17 year old picked Marcella's downtown for his birthday dinner spot - while it's not trying to attract kids, it works for families with older children. The food is fantastic (but I expect that from Cameron Mitchell) and the restaurant is always fun. The kids and I love it, my husband thinks it's too loud, but likes the food too much to not go. We all enjoys getting a variety of apetizers, small plates, and meals and sampling al of it. Service is OK - the kids seem to put some of the wait staff a bit off their game - butit doesn't detract from the overall experience. And again - the food is fantastic. Great seasonal choices, the standards are wonderful, and the price for value is spot on.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDecent option for "Italian"Food was good, not great; with the exception of the veal meatball, everything was extremely salty ( I had a caprese salad and the salmon). My wife's pizza was quite good. Prices are pretty reasonable for an upscale restaurant.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLoud.Tough to have a conversation loud. But the food was good, service was excellent, parking stinks- prepare for paying a valet or going for a little hike. Pecorino appetizer was great, gnocchi was good- bit on the large side for my taste but flavorful. I'd go back. :)5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFun!Excellent Happy Hour! It was a great deal and the food was amazing!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst TimerCame for my 66th birthday. Ambiance was wonderful. Food was DE-LICH!! Delicious can't describe the veal meatball, nor the little triangle toast with cheese, extra-thin apple slices and honey drizzle. I will definitely be back and of course RAVE to others.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful flavorsThis was our first trip to Marcella's. We visited with friends from Charleston, SC who used to live in Ohio and who had eaten at Marcella's before. I fell in love with the potato pizza. As much as I love potatoes of any kind, I never once considered them on pizza. I shared the one I ordered the other evening, but don't know that I will the next time I visit Marcella's. My main meal was the clams and linguini in a garlic sauce. My husband enjoyed his lasagna. By ordering several items, we did experience sampling the other entrees. The honey apple cheese toast was a nice surprise. We loved it all. I thought I was going to have some leftovers to enjoy at home. That didn't happen. We will return.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great find!Loved Marcella's! The service and food were great and the food came out so quickly it surprised us. My only comment is don't come here expecting a lot of fish options, there was one salmon dish and one dish with clams and that's all we saw. Would have liked something with scallops or lobster or some other fish.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGuaranteed GreatnessWent with my fiance for dinner, we both have been several times and have taken out of town guest there on several occasions. We know that every time we go there we are going to get great service and really good food. A meatball in one of the courses is a must every time.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebration Dinner at Marcella's ..... PERFECT! We started off with just a simple bruschetta appetizer which was amazing and probably THE best I have ever had. Then we all had our dinner which was brought to us in no time and very pleasing to the taste buds. We will definitely be going back.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Good!Marcella's is one of those restaurants that is always good. Try the meatball appetizer or the shrimp pesto pizza with a glass of sangria!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter wine optionsFood is very good. Better wine options would be appreciated. No real quality wines.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMbuono mangiaI'd give Marcella's a 8/10. I was very pleased with the appetizers, the veal meatballs and the melon with prosciutto was fabulous. The only thing that was stopping Marcella's from receiving at least a 9 was my main course. I choose the chicken parmigiano. Being Italian and growing up with that dish I expected the best I've ever had and unfortunately it wasn't even close. The pasta and Alfredo was great but the chicken ruined it for me. Others that ordered it praised it however so it could just be because I've had true Italian chicken parmigiano and had to high of expectations for the dish. Everything else was great though. I would go back again.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA Restaurant with an Old SoulThis is apparently a relatively new restaurant (5 years?) with the ambience and menu of many of the authentically old places that I
remember from Little Italy in Cleveland. The hors d'oeuvres were really good; especially the potato pizza. The coffee and coffee
specialty drinks were wonderful. The entrees were amazing. Their marinara sauce is not to be believed as well as the meatballs.
The tiramisu was decadent. I have never had tiramisu that was so perfectly balanced. You can't go wrong here.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food but NOISYMarcella's never disappoints from a food perspective. Truly Italian dishes like caponata are a fun find and the small plates are perfect to share, especially the prosciutto and melon and the cheeses. They also offer an authentic Ceasar salad with white anchovies - it's one of the best in town.
The only drawback here is the noise level gets to the point where you are shouting at each other to be heard. The Short North is popular and a noiser experience is expected on a Saturday night, but you almost wish there was a less authentic warehouse feel to the space and better efforts to manage the noise. If you manage to nab a seat at the front near the open windows, the noise is probably not as much of a factor.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great exceptEverything was great except it was too loud to enjoy conversation.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery fun place to eat on aVery fun place to eat on a Friday night. Good food & service.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great service!Great food and great service! We will definitely be coming back!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodThis has great food and very friendly service. However, it is noisy.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMUltimate favoriteMarcella's is my ultimate favorite restaurant. It has a great atmosphere, yummy drinks, great gluten free selection, and good service. I always suggest Marcella's first, especially when we are trying to decide where to go for happy hour :).5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there during the busyWe were there during the busy Mother's Day lunch hours -Service was excellent and the food was delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMarcella'sFun, popular. A tad cramped. Good food. We,d definitely go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad they opened early onGlad they opened early on Mother's Day and we were able to get in for lunch. Everyone loved their meal. The food here is always consistently good. My wife loves the sweet sausage and comes for that dish alone. Melted pecorino cheese appetizer was a big hit as well.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Experiance..Food was good and it being Mother day, it was crowed. We use the car parking service provided by the Marcella and was glad we did because of the limited parking in the North location. Graned it was $6 for parking but well worth it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Marcella'sMarcella's is my favorite restauant in Columbus - the food is always exceptional. We try to sit in the front of the restaurant or visit during the slower times because the restaurant fills up fast and can be somewhat noisy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful time! TheWe had a wonderful time! The meal was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodI live out of town but each time I visit the Columbus area I try to make sure to stop by Marcella's. The people are nice, the food is spectacular, the dining room is nicely updated, and the Short North area is so quaint. We arrived slightly a few minutes before they opened and went next door to the pet store. Lovely! Marcellas opened promptly at 4:00 and the dining area quickly started to fill up. It was evident that it's a popular neighborhood place to go. Wait staff is friendly and professional. You won't be sorry if you make Marcellas part of your visit to the Columbus area. We always leave making plans to return soon.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING!!!The service was great...the food was amazing...half price apps in the bar5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to dine with friendsWe were in town with a group of friends that get together a few times of year for a cycling event (TOSRV). We usually look for a good pasta place w/ a nice wine list. Marcella's hit it out of the park. The appetizers were excellent and the service was exceptional. Meal portions were generous, the selection was diverse and the food was flavorful. The noise level was a little higher than we'd like but we were able to converse without too much yelling. The only real complaint to speak of is the amount of space afforded to us at the bar and at our table. Things seemed a little crowded as we found ourselves bumping into more people than we'd like. I backed my chair into the diners behind us several times.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat italian in hip areatook my daughter pre concert. we were running late and the restaurant was very accommodating to our tardiness. We were seated right away; quick service. Good pasta -- I had the spicy arabiata, and they added spinach -- hit the spot. My daughter had plain penne, and it came w/a side of fruit ( nice touch ! ) a bit too buttery but fit our needs.
Valet parking was easy and allowed us to keep our car parked for the concert, which was a short walk to Nationwide Arena. When next in town, I would definately head back to Marcella's!!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNever fails to impressThe wife and I love Marcella's, the food, service and environment are always fantastic!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! This place always amazes me! They have numerous options and that makes dining out so enjoyable .5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMfood was excellent and thefood was excellent and the service was also great. My granddaughter had spagehtii with a meetball as big as her head!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodFood was excellent. Gluten-free bread was awesome! Great salads!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceDining at Marcella's was a great experience! We scored a table by the open wall facing the street, and loved the scenes. The server was knowledgeable of the food and drinks, and very friendly. I had the Margherita pizza and my husband ordered the Chicken Marsala along with the Mozzarella Risotto appetizer. The pizza was great and very fresh tasting with the fresh mozzarella along with the tomotoes and basil. His was a more hearty meal that was accompanied with mashed potatoes. Good restaurant, good location, and good fun!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodIf I want to make sure to go home full, I will always choose a Cameron Mitchell Concept!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMawesomeI drove 8 hours from NJ to try this place and it was the best italian food I've had in years. Our server was soo awesome and whole experince was great from start to finish.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe noise level was reallyThe noise level was really high, but I guess that is expected on a Friday evening at 7:30.
I left my credit card on the table and thanks to
Open Table having my cell phone, they called
me about three minutes after I left to let me know. Thank you!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! One of my favoriteDelicious! One of my favorite restaurants! Somewhat disappointed happy hour is only in bar area, but understandable. Will definitely be back! :)4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun, lively atmosphere,A fun, lively atmosphere, Marchella's was a perfect environment for our special occasion. Their shrimp risotto special bursted with flavor our wine selection was a nice compliment to our other choices of small plates. Our waiter, Steven, was fun and engaging. He made our dining experience even more enjoyable.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the gluten free breadI love the gluten free bread at the beginning of the meal. It's the only restaurant I know that serves warm gluten free bread!! The gluten free list is rather extensive and much appreciated!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDidn't care for the bruschettaDidn't care for the bruschetta , too much bread...meatball was very good as was veggie pizza, felt like martinis were a little short on the alcohol because it was happy hour, but other wise, we had a great time!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food especially forGreat food especially for the price. Makes it a perfect date dinner.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMy group and I really enjoyedMy group and I really enjoyed eating at the restaurant the food was great and delicious and there was a great feel from the people around us and the people working there.
