The cooking at Marben is Modern Canadian, with a strong focus on seasonality and vibrant Mediterranean flavours. 
Chef Rob Bragagnolo utilizes his Italian and Spanish background to create innovative dishes that highlight the bounty of Ontario and Canada. We pride ourselves in using only the highest quality ingredients to craft all of our breads, charcuterie, pasta, sauces, and a la carte dishes, in house.

From the burger with ribs inside, to the scallops and risotto and the delicious Nutella creme brûlée. It's just so delicious! The charcuterie plate is incredible, and the decor just makes you feel so welcome but modern. Highly recommended!"

  • "Took advantage of good weather & dined on the nicely appointed patio for 6pm (biz dinner I arranged). Our pleasant server was attentive as one could be, altho the patio (and her attentions) were full by 6:30pm. Stellar foie gras (app) - superb combo with the cocoa. Octopus main had great flavour but would benefit being grilled a tad less-side of salad greens must be rethought. Note - as it gets busy, other diners give you unfavourable looks if you are not deemed a 'regular'. Be warned-the influx of young children increases exponentially at the approach of 6:30pm. Irked at the fact yet another restaurant NOT splitting bills. Definitely will return for the superb food, but not as a venue for biz clients (clients commented on billing policy)."

  • "We were greeted, seated and served promptly. Server was nice. The cocktails and appetizers were quite good (although it would've been nice if both the apps had showed up at the same time). We were however, severely underwhelmed by the mains. The porchetta was tasty, but too much of the same flavor. The octopus salad w/ chorizo and roasted red peppers didn't appear to have any chorizo, but maybe they ran out and substituted with more roasted red peppers because there were definitely too many of those. Overall, we'd give it another shot based on the good components, but we'd be hesitant to recommend this place and we're not in a rush to return. "

  • "This place used to be awesome. I would dream about their gnocchi and John's burger. I'm not sure what happened but this restaurant has experienced a STEEP decline. The burger is still good but the pasta was rubbery, the food presentation was lacking. The served some ceviche cones in some uncooked beans, ugly and not edible, why?! Where the service used to be excellent - warm and attentive - the service is now SO slow & cold. It took us 2 and a half hour to receive 4 plates (for 2 people) and there was absolutely no communication for at least an hour despite us trying to get our server's attention. They did comp us some free drinks for the wait but it's definitely not enough to make us go back. "

  • "This is my second time at Marben and I can't say enough hood things about it. The beef and burger as delicious as is the charcuterie. The service is generally attentive without being pushy. They have a lovely unique wine and cocktail menu. My partner and I had two of the best VQA wines we can remember. They spent time on that wine list. The ambiance of this place is what ties everything together. The decor combined with the rustic charm of the converted space sets this place apart. It almost reminds me inside of a mini Drake Hotel without being overdone. A great dining experience I recommend to anyone."

  • "Marben is a hiden gem and not very noticeable from the street although I was told they are updating the patio and building front. +nce inside the restraunt we where pleasently surprized to the decor and layout of this place and particularily the 4 seats located at the open kitchen window for viewing the cooks preparing the food. The wines list is extensive but a bit pricey although good choices. The menu choices are plenty to find something for all tastes and the service was excellent.You can't go wrong with this place and it is walking distance from The Thompson Hotel which is where we stayed which is also a good location and nice neighborhood in development. Try Marben you will love it ! PS: The music is great 70Ks and 80's and gr8 !"

  • "Went here for dinner with a few girlfriends on a Friday night. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and was full of diners. The wine and service were good. The charcuterie board we ordered as an appetizer was quite nice. Two of the four of us were really pleased with our mains. I ordered the risotto and was unexpectedly disappointed. The flavours did not mesh well. Overall I would give the experience a 3/5."

  • "Group of four for a Bday. 14$ for a bar-rail (double) .... sure. Sea&Earth appetizer tasted like it was VINEGAR mash, couldn't eat more than a quarter of it. BURGER heard great things, glorified slider to be honest. Soak anything in that much butter and people seem to love it. Meat&Jam platter, was delicious. Was a special option for the night - very well balanced and varied flavours. Scallop&Risotto, full plate of smokey risotto but only 5 scallops, confused portions. Limited menu, really nice atomsphere and waitress was great&friendly. Still had a happy party, even a birthday plate surprise (Thank You!)"

  • "If you have the chance, please sit at ghe chef's table. It's a bar with 4 seats that open into the kitchen which allows you to see "behind the scene" and talk to the chef while he's preparing meals for other customers. Plus he'll throw in a few freebies for you to try! And also, I had a baby and the stroller fits perfectly next to me. I have to add that my baby was very impressed with all the action in the kitchen. At some point, flames were coming up for a flambé and she shrieked of excitement!"
