A word from Marben
The cooking at Marben is Modern Canadian, with a strong focus on seasonality and vibrant Mediterranean flavours.
Chef Rob Bragagnolo utilizes his Italian and Spanish background to create innovative dishes that highlight the bounty of Ontario and Canada. We pride ourselves in using only the highest quality ingredients to craft all of our breads, charcuterie, pasta, sauces, and a la carte dishes, in house.

soul-warming comfort and nostalgia with surprise, intrigue and wonder, you’ve hit something very special.” - Chef Rob Bragagnolo

We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband. Casey was very attentive but not intrusive and was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and portion sizes. Great sense of humour. The Nutella Creme Brule was over the top!

It's in a quiet spot, but the ambiance inside is very nice. The food was amazing - we had the burgers and nutella creme brulee. The burger was one of the best I've had. Cons - small portion sizes, although burger was great, it was on the smaller side, definitely on the expensive side.

My wife and I really enjoyed this quaint, out of the way spot on Saturday night celebrating her birthday. For the downtown it seemed like a nice quiet neighborhood. Small specialized menu (which we like). We enjoyed everything, especially the Charcuterie Board and their specialty burger. The whole meal was great and the service from everyone was fabulous. We plan to return with friends. Thanks!!

Delicious menu offerings, tried multiple dishes between friends and all were excellent including Risotto, short rib with mole sauce and baked bread. Great patio off main street for more quaint outdoor dining. Really great service, funny and friendly that is what will get me to return most.

Ambiance is nice but not exceptional and food is overpriced. Based on our experience, the service on the other hand was very friendly and efficient. Only one item was offered as a main course in the daily "specials": a steak for $90! My friend tried the burger which came with coleslaw and fries which was tasty but not exceptional for $25 includind tax and tip. I tried the rabbit stuffed ravioli which was three small ravioli sprikled with a few green peas for a main course for $23 plus taxes and tip; the taste was not that great in both our opinions. We shared the charcuterie board as an apetizer which was fair for $18. We felt the pricing to be excessive for what you get. Would not return or recommend for that reason.

This was not a good experience - expensive, small portions and flavourless. We had the risotto with scallops and the burger - the scallops were fishy and you only get two (for $23) the risotto was bland and tasteless, burger which was OK but was incredibly small and the coleslaw was inedible. Not to mention wine by the bottle is very overpriced. We were here before and had a much better experience but that was years ago - we will not go back.

Very good dinning experience service was friendly experienced and efficient not in your face but there when needed, great ambiance you can sit at the bar have a booth or a more formal table plus a patio on those warm nights. The food is excellent good selection of organic meats plus. had the Marben special which was a prime rib for two plus sides, it was excellent overall but a lot of food. Overall a great spot plus in downtown Toronto you can actually get parking nearby.

The food was inventive and delicious, though a bit pricey. The ambiance might be described as romantic because of the dim lighting, however it was too noisy to be romantic. Service was very slow. It took a while for the server to take our order, bring us drinks, and bring our food. The experience would've been great had it not been for the slow and inattentive service.

This restaurant had the potential to be amazing. However, from the moment we were seated, the entire staff appeared frazzled and had excuses for taking over 20 minutes to bring drinks or bring our dessert. We never knew who our actual server was because I rarely saw the same person twice and to get service I had to stop someone as they were walking by. At the end of our meal, someone did come by and apologize with the excuse 'it was busy'. I'm sorry, for a restaurant that is near King street and has been open for awhile, 'it was busy' is not an appropriate excuse for a Saturday night. Possibly will go back but on a night where it won't be busy.

I have eaten at Marben numerous times, it is by far the best restaurant in Toronto. The food is simply amazing and the service was even better. There is no better dining experience then coming to Marben sitting at the Chefs table and having Jay serve you. I cant wait to go back.

Arrived early for our reservation so we decided to get drinks at the bar. Great start to the evening, cocktails were made to order and not pre-mixed as some other restaurants close by. You may have to wait a bit for a cocktail but they are worth the wait! Food was delicious, we started off with the house baked breads, the smoked butter it comes with was to die for. Continuing with the smoked theme we shared the smoked risotto with seared scallops, so tasty! to finish we could not resist the manchego cheesecake, yummy! Service and food were impeccable and will definitely go back for more!

I've been to Marben 3 times so far, every single time, they have run out of something (last visit, they had run out of all the items on their Daily Specials menu). All 3 times, I have been for dinner at around 7:30-8:30 which is not that late... I feel bad for customers who come later because they likely will have a very limited selection to choose from.

Everything great except: I had a gift card to use: the server (very knowledgeable re Menu clarification) reacted as if she had never seen a gift card previously; she thought it was a'coupon'. It took 10-15 minutes to resolve her lack of awareness and made an 'excellent' a 'good.

The resto was big yet fairly empty. We requested to sit somewhere else as our table was quite close to the kitchen. The waitress refused to seat us somewhere else and claimed that no one served in the other side of the resto. THat's really strange as 2 groups were seated in that area. Anyway, we didn't bother to argue with her. The brunch menu looked really good. We were particularly interested in the Spanish-inspired dishes. However, they turned out to be quite a disappointment. The Tortilla de Chorizo was quite bland. I could hardly taste the iberico chorizo. Food and service were mediocre. There are definitely better spots for brunch in town.

I had sent an email about this and haven't received a reply but I will echo my statements here. I had a reservation and after I was seated I had to wait for ten minutes before the server came over and let me know she would be by to get my drink order after helping another table. That table had come in after me and I watched her make their cocktails. By the time I placed my drink order I was irritated. Then had to wait another twenty minutes before she came back to get the food order and when we got the food it was cold. Our water pitcher was emptied twice and we had to chase someone down to fill it. Am exceptionally disappointing experience.

There are few placed in Toronto that have the trifecta. The service, the food and the mood. They kill it on all of them, especially the food.
