The restaurant has nice decor. The appetizers were excellent, we ordered the goat cheese and lobster ravioli. The wine was exceptional, a Saint Emilion which we picked as the server wasnt able to provide advice. The problems started with the entrees, we order the Brome Lake Duck and the Arctic Char. The duck was slightly overcooked but still tasted good, the char was completely overcooked with the accompanying grains being very undercooked and stlll hard. When this was mentioned to the server all he could say was "the grains are served al dente", there's a big difference between al dente and undercooked. To finish we shared the chocolate soufflé, which was decent but a little burned. We've eaten here many times but this was by far the worst, maybe this place is on a downward slope.

I booked this restaurant for my Fiance's birthday while on vacation in Banff. I knew nothing of the city's restaurants and used the reviews and information on OpenTable to find a suitable location. I could not be happier with my choice. Beautiful decor, excellent service and amazing food made this a dinner to remember and a perfect end to a day of sight-seeing around Banff. The prices may seem a bit high but the food most definitely is worth it.

This was probably our 10th visit to Maple Leaf over the last 7 or so years - always a wonderful dining experience. We prefer the "lounge" as they call it, more comfortable and cozy - we also really like the bartender "Dave," he is a gem and we have gotten to know him over the years. The food is consistently excellent. Salads were a pleasing mix of color, flavor and texture. My wife had the salmon - her favorite. I had the Alberta beef. Both first class in terms of preparation and presentation. A particularly perfect place on a chilly evening.

I always include dining at Maple Leaf Grill when I am in Banff, which is usually once or twice a year. The flavors are exquisite and varied but never overpowering. Fish is cooked to perfection, and 'caught today' fresh tasting. Meats are tender and divinely seasoned so as to compliment but never distract. The varieties of the vegetables that accompany each dish are a welcome treat. Portions are perfect. The wait staff know how to take care of customers without being intrusive; they are friendly and warm and helpful when it comes to making a selection. A great wine list and mouthwatering desserts complete the experience. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. A MUST if visiting Banff.

Many restaurants would bring a tiny cake with a candle or provide a shot of any sweet digestive drink if someone in the table specially the person who made the reservation was celebrating her or his birthday. We told the waiter that i was celebrating my BD and he didnt do anything special other than mentioning that it was also the BD for one of his coworkers. it would have been nice to having received any of those tiny details i mentioned above to make the whole experience even better. T the booth right by the wndow needs to be replaced. i had to use a cushion under my bottom to get to the right level on the table.

This restaurant specializes in Canadian food items and does a very good job of it. We split the baked goat cheese with chutney which was excellent as was the arctic char in a lemon beurre blanc sauce with veggies. The halibut with cilantro rice was good but not as good as the arctic char; the halibut needs something to enhance the flavor. Menu selection was varied and accessible; wines by the glass were of good quality.

We had a stagette dinner at Maple Leaf...we were warmly welcomed into this stylish restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed yet tasteful; not a place to get rowdy in. The extensive wine list had something for everyone and the cocktails we started with were beautifully made. The menu is not too large and everything on it looks delicious. Every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared; meat perfectly cooked; not overspiced, very clean flavours. The only negative: service was on the slow side and we got very hungry before we were served our food at last.

This was our first trip to Banff and we stopped in at the Maple Leaf. The Maple Leaf signature dish (salmon) was excellent. My husband had the stroganoff and it was very acidic. They had put in pickled red peppers, pickled mushrooms and regular pickles and the usual sour cream. Perhaps just a difference in understanding of a stroganoff (we prefer ours less sour). The location was great and central to the main road in Banff. Thanks for a great trip, Banff!

Visiting the area and celebrating a special evening noted on OpenTable reservations and nothing was mentioned. Wine list is extensive and pricey (more than customary). Food was good but 3 plates were served cold (even though we waited for final person to be served 5 minutes later). 4th plate was hot and delicious. Our meals were discounted a bit but overall experience was just OK. No view and for these prices, I would have hoped for a better evening.

Food was pretty decent (warning: crab cake are terrible... hardly any crabmeat and mostly just weird breading, but the elk meatballs are stellar), but the chocolate souffle was divine. Not souffle really - more like a molten chocolate cake in a souffle dish - but truly delicious. Kitchen too way too long to cook the food, though - and we saw others complaining about the same thing as well so it wasn't just us.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal…fresh grilled mountain trout and roasted duck both with mushroom risotto. Delicious. My only criticism would be that they remove the venetian blinds and clean the windows! With such a beautiful mountain view it's a shame you have to peak through the dusty blinds to glimpse the views! Otherwise, we would highly recommend dining at this establishment.

Starting the meal with oysters and salad - both fresh and well presented. The entrees were fantastic - the halibut was cooked properly and the vegetable accompaniment was delicious - broccolini and asparagus along with risotto - a terrific size portion of fish and vegetable! Likewise the wild salmon with yukon gold mashed and an array of green vegetables, perfectly cooked, made for a very fine meal. Only the lemon tart for desert was disappointing. Probably should have opted for the fruit crumble given the keen respect shown fresh vegetables by the chef.

My husband and I had a babysitter come to the hotel so we could enjoy a much needed date night. The server was outstanding, never let or drinks get low and ver friendly. My husband enjoyed the king crab legs. I had the salmon with Asian noodle slaw. I was ver disappointed in it. And wished I would have had steak or signature salmon dish, as it seemed very tasteless for the price. The baileys new your cheesecake made up for it at the end. It didn't ruin my experience I would gladly go back and try something different.
