"Used to love brunch here and recommended it to many. Placemats are gone. Intersting non-alcoholic drinks are gone. Service was less than professional. Plates arrived unadorned and totally without the former finesse. You order french toast and waffles you get two pieces of toast and four nuggets on a plate. No twist of citrus, no melon slice, not even a piece of parsley. It looked lonely, forlorn, and just plain dull even with the side bowl of sausage gravey and little pitcher of syrup. The food still tastes good but what happened? The fun is gone."

"From the first taste of Curry Fried Rice to the last "I give up" bite of chicken, every trip the chopsticks made from plate to mouth produced that full-body relaxation one feels when something beyound all expectations of delicious enters the body. Ma'ono is certainly THE BEST food in West Seattle. I rate it slightly higher than Meanders and Mashiko. Only 9 more days until our next visit to Ma'ono. I won't rest until we've tried every dish - and every drink ;) - on the menu."

"The fried chicken was definitely over-hyped. Good but not great; they pre-cook it and then pop it into the fryer to finish off before serving, it was a little too dark. I'd be just as happy getting fried chicken at Ezell's except that I can't get a good drink there. The drinks were good, not too weak like at some places but they arrived at the table after our food had already arrived which seemed odd given that it was early and the restaurant was not busy yet (two to three tables seated, including ours). Lovely ambience, but not worth my money."

"Very pleasing decor, in a minimalist European style, with an open kitchen concept. The fried chicken lives up to it's hype, and the rest of the dinner menu is very good. The poke is excellent, and so is the sesame apple salad/appetizer. Saimin is a house specialty, too. Weekend brunch is excellent."

"we got there at 6:45.. the waiter took FOREVER to come to us.. and forever for drinks (he got that wrong, a sazerac, the drink, was served in a tall rocks. i guess it was a sazerac whisky. EVERYTHING took FOREVER to get to our table. we waited a long time to get our second drinks. the waiter rarely checked on us. and to top it all off.. we asked for the chicken and rice to be put into 2 containers, divided.. and when we got home, we got all the chicken, and our friend got all the rice. he dind't listen at all. oh and we got OUT of there at 9:20 because we had to wait for our check and him to process the fee."

"Service was dramatically better than previous visits. Our waiter was top notch. Food was flavorful and well presented. Fried chicken is a must order! Crown Royal Black Manhattan was the best in the city."
